Job Killing teaches you an online business model known as “lead generation.” In my personal opinion, this is probably the top business model out there.
While Job Killing has its merits, it is NOT my top recommendation if you’re interested in Lead Generation.
My top program in the lead generation category is going to be Josh Osborne & Sean Kochel’s Digital Rental Method program.
The thing is: there’s a good way and a bad way to run a lead generation business.
The bad way is using outdated SEO tactics and sketchy “black-hat” Google My Business listings to send phone calls to local businesses.

Dan Klein founded Job Killing, a training and coaching program designed to educate small businesses on how to profit from a local lead-generating strategy. His case studies teach you how to develop websites, rank on the first page of search engines, and rent them out to local companies.
This training program has been around for almost 7 years now. I guess you could call these guys the real deal! They have had their ups and downs throughout the years, but what they have been able to help others achieve throughout that is awe-inspiring.
So now that you’ve got a little synopsis of what JK is all about…you’re probably wondering who these guys are and what they have to do with Job Killing…
Who Is Dan Klein?
To his credit, Dan Klein is the brains behind the rank and rent method.
He came up with the concept of building a lead generating website, optimizing it, and then renting it out to small local companies.
The man has a solid marketing background, and this expertise propelled him to fame and fortune as an internet entrepreneur.
Dan has been the face of Job Killing since the beginning of 2017. His work on this company strategy began in 2008 after he was let off due to the recession.
It wasn’t until he was sure of his capacity to educate people on how to earn money that he created the job-killing program we know today.
He’s the real deal too!
So much so that some of his haters straight-up copied his course and training and tried to pass it off as their own!
I’ll get into that later, though…
Dan’s a very charismatic individual and a real joy to listen to; it’s probably one of the reasons why so many people have found success with him…he just makes it so hard on you to give up.
Who Is Ippei Kanehara?
Ippei is one of Job Killing’s greatest success stories!
He had just a few dollars when he first joined the organization in 2014. Everyone in the office loves to joke about having to design a special payment plan just for him.
Because you’ve undoubtedly heard of or visited Ippei’s blog, I bring him up. When it comes to his blog, he does precisely what Dan preaches.
Yep, there’s a good chance that you may have even visited Ippei’s blog before mine. The dude is an SEO wizard!
Throughout the years in the Job Killing program, Ippei has put up many different case study videos of himself and others on his YouTube channel. He’s extremely transparent!
For example, his past is an open book. He graduated college in 2012 and worked a dead-end full-time job at an auto parts store until 2015.
He absolutely hated his job, and when he was on his phone call with Dan at the end of 2014, he knew that this would be the one thing to change everything for him.
He grinded his way through building lead gen sites for about 3 months, and after 8 months, he was making 10k!
Ippei hasn’t looked back since, and now he’s making over $52k per month in passive income!
What Is Lead Generation?
It’s possible to generate leads in a variety of ways, including using social media, such as Facebook advertisements or Google AdWords.
It’s any method of connecting a client to a profitable small company for both parties.
It’s also a sizable industry.
Think about it. This is exactly the business model that Home Advisor makes millions on every year! They simply capture the lead and send it off to local business owners for a fee.
Although…Home Advisor isn’t the greatest by any means.
So what kind of lead generation online business model does Dan teach?
How Does Job Killing Work?
According to Dan’s perspective, you may earn a lot of money with lead generation by putting up many websites in various local marketplaces around the nation.
Local lead generation is what he calls it, and it’s beneficial to small companies in the area.
All you have to do is pick a niche in a city of your choice, build the site, rank it, and pass off the leads to one of the local businesses in that niche!
This is all pretty similar to the program one of my reviewers is in that makes money for him each and every month, like clockwork!
Dan claims that local businesses like it more when they are receiving leads from everyday people just like themselves. Nobody likes dealing with Home Advisor, where all they do is pass around non-exclusive leads.
That’s another thing!
Dan preaches sending these small businesses exclusive leads because of how much of a selling point that is!
When business owners are looking for more work, they want to find jobs that are typically just shoe-ins; they don’t like having to go through the whole bidding war phase.
All that does in the end for any business owner is waste time and money, making it one big race to the bottom.
But if you could send them a job exclusively, where they don’t have to worry about bidding nearly as much…well, you get the picture.
So how does he train you?
Training
Dan trains all his students in 2 different ways.
The first training is video style. Dan has videos that he has prerecorded that walk you through the whole entire process of setting up one of these lead generation websites, even to the point of how to get paid.
The second type of training Dan offers is through his private Facebook group, where he goes live twice a week to answer questions that students might have or give general updates.
So what do you get in the video training?
Video Training
In the video training, Dan will walk you through how to build your first website. Literally, step-by-step.
You are able to follow along and build the website side by side with him. He makes it extremely easy to understand. He has been known to tell people on phone calls when they’re concerned about the difficulty that he has had his 6-year-old son and his own 60+-year-old father build a site.
Both of those statements are true; by the way, he’s not exaggerating.
He doesn’t just stop the digital marketing training there, though…
Beyond showing you how to set up and publish the page…he shows you the proper techniques on-site and off-site that will make the search engines love your websites.
He explains the proper way how to write content, explaining the importance of keyword density.
Dan also shows you how to properly set up your H1 header, your page tags, and your meta descriptions. He explains that this is important because these are things on your site that tell the search bots what you’re trying to target.
Beyond all the on-page SEO stuff, including setting up their call tracking software, Dan teaches off-page SEO as well.
It’s not easy, and it takes hard work, but the results are more than worth it in the end!
The most annoying part of off-page SEO seems to be the backlinking part. It can take forever sometimes to find good backlinks.
Dan trains you on how to find these good backlinks, though, even giving you short-cut methods of finding the best for your market!
He also walks you through how to set up your GMB listing…
These are important because now you could be on the first page in 2 different spots! Talk about increasing your chance of clicks!
After showing you how to set up and get your GMB live, he shows you how to find and get citations for it. Think of citations for your GMB, like backlinks for your website.
Beyond that, Dan has some videos that show you how to prospect, shoot screencasts, and get all the way up to the close.
In my review pass, I personally felt as though he could have been a little bit more in-depth. They do offer some more in-depth sales training with a fair upsell price tag, however.
FB Community
The other part of this training, which is ongoing, is the private JK Facebook group. Having a group like this isn’t new in the local online marketing course space…but having one as active as this one is!
In my little sneak peek of the course, I was able to see just how often people were posting and interacting with the group.
These aren’t spam posts either, asking for your Whatsapp number. The group is heavily moderated.
The group gets several posts daily, and virtually every single question that gets asked has either already been answered or is answered almost right away.
On top of that, Dan goes live in the group twice a week! These live streams tend to be about 1-2 hours long each, and you can ask any kinds of questions you want.
Literally anything.
He’s been known to call prospects that are giving his students the runaround!
But not in a bad way.
Sometimes newbies can be fresh to the space that when they generate leads, they can find themselves being taken advantage of by business owners (clients) who won’t pay them as promised.
Dan has then gone to bat for his students and helped them get the situation settled in one way or another, all live, by the way.
I was pretty impressed at just how well put together and moderated the Job Killing Facebook group was.
How Much Does Job Killing Cost?
The Job Killing program cost is not advertised. The only way to find out is to schedule a call with one of their coaches to find out whether or not you are a good fit to join.
After all, they don’t accept everybody and are known to have turned several people down for not having what they think it takes to succeed in this online business model.
There are some prices listed online in different forums and different blogs, but those prices are not accurate.

This course is great for those who are just now jumping into the entrepreneur game and are looking to make money online. It’s no secret that lead gen is better than the Amazon FBA business model at this point.

The support team in Job Killing is matched by very few online courses.
High-Level SEO Training
The SEO and internet marketing tactics taught inside Job Killing are virtually unmatched. In fact, many, many people and internet trolls that come out and talk smack about the course are just people that have copied the course and are trying to sell their version.
In other words…Job Killing is the OG.
Great Coaching
In some online course programs, it’s not uncommon to see the founder take a step back or successful students move on altogether.
In the Job Killing group, Dan consistently shows up, and students that have already made it, like Ippei, continue to help others grow.
Cons:
Takes Time
They aren’t misleading about this, but the online business model does take some time to grow. It definitely isn’t something that is going to make you rich overnight…, so if you’re expecting that, this isn’t the course for you.
Fake Reviews
Unfortunately, when you’ve created something like they have, it opens the floodgates to haters. There are several fake reviews online about Job Killing scams and the people involved.
In fact, many people who create these negative reviews are just trying to steal traffic off the name and promote their own course.
Sales
In my opinion, the regular training did not dive deep enough into the sales aspect you’ll need to learn at some point down the road. I would have liked to see more sales training that wasn’t in the form of upsells.

Well, while I’m almost positive that the best model would just be having money handed to you, this is a close second. But honestly, lead gen is one of the most passive income models you could ask for!
It’s like digital real estate, minus all the expenses in between, like property managers and maintenance fees.
It’s even better than Amazon FBA because this doesn’t require you to front $10,000 on a product that might not even turn a profit.
The truth is that if you are looking to make money online and be able to have a large profit margin…organic lead gen is likely your only way to go.
Aside from profit margins, you also have the most control.
If you were to try and run a lead generation biz using Facebook ads…you might have some success, but statistically speaking, your account is likely to be suspended within 6 months, and everything you built up is gone overnight.
A website ranked in google can’t disappear overnight…
Facebook ads are also easily copied, and your conversions can change overnight.
Not to mention CPC is constantly changing, and you can be in the negative quicker than you’d like to think.
Paid traffic cuts into your profit margins as well. If you have a flat rate deal with your is $20 a lead, but it takes you $12 to generate it…you only profit $8.
Whereas, organically, you can see that you’d keep all $20.
There are just so many reasons why organic lead gen is the way to go…but we don’t wanna bore you with all the reasons…

Alright, time for the $1,000,000 question: is Job Killing actually a scam?
No, it’s not a scam, technically speaking. They aren’t going to take your money and run off, leaving you empty-handed. It’s actually a halfway decent lead generation course.
It’s just not my top choice.
The Digital Rental Method program is unique. They give you over 30 proven templates (ad copy, targeting, keywords, exact landing pages, etc.) so that you can hit the ground running.
The people that run the program actually have an agency that does 7-figures per year, which is a major advantage over most other lead generation courses.
