Tom Wang’s FBA Masterclass Review (2024): Legit Amazon FBA Guru?

Updated On: January 28, 2024

Welcome to my FBA Masterclass review. My goal is to answer common questions like: how much it costs, if it's a scam, and if you can actually make money with it. The end goal is to help you understand if it's a good fit for you personally, and if there are any better alternatives out there.
FBA Masterclass By Tom Wang

This FBA Masterclass review has been throughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

What I liked
Tom Wang is an Amazon best-selling author
The course covers many aspects of the Amazon FBA business
What I Didn’t Like
It's expensive
It doesn't provide any refunds
Amazon is highly competitive with expensive start-up costs

Because Amazon FBA training classes aren’t inexpensive, you should do your research before enrolling.

However, with so many Amazon FBA training programs to choose from, how can you know which ones are worth your time and money?

One example is Tom Wang’s Amazon FBA Masterclass course.

Tom Wang claims that by selling items on Amazon, he can help you become a millionaire in 12 months.

Is the FBA Masterclass genuinely exceptional?

This Amazon FBA Masterclass review will provide you with all of the required information to help you decide.

FBA Masterclass is pretty similar to most other FBA programs. They pitch you on the “dream” of running a profitable e-commerce business that can generate cash while you sleep.

All without having to invest much money upfront into things like inventory & advertising…

Too good to be true?

Not necessarily – Amazon FBA programs have certainly minted a few online millionaires.

It was actually one of the first online business models I made money with.

So as far as making money online goes, there are A LOT worse things you could be doing than Amazon FBA.

That being said, you shouldn’t start a business because “it’s not as bad” as some other type of business – it needs to stand on its own merits.

Choosing between the lesser of two evils always results in, ya know – evil.

So in this FBA Masterclass review, we’re going to break down exactly who FBA is good for, and who should avoid it.

There are a few important things you need to keep in mind when considering FBA as a business:

  • Operations
  • Finding winning products
  • Time (the most valuable thing of all)

Again, it’s 100% possible to make legitimate money with FBA, but it is NOT a simple business.

Let’s talk about why:

Operations: The big pitch with FBA is that you don’t really need to do much, because Amazon handles all the heavy lifting (shipping, packing, returns, etc).

That’s cool and all, except for the fact that Amazon actually has incredibly strict guidelines that you need to follow to even be able to ship out of their warehouses – something most programs don’t tell you about in their awesome marketing materials.

This process typically takes a solid 4-5 hours alone. So unless you have a very large team, this step is going to take up a lot of your time.

That doesn’t mean FBA is bad – it just means you need to know what you’re getting into. A “passive income business” is not what you’re going to get with FBA Masterclass.

Some courses will teach you how to outsource all of this prep to another company, but that eats into your margins significantly. Amazon is already taking 30-40% just for being part of the FBA program, so you don’t exactly have a lot of wiggle room.

Finding winning products: “Hot” products are typically only popular for a few glorious months, and then they fall off. Again, that doesn’t make FBA a bad business – it just means you need to be constantly on the lookout for the next hot thing.

If you have a supplier that you’re on really good terms with, sometimes they’ll drop you hints and tell you what’s about to trend. But this won’t happen until you have a history of making 6-figures with one another.

What this really means is that you need to be innovative and detail-oriented when it comes to staying on top of trends. You want to be the first one to the product, not the last one struggling to turn a profit off of the big-dog’s leftovers.

There’s always the option of serving the “evergreen” markets that have always been around, but to that I say: Good Luck selling meal prep containers against the Tupperwares of the world.

So – we can safely add-on another 3-4 hours worth of time each day trying to hunt for hot products.

Time: Despite what any Amazon FBA course seller tries to tell you, when it comes to FBA (or any e-commerce business model), you’re looking at about 3 months of serious trial, error, & testing before even making $1 back.

It could easily take 6 months or more before you’re even at break even.

And this all assumes you’re actually getting it right out of the gate, which isn’t impossible with a good program – but it’s not necessarily the norm.

To be honest, it’s not uncommon to operate at a LOSS for the first year of any new business, so I’m not bashing FBA here – I’m just talking facts based on my own personal experience selling on Amazon.

But what if you could build a different (non FBA) income stream, and start seeing profits within your first few days?

I’m talking about a system that doesn’t have:

  • Inventory
  • Crappy margins
  • A 12-month wait time before you turn a profit
  • A continuous guessing-wheel trying to find “hot products”

Something that you could make anywhere from $2,000 – $10,000 with consistently, month after month?

A stream of income that you can build as high (or low) as you feel like building it?

If that sounds interesting, you might want to think about using the Digital Rental Method.

What Does FBA Stand For?

FBA- Amazon's Fullfillment by Amazon

Amazon’s Fulfillment by Amazon, or FBA, is a shipping and storage service that helps small businesses sell their products.

Companies deliver their goods to Amazon fulfillment centers dedicated to FBA services.

Amazon receives, picks, and packs the products in the center before shipping them to the customer. After the sale, returns, refunds, and customer service are handled.

What Is FBA Business?

Sell What You Like and Earn Money

As a seller, you can choose the things you wish to sell, choose a supplier, order the products, package them, and ship them with an Amazon FBA business.

Everything is kept in one of Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers, and they take care of the rest.

It’s not the same as being a member of the Amazon Affiliates program.

While Amazon FBA has its benefits and drawbacks and several areas to master as a seller, the FBA business model is rather enticing, especially when examined in depth.

What Is FBA Masterclass?

FBA Masterclass One Of The Most Expensive Course

If you want to quit your day job and focus solely on your Amazon business, FBA Masterclass will help you get there.

Tom Wang, a serial entrepreneur who quit his day job after launching his first Amazon product in less than a year, teaches the course.

However, it wasn’t easy. Before achieving success with Amazon, Wang had seven failed startups. He had multiple setbacks along the way.

Wang explains:

“I’ve been in your shoes. I completely get how you’re feeling. I had both highs and lows. I have the knowledge and experience to guide you through entrepreneurship’s treacherous terrains and raging currents. Don’t get me wrong: I think it’s great. I am not an expert in everything. I’ll never do it. But, to succeed, I am willing to fail. To move forward, I am willing to give back.”

The FBA Masterclass by Tom Wang is one of the most expensive courses available, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

You get what you pay for, and you’re paying for 320 modules that go well beyond the essentials in this case. You’ll also benefit from the expertise of a seven-figure seller.

Who Is Amazon’s Tom Wang?

Tom Wang The Man Behind FBA Masterclass

Tom Wang is an Amazon seller who is well-known.

To teach individuals how to make money selling a single product on Amazon, he launched FBA Masterclass, an industry-leading community of over 3,400+ Amazon Sellers and growing.

He was born in China and immigrated to Canada in 2001.

Before selling on Amazon, Tom worked as an account manager at a Yellow Pages call center.

Tom started selling his first product on Amazon in 2017. Because he didn’t know how to sell on Amazon effectively, the first two products were a flop.

His third attempt at selling on Amazon was a triumph. Tom claims to have made more than $5 million in Amazon sales.

Tom Wang’s Amazon FBA Masterclass was created in 2019 to teach people how to sell on Amazon utilizing Tom’s single product profit approach.

He believes that you can make millions in just a few months by following his advice.

Why does Tom Wang sell the FBA Masterclass for so little if making $20k – $40k per month selling on Amazon is so simple?

Tom Wang may not be able to benefit from his Amazon business. The FBA Masterclass is bringing in a lot of cash for him.

What Does Tom Wang Do?

Tom Wang - A Youtuber

Tom Wang is a serial entrepreneur who enjoys “scaling the inscrutable.”

He launched his first Amazon product in January 2017, and by December of that year, he was able to leave his day job.

He now has a seven-figure Amazon brand and teaches others how to start their own FBA businesses on Amazon.

As part of his Amazon tutoring business approach, he posts Youtube videos to share his experiences.

His Youtube channel has a 20-thousand-plus-subscriber. It has been around since 2016 and has amassed over 500,000 views. The primary purpose of the channel is to teach new ways to sell on Amazon and promote Tom’s training course.

What’s Inside Tom Wang Amazon FBA Masterclass

“The Single Product Profit System” is the title of Tom Wang’s FBA Masterclass.

Yes, by following three simple steps, this FBA Masterclass will teach you how to sell one product at a time on Amazon.

Step 1: Choosing the Correct Product

What Are The Best Products To Sell?

The best Amazon products to sell, according to FBA Masterclass, are:

  • It was around $50, it’s small and light, and it’s available all year.
  • With fewer than 100 reviews, those with minimal competition.
  • Products with at least 3,000 daily searches.
  • Something that can be bought for a dollar or two per unit.

You’ll learn how to use the Viral Launch, an Amazon gold mining tool, to find the correct product.

Viral Launch has a monthly fee ranging from $58 to $166. If you sign up for this service, Tom Wang will receive a commission.

You can pay the FBA Masterclass team to choose the correct products if you don’t have time to complete step 1.

Step 2: Sourcing from the Ground Up

Products - Lowest Cost But With Highest Quality

This course will show you how to find the highest-quality goods for the lowest price.

Tom suggests contacting 30, 40, or even 60 different Chinese merchants to find the best pricing for your chosen products.

You then haggle with a few other providers to get the best pricing.

You’ll need to hire an inspection company to come to the facility and inspect the product quality once you’ve chosen a Chinese supplier.

Tom asserts that he never made an advance payment to the provider. A 30% deposit should be paid upfront, with the remaining 70% due after the product has passed inspection.

This is a procedure that takes a long time to complete. I’m not sure how you’ll manage this while relaxing at the beach with your family.

It’s time to sell your products on Amazon now that you know where to look for them and how to purchase them for the best price.

Wait! Isn’t it essential to ship the item to an Amazon warehouse in the United States first?

Yes, absolutely. Before you can sell something, you must pay the shipping expenses to get it to Amazon.

Step 3: System Of Ranks And Banks

Facebook - Free Product For Reviews

Once the physical products have been checked into the Amazon warehouse, you are responsible for putting them up for sale.

You’ll learn how to design a product description with images, videos, copywriting, and keywords.

It would be best to collect reviews after the product goes live to increase its Amazon rating.

FBA Masterclass provides organic and paid traffic tactics to raise product ranking.

Organic ranking is free; however, it takes a long time to materialize.

Tom is looking for sponsored traffic to help him raise his rating. This is going to cost you a lot of money.

Paid traffic is when you buy Facebook ads under the “Free Product for Reviews” strategy.

So you go to Facebook and offer free Amazon goods in exchange for a positive review. They saw the advertisement, purchased the item, and left a review. You validate their order and issue them a check for reimbursement.

Amazon just outlawed this marketing approach.

This lesson needs to be updated, and I’m hopeful FBA Masterclass will do so.

Amazon will suspend your seller account if you use this illegal marketing strategy to improve your rating.

How Much Does Tom Wang FBA Cost?

Is Your $6,799 Worth It?

Tom Wang’s Amazon FBA Masterclass costs $6,997.00.

In addition to coaching calls and extras, the FBA Masterclass has 320 courses organized into 13 chapters.

How much cash do you require? You’ll need a budget of $10K to $15K to launch your first Amazon product, in addition to the training price.

If you don’t have at least $20,000 to invest, the FBA masterclass is a waste of money.

Attending Tom Wang’s Amazon FBA Masterclass will not result in a monthly income of $20K or $40K. Selling items on Amazon allows you to make money.

Cons

FBA Masterclass - High Start-up Costs

  • The course is quite costly.

  • When buying a nonrefundable digital course like FAB Masterclass, be wary.
  • You won’t have enough time to evaluate the training. You’ll end yourself purchasing stuff you’ll never use.
  • Amazon FBA is highly competitive with high start-up costs.
  • Making money on Amazon isn’t a lucrative business any longer. You’re competing against millions of Chinese sellers for a small profit margin.

Is Amazon FBA Worth It In 2024?

Amazon Is Now Oversaturated

Several years ago, Amazon FBA businesses were the quick and easy way to make a fortune and move to the Bahamas or some other similarly delightful tropical destination.

Starting an Amazon business was a fantastic method to make money quickly, and everyone and their mother had one!

In today’s climate, that isn’t the case.

Private brands and con artists who earn quick money have oversaturated the market.

Shipping expenses, fulfillment fees, and other expenditures related to running an Amazon FBA companies have all increased, as have Prime customers’ expectations.

Trade battles between the US and China haven’t helped matters. Because it possesses the world’s most affordable manufacturing, China used to be the top option for sourcing FBA products.

Many merchants are now shifting to American manufacturers, resulting in higher prices.

Can You Make Money With Amazon FBA Masterclass?

Make Money? Not Impossible But Digital Landlord Is Better

Yes, Amazon businesses can be profitable. And you can undoubtedly learn from Tom Wang’s experiences and apply what you’ve learned to run a profitable business.

But…

Many people deal with a lot of things that come with eCommerce.

Don’t get the wrong impression…

It’s not impossible to make money with eCommerce, but if you’re going to put in the time and effort to learn the ropes (which isn’t simple), you might as well make some money while you’re at it.

The approach that has helped numerous online businesses grow to over $40,000 per month is so straightforward that producing money becomes second nature.

Is Amazon FBA Masterclass A Scam?

FBA Masterclass Not A Scam

Time for the million-dollar question: is FBA Masterclass a scam?

No, it’s not a “scam”, technically speaking. They aren’t going to take your money and run away leaving you empty handed.

You can make money with the program, but not nearly as easily as Tom Wang wants you to think it is.

As with most FBA businesses, there is A LOT of work that needs to be done up-front, and there is really no guarantee of you being successful.

You’ll need to get very lucky and find an awesome product no one’s heard of, and then pump a ton of volume into it while it lasts.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big proponent of front-loading work now, so that you can make money later and sip out of coconuts on the beach.

But if I’m gonna do that, I want the rewards to be HIGH and virtually guaranteed.

I’d rather put in that same 3 months of work (in my spare time) & build a handful of Digital Rental Properties that each produce $500-$2,000 checks every single month afterward (AKA recurring income).

Did FBA Masterclass Make The List?

And the cool part is that you can do it in a lot less time than 3-months (I personally did it in my first 2 weeks of using the Digital Rental Method).

Unlike Amazon FBA, you can do it from anywhere in the world, so it’s a genuine “laptop-lifestyle” business.

All you need is an internet connection.

Some of my friends are Digital Rental Method that run their 6-figure businesses from:

  • Camping trips at national parks
  • Beachfront in Hawaii
  • On the road in a camper-van (with a pet pig!)

They focus on living an enjoyable life first, and focus on income second. All thanks to this program

They can take weeks or months off, and money keeps rolling in.

Living happily is the top priority.

If the thought of living perpetually at your dream vacation spot interests you, using the Digital Rental Method might be for you!

Is Amazon FBA Masterclass Legitimate?

Legit - But There Are Better Alternatives

Tom Wang’s Amazon FBA Masterclass is a legitimate course. The program can teach you how to build and run your own brand on Amazon. This evaluation has detailed exactly what you may expect if your faith in the individual.

When it comes to starting a real business, though, you have a lot of possibilities.

Remember that I am not compensated for promoting any of the programs we examine. I think eCommerce is a fantastic business strategy, but you might be leaving a lot of money on the table.

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2024?

Digital Landlord - Top Money Making Online Business

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.

Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, using the Digital Rental Method is for you.

Here’s Why:

1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour-or-two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

2) Ownership & Control: With Amazon FBA, you don’t technically own the customer base.

Amazon could literally shut you down overnight. They have a history of kicking suppliers off their platform, or stopping payouts to affiliates for certain products once they’ve built their own.

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

With the Digital Rental Method, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

3) Big Margins: With FBA, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for growing traffic to your product.

using the Digital Rental Method, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on auto-pilot.

4) It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with Amazon FBA, you would need to sell twice as much inventory, or double your profit margins. And I can guarantee you (from my fidget-spinner FBA days), that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

5) You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with FBA is that you’re basically only helping yourself. The world doesn’t need another B.S. gadget to consume.

It’s cool in the short term to make a quick buck, but in the long-term, it gets really old, really fast.

But With the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

We’re not helping Jeff Bezos shoot another rocket into space – you’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other FBA programs like FBA Masterclass to be a successful amazon seller, which might make you money 12 months from now.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.

If this sounds like you, click here to see how it all works.
