If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know that I don’t like dropshipping as a business model for a few different reasons.
That being said, it IS possible to make money with it, so I want to give you an honest review of this particular program.
But first, let me clear the air on one important thing:
Dropshipping has never been – and will never be – a passive, recurring business. No matter what the guru might tell you, it requires constant work.
I’m telling you this from my own experience running several dropshipping stores on Shopify AND Clickfunnels.
Dropshipping might be for you if you’re looking for a business that you’ll need to be super active in.
If you want to make money while you sleep and travel the world, then dropshipping just isn’t it.
The main reason?
To have real success with dropshipping, you need a bulletproof system for finding the hottest new products before anyone else.
In the best-case scenario, you have a relationship with your supplier, where they give you a heads up on products that are about to pop. These relationships don’t typically come around until you’ve done 6-figures in business with the supplier.
In the worst-case scenario, you’re testing a bunch of products with ads, losing money until you find that one winner.
I’m not saying dropshipping is a bad idea based on that alone… most businesses require you to lose money before you actually make money, so it’s somewhat normal.
But let’s assume you DO, in fact, have the next fidget-spinner craze product months before anyone else knows about it…
That’s great! But now you’re going to need to get people to buy it.
Translation?
- Tens of thousands of dollars in ads
- Tons of time spent split testing to find the best landing page variations, best product descriptions, best ad copy, best ad videos, etc.
Again, some people thrive on that and love it. So if you’re looking for that level of constant testing and gambling, it might be a good fit.
It’s also worth calling out that Facebook has a track record of banning you FOR LIFE from advertising on their platform for dropshipping.
Think about it: it ruins a user’s experience with Facebook when a product shows up 45 days after they’ve ordered it and is nothing like the product they thought they were buying.
So Facebook would rather ban you from their platform than risk a bad user experience.
Suffice to say, it’s a lot of stress for not much payback.
As someone that actually ran a dropshipping business, I can tell you from personal experience that your time can be better spent with other business models.
If you’d prefer a business model that generates recurring, semi-passive income, you may be interested in using the Digital Rental Method.

On May 10, 1999, Mohammed Kamil Sattar was born. “The Ecom King” is a British e-commerce entrepreneur.
Born into a low-income family of aragonite from Pakistan, he immigrated to the United Kingdom in 1979 to seek a better life and more chances.
Kamil Sattar went through the education system, failing his GCSEs and dropping out of college after completing a business level 3 diploma. He stated, “the Education system wasn’t constructed for my purpose or vision; thus I had no drive or need to succeed.”
After dropping out of college, Kamil Sattar went on to work in retail at Primark and JD Sports, earning minimum wage.
Kamil Sattar worked in retail for 8 months before quitting owing to a lack of desire and conflict with his supervisors. “I’m not created for a job or accepting instructions; it doesn’t agree with my DNA; I’m built to create my own destiny,” Kamil Sattar told him.

Kamil Sattar started his business career in 2015.
High-end fashion was a passion of Kamil Sattar’s. He was in love with designers like Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin, and Giuseppe Zanotti but could not purchase any for himself, so he dreamed of owning them all.
He decided to start a high-end buying and reselling business because he knew the best places to get these brands for a low price.
Kamil Sattar began by creating an Instagram page and a Weebly website for marketing and taking orders. After a few months, Kamil would be selling high-end sneakers to celebrities and footballers, allowing Kamil to save up enough cash flow to start another business, which would be a Shopify Dropshipping business.

In 2017 Kamil Sattar launched his first Shopify Dropshipping company selling phone accessories.
For the entire year of 2017, Kamil struggled to thrive with Shopify dropshipping since he wasn’t good at Facebook advertisements and found it challenging. However, in Q4 2017, Kamil discovered his first winning product, an iPhone privacy screen protector, and produced over $20,000 in revenue.

eCom King doesn’t have a website (although Sattar does have one under his name.) His YouTube channel is the only place to go if you’re looking for his teaching materials.
The product’s Instagram account has 21.8k followers, which is a respectable number. However, this is a small number compared to other successful dropshipping gurus and experts available.
According to his different social media pages, Kamil graduated from Shrewsbury College in 2016 at 17, after earning a two-year Merit BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.
That means Sattar met the basic requirements, and he began his Diploma in 2014, at the age of 15! It’s not surprising, then, that Kamil began E-commerce Mentoring at the age of 18 in 2017.

Known as The eCom King, Kamil Sattar doubled his monthly revenue from $35k to $80k. Despite this, the experience wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns. eCom King started online at the age of 15 and went on to fail several times until finally succeeding at the age of 18. Kamil was sad to the verge of suicide on one occasion.

The Ecom King’s 5 Different Income Streams
1st Income Stream: Dropshipping Stores
To begin, consider Shopify dropshipping. Kamil’s monthly revenue exceeds $250k, with a profit of roughly $40k. What about your time? Because partners and virtual assistants perform most of the work, I require two to four hours every day. Furthermore, Facebook advertisements account for the bulk of his revenue.
2nd Income Streams: E-Commerce Mentoring
Second, The eCom King makes money by mentoring others through eCommerce Mentoring, which offers one-on-one coaching.
This portion of the company makes around $15k per month and needs Kamil to work one or two hours every day.
3rd Income Streams: Youtube Channel
Third, Kamil makes money via YouTube. After a slow start (it took Kamil a year to get his first 20k members), he’s now hit his stride, delivering whole Shopify drop-shipping courses for free.
When you consider the global epidemic, where people are losing jobs left and right and seeking methods to generate money online, it’s easy to see how Kamil’s channel is exploding.
It currently pays him around $10,000 per month for three to five hours of time and energy every week.
4th Income Streams: Affiliate Marketing / Digital Marketing
The fourth method is affiliate marketing. When The eCom King recommends a product or software and connects to it with his unique tracking link, he receives a share of any sales.
This earns him roughly $5,000 per month and requires very little of his work because it’s essentially just copying and pasting links below content he’s already creating on YouTube.
5th Income Streams: Arbitrage
The fifth and final source of revenue for the eCom King is arbitrage: purchasing cheap and selling high—again, in the luxury sector. Essentially, Kamil has kept his most discerning clients from his pre-dropshipping days and has become their shoppers.
Kamil spends about an hour a day on WhatsApp, seeing what they want, going out and obtaining it as cheaply as he can, and then selling it to them with a markup.
This earns him between $5,000 and $10,000 every month, depending on the month.

That’s it. Five income streams with combined annual sales of around $80,000 in total revenue every month.
Take away taxes, business, and lifestyle expenses, and keep in mind that he’s only been performing these figures for a short time. I estimated The eCom King’s net worth to be around $500k.

So, time for the question you’ve been waiting for: is eCom King a scam?
No, not technically speaking. They aren’t going to take your money and ride off into the sunset without delivering you access to their course.
It’s 100% possible to make money with this program, but it’s not nearly as simple as Kamil Sattar wants you to think it is.
There is A LOT of upfront work to do, and no guarantee of success.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m all for doing hard work now to collect checks in the future.
But if I’m going to spend 3 months of my life working super hard & spending thousands of dollars, just to break even… it’s just not worth it (in my opinion).

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.
That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.
But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.
2) Ownership & Control: With dropshipping, you don’t actually own anything. You can’t control your product quality or even what the package looks like when it shows up.
