One of the most well-known veterans of the internet business sector, Fred Lam, established Zero Up, a drop shipping training platform that includes instructional videos and software.

The training tool package that Fred created is designed to help entrepreneurs put up and scale their businesses online.

In this review, I will provide you with the information and details you need to know about Zero Up Lab so you can be sure that this isn’t another dropshipping scam.

Fred Lam makes the bold claim that with his training modules and software, he and his team are gonna make sure you get the financial freedom you’ve been dreaming of for a long time – and fast.

And even if you don’t have experience or exposure to dropshipping, you can trust that his methods can kick off your eCommerce store and generate big bucks for you in no time.

Now, this may appear to be a “get rich quick” scheme.

Zero Up Lab is pretty much your standard dropshipping course.

If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know that I don’t like dropshipping as a business model for a few different reasons.

That being said, it IS possible to make money with it, so I want to give you an honest review of this particular program.

But first, let me clear the air on one important thing:

Dropshipping has never been – and will never be – a passive, recurring business. No matter what the guru might tell you, it requires constant work.

I’m telling you this from my own personal experience running several dropshipping stores on both Shopify AND Clickfunnels.

If you’re looking for a business that you’ll need to be super active in, dropshipping might be for you.

If you want to make money while you sleep and travel the world, dropshipping just isn’t it.

The main reason?

To have real success with dropshipping, you need a bulletproof system for finding the hottest new products before anyone else.

In the very best-case scenario, you have a relationship with your supplier, where they give you a heads up on products that are about to pop. These relationships don’t typically come around until you’ve done 6-figures in business with the supplier.

In the worst-case scenario, you’re testing a bunch of products with ads, losing money until you find that one winner.

I’m not saying dropshipping is a bad idea based on that alone… most businesses require you to lose money before you actually make money, so it’s somewhat normal.

But let’s assume you DO in fact have the next fidget-spinner craze product, months before anyone else knows about it…

That’s great! But now you’re gonna need to get people to buy it.

Translation?

• Tens of thousands of dollars in ads
• Tons of time spent split testing to find the best landing page variations, best product descriptions, best ad copy, best ad videos, etc.

Again, some people thrive on that and love it. So if you’re looking for that level of constant testing and gambling, it might be a good fit.

It’s also worth calling out that Facebook has a track record of banning you FOR LIFE from advertising on their platform for dropshipping.

Think about it: it ruins a user’s experience with Facebook when a product shows up 45 days after they’ve ordered it, and is nothing like the product they thought they were buying.

So Facebook would rather ban you from their platform than risk a bad user experience.

Suffice to say, it’s a lot of stress for not-a lot of payback.

As someone that actually ran a dropshipping business, I can tell you from personal experience that your time can be better spent with other business models.

If you’d prefer a business model that generates recurring, semi-passive income, you may be interested in using the Digital Rental Method.

• No sketchy suppliers
• No razor-thin margins
• No banned ad accounts
• No super angry customers
• No spending $10K testing an ad campaign

It’s where you can supposedly learn everything about putting up and running an online business. A place where you can access learning to advance your skills and adapt to the constantly changing world of the internet.

Created by Fred Lam, the course offers training and mentorship for anyone who wants to shift to the eCommerce business.

Fred Lam’s Zero Up course will get you started with your online business even if you have no dropshipping background. His system, according to him, will put you ahead of the competition in the online business world.

What I like about his training tool package is that it does not require any coding skills to build your sales funnel.

It quickly generates traffic for your e-commerce store and builds a fully compliant online store where your products can be promoted effectively.

Who Is Fred Lam?

Fred Lam is a rags-to-riches e-commerce and software entrepreneur. While growing his enterprises, he worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant. In the end, Fred became the youngest marketing manager in BMW Group Canada after working his way through the ranks in the media purchasing area.

It wasn’t long ago that he was raking in $40 million or more from his many businesses. The Traffic Trilogy, a book about internet advertising, was also written by Fred Lam.

He is the genius behind the online courses and software that have helped many people reach their first million – Zero Up.

To date, Fred Lam is a successful figure in the eCommerce industry. His proven success in e-commerce has helped countless others to follow through.

He has become the go-to guy when it comes to paid ads and dropshipping.

What To Expect In This Course

Besides teaching you about dropshipping, Zero Up Lab also gives you access to a special piece of software that enables you to set up your Shopify site properly.

Now, this is something that got my attention because not all dropshipping courses include a one-stop software to do just that.

For this reason, Zero Up is not a course on dropshipping but instead a program or a system that helps you manage your e-commerce store.

The following are the highlights of the program:

Product Engine With AliExpress

Zero Up’s product engine can search for millions of goods thanks to its connection with AliExpress. Automated order fulfillment and delivery are available via AliExpress.

By just selecting which products to sell by the store owners, the rest is completed by Zero Up’s software.

Shopify Integration

A partnership with Shopify allows Zero Up customers to choose from 10 pre-designed themes and shops already set up. It also gives users the ability to tweak the settings to their liking.

In this way, store owners can select and match their niche to the most fitting design. In just 17 minutes, new online stores can be created and launched by eCommerce learners. And experienced Shopify owners can fully utilize all its features and tools.

Funnel Builder

It’s simple to create front-end content and pages for upselling and down selling, using Zero Up’s new functionality.

These pages use their own URLs and are hosted on the domain of the store. It uses a drag and drop interface which enables deploying landing pages quicker than most.

Profit Multiplier

Another one-of-a-kind Zero Up function or tool is this one. Your sales will be optimized and the average order value per transaction will be raised.

You can do coupons, text, videos, and images to pull in customers and retain them.

Training Tools/ Support

Access to 10 training video courses and related materials is included with the Zero Up membership.

Module 1: Store Creation:

12 Videos | Total Length: 2 Hours & 4 Minutes

Module 1 talks about your online store creation. It introduces you to the basic principles of dropshipping to help you get started.

This part is especially crucial for those without any experience and unsure which product line is sure to sell in the market.

Zero Up helps you with your niche selection. If you are unsure which niche to go for, Zero Up provides you with resources on where to find some good ideas for your product line.

Here, Fred covers one of the most important aspects of setting up an online business. He shares how you can do this within the US legal framework which I think most dropshipping courses fail to cover.

Also included in this module are:

• Business structure
• How to purchase and set up a domain in Shopify
• How and why branding is critical to your store’s success
• A quick run-down of how to set up and get started with your Shopify store (Including email, checkout, shipping, and linking Google Analytics)

Then, of course, Module 1 also introduces you to Fred’s exclusive Zero Up Software. More is discussed in the succeeding modules.

Module 2: Inventory Arbitrage

6 Videos| Total Length: 1 Hour & 28 Minutes 

Apart from the training videos, subscribers are provided with additional 100 PDF documents of top-selling product reports

In this module, the concept of inventory arbitrage is presented. Inventory arbitrage is a fancy way to call online selling without inventory.

Fred goes on to share the sites where you can look for the best products that you can use for sale including their suppliers.

What I like best about this module is that they teach you here how the software’s system can find ads that your potential competitors may have been using to promote products that you also intend to put up for sale in your store.

This puts you two steps ahead of the competition in the dropshipping business simply because it saves you so much time, energy, and money.

Part of the list of important topics discussed in this module are:

• How to boost perceived value
• Different approaches/ techniques to pricing strategies
• Significance of product descriptions

As mentioned earlier, you get the 100 pdf documents of the top-selling product reports for your Shopify store.

But the problem with this is that other subscribers to the program would also want to sell these products.

Module 3: Turbocharging Your Store

 9 Videos | Total Length: 1 Hour & 38 Minutes 

One of Fred’s invaluable takeaways in his program is found in Module 3.

Here, he strongly recommends supercharging or turbocharging your online store with apps to do a bunch of helpful stuff for your store including automated email marketing, social proofing, coupon creation, and a lot more.

Fred gives some swell advice on how you can create sales funnels that work and which apps are most suitable to use.

I have to warn you though on the following:

• These apps DO NOT COME CHEAP. The most expensive app is valued at $160 per month, which is a product designed by one of his friends.
• FRED DOESN’T TELL YOU that to be able to use email marketing with his program, you need to have a large email list first.
• Of course, HE ALSO DOES NOT mention how difficult building this email list could be. It requires time and a lot of effort on your part.

The apps that Fred recommends for Zero Up are proven quality apps that can really increase your sales -IF you can afford those apps, that is.

Module 4: Creating A Sales Funnel

 5 Videos | Total Length: 1 Hour & 5 Minutes 

Module 4 introduces you to the sales funnel and how effectively you can create it. Here, you will encounter some more features of his software.

Below are two of the top tools shared in this module which I have previously discussed:

• Funnel Builder
• Profit Multiplier

These two are clearly the best tools you can have in this program.

On top of this, Fred shares in this module how your Average Order Value can be increased.

Module 5: Advertising Your Store

 16 Videos | Total Length: 3 Hours & 27 Minutes 

Module 5 is all about advertising your online store.

It starts by introducing you to Facebook including how you can maximize its use in promoting and selling your products.

Module 5, I’d say, is one of Fred’s very solid modules because it contains very comprehensive coverage of the subject.

Fred and his team make sure that you learn everything you need to know about Facebook Advertising including FB Pixel, types of Ads, and scaling.

He even shares his very own formula on how to scale your ads to the moon.

Another course that has the same extensive coverage on Facebook Advertising is Frank Hatchett’s eCom Elites.

Module 6: Store Management

 9 Videos | Total Length: 2 Hours & 8 Minutes 

This part is sort of a hit-and-miss for me. I’m not all too sold out with the content here and I’ll tell you why.

But first, let me tell you what good this module offers:

• Fred shares with you how to start and maintain a daily routine in managing your store.
• He tells you common customer issues and how you can address them.
• He also touches on chargebacks made by credit cards and how you can deal with them.

However, Fred fails to cover the following equally important areas:

• How to interpret Google Analytics data as well as your Shopify store.
• How to start and execute automated email marketing
• How you can perform split testing on your own
• How to scale store management via VAs or virtual assistants.

Module 7 – Traffic Genius

Two Sub-Modules with a Total of 28 Videos; Total Length: 5 Hours & 52 Minutes 

Bing

I don’t think that other dropshipping courses included “Bing” in their course outline, which I believe is a big miss for these course creators.

Though globally it makes up for only 4.98% of the search engine traffic, it still translates to about 60 million people and users.

Besides this, there are other strong grounds why Bing is such a good platform to advertise.

Here, Fred teaches you how you can set up your Bing Ads and how you can launch them.

Google Ads

Fred gives you excellent advice and tips on how you can tweak effectively your Google Ads campaign.

However, he misses out on one important thing – mobile advertising.

Today’s digital age just demands it and it just wouldn’t change for a very, very long time.

Also, the stuff that he shares about Google AdWords does not offer anything new. There is nothing brand new to learn.

On a positive note, Fred does a great job in adding Google Quality Score in the outline as this topic is extremely important.

Then again, after reaching out to Zero Up’s customer support, there is no feedback as to whether or not they have an update for this.

Overall, the content of Module 7 is pretty decent.

However, they seriously need to consider updating these courses.

Module 8 – Zero Up Jewels

Module 8 is all about teaching you how to create your jewelry line and sell them in your store.

Module 9 – Weekly Bootcamp

Module 9 is another great inclusion to the course outline.

Zero Up members get access to live bootcamp sessions with Fred himself.

Here, he shares helpful tips and advice on top of the opportunity to ask him as many questions as they can regarding his program.

He would even take a student’s website or ad campaign to walk them through how it can be improved.

This is one cool addition where Fred can interact with his students.

Module 10 – Bonus Trainings

There are several upsells in Zero Up’s other courses. Because of Fred, they aren’t as forceful about it as other dropshipping courses.

If you use Zero Up, you won’t be hit with annoying upsells.

Who Is It For?

Fred Lam’s Zero Up is for anyone who wants to start their online entrepreneurial journey in the dropshipping business.

It is perfect for both newbies and veterans because the content covers a range of topics suitable for both markets.

So whether you are someone who has zero eCommerce experience or someone who has been in the dropshipping business for a long time, Zero Up is designed to accommodate you.

I strongly recommend investing in high-quality education especially since the competition in the dropshipping business is tough.

Are There Any Zero Up Complaints?

From its members, you’d likely not find any.

The point is Zero Up is a legit course. Most probably, the ones who will complain are those who fail in putting in the effort to succeed with the program.

I also didn’t find any Zero Up review in TrustPilot.

If I Want To Start An eCommerce Business, Is This Program Suitable For Me?

The answer is a resounding yes!

The Zero Up course is suitable for both newcomers and veterans in the dropshipping business.

The course outline is designed to cater to these two, with or without experience.

You will definitely spend on other costs besides the upfront investment. They are:

• Your Shopify subscription
• Website domain
• Logo design
• Ad budget

But what’s great about dropshipping is that it requires a small capital upfront to get started.

While the cost differs depending on what you require, you can run your eCommerce store for as low as a hundred bucks.

Also, it’s worth noting that setting up and running a dropshipping online store is considerably cheaper than putting up a traditional eCommerce store simply because you won’t need any physical inventory nor take care of the shipping.

These make dropshipping the best option to start your online business.

Why Is There A No-Refund Policy?

Fred created this with a no-refund policy in mind simply because he believes that adding it would give potential members the option to give up before they even start.

Fred designed the program to accommodate even individuals with no technical skills or experience in building an eCommerce business. The program is carried out in a step-by-step fashion with weekly webinars and is a great tool for automation.

So with these in place, there is really no excuse for anyone not to learn.

But the good news is, that they do offer a three-day cancellation policy.

You have 3 days to gauge if you’re up to doing the program and cancel it to get a full refund.

How Long Will It Take Me To Get Results From This Program? Can You Make Money With Zero Up?

This, of course, is dependent on two things: how quickly you can finish the whole program and how long it takes for you to take action.

Some have seen results in just a week after applying what they’ve learned. Others took longer.

Like any other dropshipping course, you can make money out of Zero Up if you put in all the work and follow through with Fred’s methods.

And also if you’re willing to invest in the upsells to optimize the use of the program.

You can certainly make money with dropshipping, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a dropshipper (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $50,000+ per month teaches some of the same dropshipping skills but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Is Zero Up A Scam?

So, time for the question you’ve been waiting for: is Zero Up Lab a scam?

No, not technically speaking. They aren’t going to take your money and ride off into the sunset without delivering you access to their course.

It’s 100% possible to make money with this program, but it’s not nearly as simple as Fred Lam wants you to think it is.

There is A LOT of upfront work to do, and no guarantee of success.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m all for doing hard work now so that I can collect checks in the future.

But if I’m going to spend 3 months of my life working super hard & spending thousands of dollars, just to break even… it’s just not worth it (in my opinion).

Think about it: what if you worked that same 3 months with just an hour or two per day, and in return, you could collect a $500-$2,000 check that continues to come in every month?

Even better, what if you could actually get that first check in as little as a week?

And what if you could double or triple it over the next month or two?

That’s what you get when you use the Digital Rental Method.

All you really need is a laptop and some internet.

Some of my friends are Digital Rental Method that run their 6-figure businesses from:

• Camping trips at national parks
• Beachfront in Hawaii
• On the road in a camper van (with a pet pig!)

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

• I’ve drop-shipped a toilet bowl putting green on Shopify
• I’ve drop-shipped jade rollers via Clickfunnels
• I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
• I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.

Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, using the Digital Rental Method is for you.

Why?

1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

2) Ownership & Control: With dropshipping, you don’t actually own anything. You can’t control your product quality, or even what the package looks like when it shows up.

Technically you own your Shopify site… but ad platforms could shut you down at a moment’s notice… so you don’t really have much control there.

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

With the Digital Rental Method, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

3) Fulfillment: Alright, so you don’t have any inventory… but that worry has been replaced with the pains of overseas fulfillment.

That means your customer is going to have to wait 3-4 weeks to receive their order.

Then add in the current global supply chain woes… and you’re looking at 5-6-7 weeks!

Then the customer slaps you with a refund, and all of that time spent testing and spending money on ads was for nothing.

You don’t have to worry about any of that when you’re renting out digital properties.

4) It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with dropshipping, you would need to sell twice as much inventory, or double your profit margins. And I can guarantee you (from my Shopify dropshipping days), that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

5) Big Margins: With dropshipping, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for growing traffic to your product.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

6) You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with dropshipping is that you’re usually finding some product that’s complete garbage, and are tricking people into buying it. It provides no real value to them or the world in general.

It’s cool in the short term to make a quick buck, but in the long term, it gets really old, really fast.

But With the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with.
