I’m going to review multiple aspects of eCom Domination to decide if it really is the best dropshipping training platform out there.

eCom Domination is pretty much your standard dropshipping course.
If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know that I don’t like dropshipping as a business model for a few different reasons.
That being said, it IS possible to make money with it, so I want to give you an honest review of this particular program.
But first, let me clear the air on one important thing:
Dropshipping has never been – and will never be – a passive, recurring business. No matter what the guru might tell you, it requires constant work.
I’m telling you this from my own personal experience running several dropshipping stores on both Shopify AND Clickfunnels.
If you’re looking for a business that you’ll need to be super active in, dropshipping might be for you.
If you want to make money while you sleep and travel the world, dropshipping just isn’t it.
The main reason?
To have real success with dropshipping, you need a bulletproof system for finding the hottest new products before anyone else.
In the very best case scenario, you have a relationship with your supplier, where they give you a heads up on products that are about to pop. These relationships don’t typically come around until you’ve done 6-figures in business with the supplier.
In the worst-case scenario, you’re testing a bunch of products with ads, losing money until you find that one winner.
I’m not saying dropshipping is a bad idea based on that alone… most businesses require you to lose money before you actually make money, so it’s somewhat normal.
But let’s assume you DO in fact have the next fidget-spinner craze product, months before anyone else knows about it…
That’s great! But now you’re gonna need to get people to buy it.
Translation?
- Tens of thousands of dollars in ads
- Tons of time spent split testing to find the best landing page variations, best product descriptions, best ad copy, best ad videos, etc.
Again, some people thrive on that and love it. So if you’re looking for that level of constant testing and gambling, it might be a good fit.
It’s also worth calling out that Facebook has a track record of banning you FOR LIFE from advertising on their platform for dropshipping.
Think about it: it ruins a user’s experience with Facebook when a product shows up 45 days after they’ve ordered it, and is nothing like the product they thought they were buying.
So Facebook would rather ban you from their platform than risk a bad user experience.
Suffice it to say, it’s a lot of stress for not a lot of payback.
As someone that actually ran a dropshipping business, I can tell you from personal experience that your time can be better spent with other business models.

Furthermore, they claim that even if you are a complete newbie, you can simply follow along because the training provides a step-by-step guide for developing your online business without any pushy sales tactics.
This is a very common example of an internet marketing product. I think it’s a desperate move when people quickly make exaggerated claims about making huge sums of money.
Is this another too-good-to-be-true online course that leaves you with nothing but drained-out pockets?

As a result, the video modules in the Shopify Store Setup course overview are practically the same. This is no different because James doesn’t offer any insider info that isn’t already available on YouTube.
His course also provides an hour of over-the-shoulder training about creating your store from the ground up. Topics include the following:
- Choosing a theme
- Adding pages
- Customizing colors
- Adding a badge
- And so on
This is followed by a discussion of the various payment processors, stock order processing (including how to customize the delivery time frames, shipping preferences, and product fulfillment), and product fulfillment.
The remaining modules (lessons) for the week will teach you how to:
- Customers to your online shop
- Average order value
- Customer lifetime value.
The week comes to a close with customer support setup.

WEEK 2: Product Research
James emphasizes product research method and selection in Week 2 of eCom Domination V5. This is a compulsory module since the quality of your online store is largely dependent on selecting the right products.
I do appreciate how James makes an effort to discuss various approaches for finding winning products and for showing how to check your options before you start marketing them.
This part is almost always overlooked in other courses, but James devoted nearly an hour and a half to it. This is sound, actionable guidance.
James also discusses how you can check for reliable, high-quality vendors on AliExpress, as well as how you can write highly-converting product descriptions.
Finally, he discusses how you can find local vendors far superior to suppliers from China.
Total lesson time: 2 hours 46 minutes.
WEEK 3: Facebook Ads Fundamentals
James spends the necessary time (42 minutes) to offer you a thorough explanation of Facebook Ads and the benefits of using this marketing strategy.
He then discusses the different Ad Types, their purposes, and how to set up the Business Manager account. Additionally, there are helpful sections on Facebook Targeting, FB Creatives, and Copywriting. James will then walk you through creating your first Facebook ad.
The last two modules contain the most critical lessons. The first instructs you on data analysis. This is critical because it tells you when you can scale and end your Facebook Ads/ This is critical because it tells you when you can scale and end your Facebook Ads/ Campaigns.
James then walks you through the process of launching CBO testing campaigns. The 85 minutes spent on these two videos are worth it because they provide great information and insight into Facebook Ads.

Here, James teaches advanced tactics and Facebook Ads techniques.
This involves separate modules focusing solely on Scaling, Audiences, and Retargeting, which are particularly essential for specialized strategies, using Facebook Power Tools, Manual Bidding, and utilizing Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO).
You’d find quite a few insider tips here.

WEEK 5: Email Marketing
James tells you all you need to learn concerning email marketing, which begins with an overview.
Important topics such as Cart Abandonment and techniques for re-engaging consumers who added goods to their cart but did not complete the purchase are discussed here. James also explains how to build a “New Customer Nurture Flow” to increase front-end revenue.
The week concludes with another round of discussion on advanced email marketing strategies and navigation processes.

WEEK 6: Alternative Traffic Sources
It’s impressive that James took into account other Advertising Platforms rather than focusing only on Facebook Ads. However, the information and strategies he suggests are quite basic and would not get you much progress.
This week, James discusses Instagram configuration, identifying Influencers, and bargaining with them. He also discusses very simple SEO tactics and how to use YouTube to gain further exposure.
Total lesson time: 1 hour 7 minutes.
WEEK 7: Managing Operations
This week, James discusses areas of the business responsible for managing issues. This involves recruiting Virtual Assistants (VAs), managing the finances, and meeting orders.
James provides no new insights here, and the approach and material used are quite general.

WEEK 8: Moving To The Next Level
Week 8 is all about transforming the store into a profitable brand. James also discusses the importance of using the Hybrid Model and how to set up a one-product shop.
WEEK 9: 7-Figure Mindset
Mindset for James is extremely relevant, and it’s progressively being introduced into most dropshipping courses. Well, if they can bring to the table something I’ve not heard before, that’d be nice. But the thing is, you can almost always find stuff about “mindset” on YouTube – for free.
While it’s important to stay focused when things get rough, I wouldn’t devote a whole week just to this topic – quite overkill, if you ask me.

The price of the course isn’t specified on the official website. However, you can get a general idea from the Ultimate eCom System price tag, a dropshipping course introduced in 2019 by Steve Tan and Evan Tan.
Ultimate eCom System was originally priced at $1997 but was later reduced to $1,497. It’s then likely that the eCom Domination Masterclass would be sold at a comparable price, about $1500.
Here’s What I Really Think
eCom Domination is not a rip-off – it’s a genuine dropshipping business model. This training program is one of the most comprehensive eCom courses ever made. It contains approximately 200 simple-to-follow and actionable videos about how you can master eCommerce.
However, learning and building your company takes time, much like any other type of business out there. Nothing is really as simple as pressing a button, so don’t be misled if anyone tells you otherwise. I’m not suggesting Sam did so, but the marketing can be taken with a grain of salt.
Overall, the teaching is satisfactory. However, I discovered that it does not include in-depth SEO training and that you hardly get any assistance.
To create a successful eCommerce business, you might need a lot of SEO training and additional support.
You can certainly make money with Ecom Domination, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a dropshipper (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.
But there’s a lot that comes along with dropshipping that many people struggle with.

There is A LOT of upfront work to do, and no guarantee of success.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m all for doing hard work now so that I can collect checks in the future.
But if I’m going to spend 3 months of my life working super hard & spending thousands of dollars, just to break even… it’s just not worth it (in my opinion).
