But before I go any further…
MLMs like Breakaway Movement are a bit of a mixed bag. They CAN be a legitimate way to make money, but some have a reputation for literally ruining people’s lives – so it’s important to know what you’re getting, since each one is unique.
Like most of my readers, you were probably introduced to this one via a friend or some influencer you trust online.
And it makes sense why so many people recommend them:
Making money outside of a 9-5 can be… life-changing, to say the least.
So in this article, I want to help you explore two things:
- If MLMs are actually a worthwhile business to pursue
- If Breakaway Movement is a worthwhile MLM
Before that, I want to clear the air on something.
There are A LOT of people out there who bash all MLMs in any form. However, I’m not one of those people.
Instead, I want to genuinely educate you about them so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
If you’re unfamiliar with what MLMs actually do:
They’re businesses in which you pay money to a company for the ability to sell their products.
Sometimes the products are actually kind of decent (I still remember my mom throwing Pampered Chef parties when I was younger).
Other times the products are really poorly made and come with a high price tag.
Typically, the only way to really make money is to get people (mostly friends & family) to sign up with you for a recurring subscription.
If the product is 100% legitimate & valuable, it’s entirely possible to get people to sign-up and continue paying you.
If the product is subpar, you’ll usually burn those bridges kinda quickly and end up with $0 coming in each month.
The biggest issue I’ve seen is that this puts significant stress on your personal relationships, as you’re reliant on selling to your “network.”
Think about it: if you KNEW that every time your friend Sally called, she’d be trying to sell you on one of her products… you’d eventually stop answering Sally’s calls.
Now, this doesn’t mean MLMs are outright bad… it means you need to know what type of MLM you’re getting yourself into before you sign up.
Again, some MLMs provide real value to people, but MOST don’t – so in this article, I’m going to explore the case with Breakaway Movement.

They employ marketing techniques to get people to become distributors and enthusiastic promoters of their water purification units for $10,000.
I’m sure some people will profit from Breakaway Movement, but the majority will waste their money.
According to an FTC survey, 99% of MLM recruits lose money.
Is The Breakaway Movement A Pyramid Scheme?
This is not a pyramid scheme, in my opinion. With Breakaway Movement, you get value for money because it offers a ton of instructional content for a low monthly membership fee.
A pyramid scheme is a business model where participants are paid to recruit new participants rather than give them a real product or service.
And since you receive tools and training materials in exchange for your monthly contribution, it isn’t a pyramid scam.
Who Founded The Breakaway Movement?
Shana Samot and Amelia Whelan founded Breakaway Movement. These two sisters have active lifestyles in Hawaii. Amelia is the CEO of Breakaway Movement and a wellness coach.
According to a Reddit thread, Amelia Whelan reportedly used to be a member of the CEO Movement, another MLM that pushes Kangen water filters.
There are other MLM companies like Amway and Royal Prestige. Being among the first to recruit people enables you to earn from their efforts and those of those they invite.
That’s presumably why Amelia Whelan left CEO Movement to start her own business. It allows her to profit from the Breakaway Movement’s efforts.

This video dives deep to demonstrate how to communicate with prospects. The fundamental objective is to make it appear that you’re producing more money than you can manage with little to no work.
On the other hand, they teach you how to market the dream lifestyle rather than a product or service.
Law Of Attraction
The law of attraction video series covers many themes, such as removing negativity from your life, having a money mindset, and attracting all you desire.
Paid And Organic Lead Generation Via Social Media
You will learn how to set up social media pages, post daily, and what kind of content to include in your strategy. You will also learn how to execute paid advertising campaigns to move traffic (web visitors) to a sales funnel.
Photo Editing
Learn to edit photos for social media posts. Adding visual appeal to your photographs can enhance interaction, which leads to more leads and a few thousand dollars.
Breakaway Movement Compensation Plan
The compensation strategy used by Breakaway Movement with Enagic is quite complicated.
I’ll explain it in layman’s words so you can understand your earning potential and why so many businesses use Enagic.
Enagic’s compensation plan uses an 8-point commission structure known as the trifecta commission.
You receive a commission for each water machine you sell, also earning $340 on your first and second sales.
Your next three sales will net you $680 each. You’re promoted to the next level on your eleventh sale, earning $1,020 for each transaction. Your earnings per item increase to $1,360 after the 20th sale.
After 50 sales, each water filtering unit sells for $1,700. After 100 deals, each machine earns $2,040.
Because this is a multi-level marketing firm, you can make indirect sales by recruiting others to sell for you.
The amount of money you make depends on your current level. You will eventually stop benefiting from your recruiters’ recruits, and Enagic company will give you bonus commissions instead.
MLMs like Breakaway Movement and My Daily Choice have muddled pay structures. The issue arises when you don’t correctly comprehend your earnings.
This implies you must rely on the companies’ honesty and transparency or spend a lot of effort understanding their compensation plans.
How Much Does Breakaway Movement Cost?
The membership is $33.33/month, but you are encouraged to become an Enagic Kangen distributor, which means you must spend $10,000 and buy one for yourself.
Only by doing so can you profit from this business opportunity that the Breakaway Movement offers.
Can You Get A Refund For Your Breakaway Movement Membership?
Unfortunately, there are no refunds for the Breakaway Movement membership. You have ten days to return the water filtering unit and get your money back.
You must return it unused or face a $100 restocking fee. If you return used equipment beyond ten days, you will be charged a processing fee of $300-700. It’s all laid out on the Enagic website.
My Recommendation?
I recommend setting aside your preconceived notions regarding Breakaway Movement and taking a realistic look at it.
Consider the following: Can you sell high-priced water filtering machines? Are you willing to learn?
Are you willing to risk $10,000 or more? If you are ready to accept the risks, you can consider joining Breakaway Movement as a REAL strategy to build an online business…
You should probably consider this alternative if you don’t want to do all of that!

Is Breakaway Movement A Scam?
So, time for the $1,000,000 question: is Breakaway Movement a scam?
No, not technically. They aren’t going to run off with your money and not give you what you paid for. It’s 100% possible to make money with this program.
That being said, it’s not nearly as simple as they want you to think it is.
There’s A LOT of work to be done upfront, and no guarantee that you’ll be successful. The commissions are also fairly small.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for doing hard work now, so that I can reap the benefits later.
But if you’re going to work really hard for 3 months, and your reward is a $100 check… it’s not really a great opportunity.
If I’m gonna do that, I want the rewards to be HIGH and virtually guaranteed.
I’d rather put in that same 3 months of work (in my spare time) & build a handful of Digital Rental Properties that each produce $500-$2,000 checks every single month afterward (AKA recurring income).
And the cool part is that you can do it in a lot less time than 3-months (I personally did it in my first 2 weeks of using the Digital Rental Method).
