However, most people like you, who are bound by budgets and student loans, are unlikely to afford it.
That’s the truth. Chasing the next hot thing that only lasts three months won’t make you rich.

This eCom Elites review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.
eCom Elites is pretty much your standard dropshipping course.
If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know that I don’t like dropshipping as a business model for a few different reasons.
That being said, it’s possible to make money with it, so I want to give you an honest review of this particular program.
But first, let me clear the air on one important thing:
Dropshipping has never been – and will never be – a passive, recurring business. No matter what the guru might tell you, it requires constant work.
I’m telling you this from my own personal experience running several dropshipping stores on both Shopify AND Clickfunnels.
If you’re looking for a business that you’ll need to be super active in, dropshipping might be for you.
If you want to make money while you sleep and travel the world, dropshipping just isn’t it.
The main reason?
To have real success with dropshipping, you need a bulletproof system for finding the hottest new products before anyone else.
In the very best case scenario, you have a relationship with your supplier, where they give you a heads up on products that are about to pop. These relationships don’t typically come around until you’ve done 6-figures in business with the supplier.
In the worst case scenario, you’re testing a bunch of products with ads, losing money until you find that one winner.
I’m not saying dropshipping is a bad idea based on that alone… most businesses require you to lose money before you actually make money, so it’s somewhat normal.
But let’s assume you DO in fact have the next fidget-spinner craze product, months before anyone else knows about it…
That’s great! But now you’re gonna need to get people to buy it.
- Tens of thousands of dollars in ads
- Tons of time spent split testing to find the best landing page variations, best product descriptions, best ad copy, best ad videos, etc.
Again, some people thrive on that and love it. So if you’re looking for that level of constant testing and gambling, it might be a good fit.
It’s also worth calling out that Facebook has a track record of banning you FOR LIFE from advertising on their platform for dropshipping.
Think about it: it ruins a user’s experience with Facebook when a product shows up 45 days after they’ve ordered it, and is nothing like the product they thought they were buying.
So Facebook would rather ban you from their platform than risk a bad user experience.
Suffice to say, it’s a lot of stress for not-alot of payback.
As someone that actually ran a dropshipping business, I can tell you from personal experience that your time can be better spent with other business models.

What’s In The eCom Elites Training?
I’ll go over all you need to know about what has made Frank’s students succeed in this review.
eCom Elites, according to Frank, are:
“This is the only plan you’ll ever need to start a successful online business.”
The main focus of eCom Elites is Shopify and dropshipping, as you may have predicted. He tells you how to make money by developing a long-term eCommerce business with a Shopify store and driving traffic to your eCommerce store behind the scenes.
What distinguishes Franklin Hatchett’s course from others is that he gives you a bird’ eye view of the eCommerce company, so you’re not tied to a single approach or source of traffic.
The training is divided into several modules and videos that cover every aspect of the online business.
Module 2 covers procuring products (an important topic) and includes almost 20 videos to give you an idea. Module 3, which deals with Facebook Ads, comprises nearly 30 questions.
Franklin Hatchett demonstrates (over-the-shoulder) how to construct a store, identify things to sell, and streamline sales funnels inside eCom Elites.
Who Is Franklin Hatchett?
Franklin Hatchett, a New Zealand native, is a digital marketing entrepreneur who makes a lot of free content available on his YouTube channel. As a result of having dropshipping stores that sold camping gear, he also went to the school of hard knocks.
Franklin has numerous successful pupils in affiliate marketing training programs, in addition to eCom Elites.
For the time being, Franklin Hatchett is likely to make a good chunk of his money by teaching others those skills, as anyone who puts in this much effort should.
He used to generate money by creating websites and selling advertising spots; it was well worth the money and work, but it still didn’t allow him to live the lifestyle he desired.
After that, he discovered affiliate marketing.
He gained money by selling things that other people already owned with this business approach. When one of his enterprises went bankrupt, he was forced to start again.
He established himself in the business in the early days when it was highly profitable by finding dropshipping and Shopify early on. AKA before the market grew saturated and paid ads became prohibitively expensive. Frank swiftly expanded his business, opening new locations and making more money.
Of course, none of this happened overnight. According to Frank, this level of accomplishment can only be achieved over time and with the determination never to give up.
Franklin claims that anyone can achieve his level of success by following his three-step formula:
- Turn off the television.
- Take responsibility for your actions.
- Begin to make things happen.
Is he implying that you should cancel your Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions?
No, not at all…
But what he’s suggesting is that you should put binge viewing on hold until you can binge watch from the comfort of your private yacht.
People appear to like the idea, judging by the roughly 175k subscribers on his YouTube channel.
So, what’s the big deal?
What Can You Expect In The eCom Elites Course?
Franklin’s no-nonsense teaching style stands outright immediately, and he does so mainly by example, showing you how he does things rather than lecturing you for hours on how you should do something. You learn best by doing if you’re anything like me, so this is a welcome change of pace.
So, what distinguishes Franklin Hatchett as an eCommerce expert?
Glad you asked me that.
Franklin has been involved in the dropshipping industry since 2009, and he is considered one of the world’s best experts on the subject.
I appreciate Franklin since he doesn’t go around talking about how he invented everything he teaches. According to him, the dropshipping business model had been around for approximately five years before he started, and Chinavision.com was the big fish in the pond at the time.
I know some people think dropshipping is a fad (like the pet rock), but Franklin claims that’s not the case.
So, in eCom Elites, Franklin Hatchett discusses what he covers.
To begin, Franklin demonstrates how to build a killer Shopify store, and he goes into great detail about it because it’s the foundation of your success. He goes into such great depth that you’ll feel like a seasoned expert when you’re finished, which I believe speaks volumes about his character.
Here’s a quick rundown of what he’ll teach in his eCommerce course:
- Products – How and where to locate.
- Product research – Entails determining which products are popular and selling like hotcakes.
- Your Shopify Store – How to set up and optimize for optimum success.
- Facebook Ads – How to create a campaign and what to do to improve it’s overall performance.
- Organic Google Traffic – He demonstrates how to optimize your website for free traffic.
- Email Marketing – He explains how to create customer acquisition and retention email campaigns.
- Best business techniques from the past and present.
- Finally, he has several videos discussing how to construct a ninja-style e-commerce site in various methods.
After you join up and log into the eCom Elites learning site, you’ll have access to these videos (almost 35 hours of video content). Just keep in mind that he goes over a lot in these course videos, so pay attention and take notes if necessary.
Franklin recognizes that anyone who invests their hard-earned money in his eCom Elites course expects results; therefore, he offers a 30-day money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied.
You will, however, have to jump through several hoops to be eligible for a refund, such as:
- At least half of the video instruction from eCom Elites

Probably, you won’t be able to acquire a refund from eCom Elites if you don’t have all of these items checked off.
What Is The eCom Elites Course Outline?

Franklin Hatchett takes a moment to welcome you to the eCom Elites family before you begin the training.
He doesn’t spend any time telling you about himself and where he’s from (New Zealand, but I’m sure you already knew that when you heard him start talking). He compares and contrasts the eCom Elites course with other courses available.
He goes out of his way to make you feel confident in your decision. Franklin wants you to know that the money you spent on his course was well spent and that your time spent on it was not wasted.
eCom Elites Onboarding
Franklin demonstrates that he is willing to put his money where his mouth is.
“Welcome to the internet’s best damn money-making course.”
Now, I’m not going to lie. When I originally read this, I got what he was trying to say about his course, but how can it possibly be of any use when comparing it to one of the more expensive courses?
As Franklin points out, this training is aimed at people who are just getting started with e-commerce and dropshipping. It’s unlikely that the veterans will benefit much from it.
Just keep in mind that this is a dropshipping course for beginners.
Most likely, you did some study about dropshipping before deciding to buy the course, so you have a good understanding of the subject.
Franklin doesn’t go into great detail regarding the course at this time. He emphasizes that this isn’t a get-rich-quick strategy and that success will require time and effort.
Module 1: Setting Up Your Store
His instructions on setting up Shopify stores are essential for newcomers to succeed. However, if you already have some experience building a store, you may be able to skip over parts of this material.
Franklin doesn’t say anything new about Shopify here, but here are a couple of topics he’ll address in Module 1:
- When building your Shopify store, Franklin leaves no stone untouched (from start to finish).
- Following that, he discusses shipping and payment methods like Paypal, Stripe, and Visa.
- He goes on to clarify which programs are essential to your sites, such as the Amazon Plugin and Lazy Load, just in case you were wondering.
- Franklin then moves on to talking about how to set up some of the more critical aspects of your store, such as abandoned cart emails, funnels, and automation.
Module 2: Sourcing Products
I understand that watching over 5 hours of videos on how to choose which things to sell in your store could be difficult, but trust me… you’ll need it. Besides, Franklin has some pretty cool concepts and examples, so that it may seem like a lot of information at first, but it’s well worth the effort.
Franklin then details how he uses the numerous apps he uses on his site to identify things in the “real world.” You don’t get the impression that he’s lecturing you on what to do; instead, he walks you through what he does.
Now, I’m not going to give away any trade secrets or the names of the websites that provide the software he uses, but what you’ll discover as you work through this module is that it’s well worth your time to learn how a dropshipping specialist conducts their product research.
Much of what is presented in this module isn’t covered in other courses.
Module 3: Facebook Ads
Module 3 is when they start delving into the specifics of Franklin’s sales strategy on Facebook. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that Facebook is the 800-pound gorilla, with over 10 hours of video to browse. This module, I’d say, is perhaps the most comprehensive in the entire course, so pay attention.
Because Facebook is so critical to your marketing success with Franklin’s course, he is rigorous with the information he offers, such as:
- How to create a Facebook Ads account correctly?
- What are the various methods Franklin employs to promote himself?
- Creating specialized audiences for Facebook marketing campaigns based on specific demographics.
- What is the Facebook pixel, and how to use it?
- How to create a split-test for your different Facebook advertising?
- Analyzing and building look-alike audiences for retargeting advertising using data from your campaigns.
- Increasing the amount of money you spend on campaigns.
- It was getting to the end of the bidding procedure. Franklin also discusses important topics like mining, power editing, and optimization.
Rather than just teaching you the academic principles, Franklin offers you practical instances of his work, like he did in the prior modules.
Note: This module will take a lot of time to go through and much more time to put into practice, but it will be well spent.
Franklin Hatchett is one of the few course owners I’ve encountered who covers as much material on Facebook advertising as he does.
Keep in mind that individuals with extensive expertise with Facebook Advertising may not find anything groundbreaking since Franklin is a bit conservative in his approach.
Module 4: Instagram Traffic
Now that Instagram has become a popular advertising medium, plenty of Shopify gurus shout its praises, but there aren’t many who teach you how they do it.
However, in lesson 4, Franklin focuses on Instagram traffic to demonstrate how he differs from the other course creators.
He’ll go through the following topics in this module:
- How to Use Instagram to Increase Traffic?
- Getting the most excellent deal on influencers.
- When designing Instagram ads, the best way is to do the following steps.
- Creating a posting schedule to encourage people to participate.
Module 5: Email Marketing
Email marketing is critical to sales in module 5.
Franklin takes the lead by tackling the following topics:
- Putting together your squeeze page.
- For your Shopify store, create a lead generation list.
- Automating your email marketing is essential.
- Coupons and lead magnets for Facebook Ads
- Frank’s formula for starting campaigns is being used.
Nobody wants to bleed their nose (by trial and error) by wasting a lot of time and money, especially when time and money are scarce. This is why Franklin shares all of the insider email marketing tips and tricks that have proven successful for him over the years.
Module 6: Chatbot
Do you know what chatbots are?
It’s unfamiliar territory for me, and Franklin Hatchett is one of the few course authors who delve into the specifics of how to use them. Frank spends roughly 3 hours in this module demonstrating to you how they function and, more importantly, how to earn sales using them.
This is primarily a technical module, similar to email marketing. He discusses topics such as:
- Constructing a Chatbot
- Commands in action
- Creating multiple chat flows and menus
Of course, he doesn’t go into great depth about this since, to be honest, a chatbot isn’t complicated. On the other hand, Franklin will lead you through all you need to know.
Module 7: Sales Funnel
Franklin talks over some of his tactics for constructing a successful sales funnel in this module, including:
- How to increase your sales by a factor of ten
- Scaling with virtual assistants
- Setting and sticking to personal objectives
Because Franklin is a foreigner from New Zealand, he mentions a few tax concerns in his home nation.
Of course, the principles of paying taxes are the same regardless of where you live, but it would be well worth your time to consult with an accountant or tax attorney if you have any issues.
Because few other course developers address the subject of taxes, Franklin tackles it in “Business 101” (the third video) to provide value to his students.
Module 8: Google Ads
If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll know that Google Ads and Facebook Ads are two very different beasts. On the other hand, Franklin Hatchett employs both of them depending on the situation, product kind, or specialty.
Frank’s primary focus in module 8 is Google advertisements, and he spends almost 3 hours going through every last detail on how to put them up for the highest potential ROI.
Frank teaches Adwords, Google shopping, retargeting campaigns, and keyword research, among other areas of Google AdWords.
Franklin Hatchett investigates all aspects of Google Ads, including:
- Adwords adsets creation
- Retargeting a campaign
- Searching for keywords
He covers a lot of ground for the advertising platform, and he does so comprehensively.
Module 9: Organic SEO
Okay, so I’ve talked about some areas that other courses don’t cover, but organic Google traffic is at the top of the list.
I understand that courses will skim over setting up your Shopify store and creating content. Still, I have to admit that no one honestly tackles the aspect of driving traffic to your site through Google Ads or Facebook Ads.
Who doesn’t like getting something for nothing? This module is all about gaining free traffic to your store. Unfortunately, Franklin skims over organic Google traffic, but this isn’t a deal-breaker, as most of the information he leaves out can be obtained on YouTube.
Though, I believe his course should be extended beyond 90 minutes and eight videos.
Franklin could have addressed many aspects of the Google Algorithm, but that’s best left for a more advanced lecture. But kudos to him for bringing it to our attention.
Module 10: Top Secret Videos
In this top-secret video collection, Franklin displays his worth in module 10 by discussing various subjects for increasing sales.
Among the things he discusses are:
- Increasing sales by utilizing warranties
- Using coupons to increase sales
- Using review websites to gain an advantage over the competition.
- Frank’s strategies for growing your email list and fan page on Facebook.
- Investigating your Facebook competitors
Franklin Hatchett goes above and above in his teaching. The knowledge he’s imparted up to this point is well worth the price of the course. All of the strategies he teaches you, like building a Facebook fan page and spying on your Shopify competitors, might well be worth ten times what he’s charging.
Module 11: Video Requests
Franklin has the foresight to plan for the future in module 11. Most of the course videos were created in 2017, but Franklin recognized it wouldn’t be enough because the internet is constantly changing, so he created this module and then updated it for the 2021 version.
Because Facebook is constantly changing and updating, it comes to reason that any Facebook advertising you produce should be checked for any necessary revisions.
The videos in this module go over how to stay up with all of Facebook’s news changes, and as an eCom Elites member, you’ll be the first to know about any changes that happen.
Franklin goes above and above when other courses give you the knowledge and then leave you hanging.
With all of the changes to Facebook, Google, Shopify, and Instagram, you’d have to figure things out on your own sooner or later if the course didn’t have any updates.
Another fantastic component of Frank’s course is this.
So, if you come across something that leaves you scratching your head and the videos in the course don’t help, Franklin will make a video for you.
Who is it that does that?

A good teacher will always go out of their way to ensure their kids are taken care of, and Franklin thinks this as well, as evidenced by his actions.
Module 12: Weekly Videos
In Module 12, Frank holds Q&A sessions with his pupils, in which he answers their questions on a variety of issues, such as how to recover after your Facebook account has been banned, how to increase your Google AdWords performance, and how to spy on Flippa sites lawfully.
Don’t worry if you have no idea what that means; it will be second nature when you come to this module.
The video quality may not be on pace with the other videos in the course, but the material quality is far more important than the video quality.
If you’re stuck on something that the course doesn’t touch, though, you might be better off asking some of his other students in the FB Group rather than sifting through these films.
Franklin Hatchett will let you into his FB Mastermind once you sign up for the eCom Elites course.
This is something you’ll enjoy.
This group has many students, so there will be no shortage of brains to pick when you hit a hitch.
Know that if you strike a brick wall, someone will be there to help you get through it.
So, my advice is to first go through the course, do what’s in training, and trust the process rather than becoming distracted by shiny stuff. The students in the Mastermind group will then be there for you when you need them.

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:
- I’ve drop-shipped a toilet-bowl putting green on Shopify
- I’ve drop-shipped jade rollers via Clickfunnels
- I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
- I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing
And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.
That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.
Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, becoming a Digital Landlord is for you.
1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour-or-two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

2) Ownership & Control: With dropshipping, you don’t actually own anything. You can’t control your product quality, or even what the package looks like when it shows up.

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

3) Fulfillment: Alright, so you don’t have any inventory… but that worry has been replaced with the pains of overseas fulfillment.

If you wanted to double your income with dropshipping, you would need to sell twice as much inventory, or double your profit margins. And I can guarantee you (from my shopify dropshipping days), that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.
5) Big Margins: With dropshipping, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for growing traffic to your product.

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.
You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.
Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.
So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other dropshipping programs like eCom Elites, which might make you money 12 months from now.
