Powur Network Marketing Company
Powur is an MLM company that provides low-cost solar installation proposals for residential homes. They offer potential clients with a lesser monthly utility bill compared to other solar panel companies out there.
Aside from that, Powur imposed a service-first strategy which gives them confidence in selling the solar project. The company doesn’t manufacture panels, they simply partner with other solar electric companies for the installation process.
You’re probably on this review because you consider Powur network as a side hustle… but is this the right program for you to earn incurring income?
MLMs obviously show off high interest for you to join the business or even try their service.
It supposedly makes you a “six-figure marketer,” yet most participants don’t even make $100 by promoting someone else’s goods and services.
I want to be completely honest with this review, so…
MLMs like Powur Solar are a bit of a mixed bag. They CAN be a legitimate way to make money, but some have a reputation for literally ruining people’s lives – so it’s important to know what you’re getting since each one is unique.
Like most of my readers, you were probably introduced to this one via a friend or some influencer you trust online.
And it makes sense why so many people recommend them:
Making money outside of a 9-5 can be… life-changing, to say the least.
So in this article, I want to help you explore two things:
- If MLMs are actually a worthwhile business to pursue
- If Powur Solar is a worthwhile MLM
Before that, I want to clear the air on something.
There are A LOT of people out there who bash all MLMs in any form. I am not one of those people.
Instead, I want to genuinely educate you about them so that you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
If you’re unfamiliar with what MLMs actually do:
They’re businesses in which you pay money to a company for the ability to sell their products.
Sometimes the products are actually kind of decent (I still remember my mom throwing pampered-chef parties when I was younger).
Other times the products are really poorly made and come with a high price tag.
Typically, the only way to really make money is to get people (mostly friends & family) to sign up with you for a recurring subscription.
If the product is 100% legitimate & valuable, it’s entirely possible to get people to sign-up and continue paying you.
If the product is subpar, you’ll usually burn those bridges kinda quickly and end up with $0 coming in each month.
The biggest issue I’ve seen is that his puts significant stress on your personal relationships, as you’re reliant on selling to your “network.”
Think about it: if you KNEW that every time your friend Sally called, she’d be trying to sell you on one of her products… you’d eventually stop answering Sally’s calls.
Now, this doesn’t mean MLMs are outright bad… it means you need to know what type of MLM you’re getting yourself into before you sign up.
Again, some MLMs provide real value to people, but MOST don’t – and so in this article we’re going to explore what the case is with
But before that, I want to ask you a question: what if there was a way to build actual recurring, semi-passive income?
Income that:
- Doesn’t have inventory
- Doesn’t make you sell to your friends & family
- Doesn’t force you to recruit people onto your “team”
Something that you could make anywhere from $2,000 – $10,000 with consistently, month after month?
A stream of income that you can build as high (or low) as you feel like building it?
If that sounds interesting, you might want to think about becoming a Digital Landlord.

Powur Solar Review
Product: Solar Panels
Founder: Jonathan Budd
Location: 2683 Via de la Valle # 321G, Del Mar, CA 92014, USA

Powur is a residential solar installation company that claims to provide you with the best value. This network marketing company wants to shift your homes from consuming standard electricity to solar energy. Yep, they believe that their project will radically reduce your monthly bills.
Other than that, you’re also given a chance to partner with them. They currently open 7 career opportunities – of course, these job positions are either marketing operations or solar electric grind related.
If you’re thinking of other ways to earn, you could join their powur enterprise as well. But you’ll have to walk through several orientations and a couple of training before you advertise Powur’s solar panels.
Who Owns Powur Company?
Jonathan Budd is the founder and CEO of Powur PBC, one of today’s most prominent solar energy companies. He allegedly runs this multi-million dollar business for almost 9 years.
Jonathan claims himself as the master of network marketing business, he began selling solar panels in 2014 and inculcates MLM strategy with Powur solar system and operations.
I’ll discuss how to partner with them later. But let’s first talk about Jonathan Budd to see if this dude is a credible head business partner.
After getting a psychology degree, Jonathan decided to change track and build a home-based business. He claims to be the fastest and youngest success story in direct sales history with over $10,000,000 income at the age of 26 -but none of it was proven true.
In order to help others achieve their own success, he launched Empowered Entrepreneurs, which allegedly served approximately 100,000 consumers since its inception.
Jonathan’s motivation goes beyond financial gains and monetizing skills. This dude longs to fulfill a deeper desire in serving humanity.
That’s why he formed Global Transformation Council, which supports non-profit groups that experience some of the world’s greatest challenges.
A portion of his income was also donated to a few charities like Freedom from Hunger and Pachamama Alliance.
He then brags about running his first MLM company with thousands of sales representatives. Powur claims that they’re one of the most followed network marketing companies.
But as I check the data, the number of the sales reps isn’t included on the website and Powur’s Fb page only got 11K likes – seriously, it’s nothing huge.
In my honest opinion, accuracy matters to any business model, it’s what would keep the business in the long run, especially in building up MLMs.
Supposed that you want to sell solar panels, be true to every offer while working on your marketing tactics and strategies.
What Is Powur All About?
Jonathan Budd envisions building sustainable energy worldwide. He highly promotes that renewable energy preserves humanity’s future.
He also believes that massive client would welcome the idea of business that allowed them to obtain financial freedom and make an environmental impact at the same time.
According to Jonathan, a portion of their income obtained from the solar installation projects goes to Amazon rainforest preservation.
Actually, that advocacy is strongly connected with their sales strategy. The more they pique people’s desire to do a good cause, the more they gain potential prospects.
This company always sells their licensed solar installers, reliable management team, and secured solar installation process.
They scatter approximately 6,000 independent representatives who have sold tens of thousands of Powur’s residential solar systems through the years.
I summarize the company’s provided timeline so we could see their background. Note that these things are only the top-liner stories per year, who knows what happened behind the curtain?
Most ventures show off their achievements, they even disregard losses to make people believe that they got a strong foundation.

What Does Powur Offer?
Keep in mind that they don’t sell or design their own solar panel. They partnered with solar manufacturers and independent energy consultants to do the installation and utility process.
Powur only acts as distributors to help homeowners or customers cut electric bill through this alternative provider.

If you want to be a member, you have to choose between Powur Enterprise and Powur Enterprise Pro programs.

How To Earn Money With Powur Solar Panels?
Powur’s Solar Ambassador
They will pay you to share the benefits of their solar power. Every time you refer a homeowner to go for solar installation, you’ll earn a $1,000 commission.
Just a simple tip: You have to emphasize how clients can save thousands on energy costs to get referrals. That’s the most used sales tactic in any solar panel company.
There are three basic steps to become a solar ambassador:
- Fill in your details for free sign up
- Have a conversation with a homeowner, convince them about the benefits of solar, and grab a copy of their electric bill (Make sure they’ll say yes to the project)
- Share the electric bill with Powur. Get paid $1,000 when the system is installed.
The more people you refer, the more chances you have to get commission checks deposited directly into your bank account.
On the other hand, MLM reps struggle a lot in convincing people to shift from standard electricity to solar power – that’s just the truth!
Build Your Team

First step for the team-building approach is to simply get referrals.
Then, they reward you with 20% of Powur’s project revenue for each consultant you recommend. And because of Powur’s profit agreement, they get 70% commission.
Earning 20% from direct recruits is a pretty good start, but keep in mind that this percentage is still contingent on Powur’s earnings. It’s hard to predict how much you can monetize since their income can fluctuate depending on the client’s chosen installation plan.
The next phase is called “Leveraged Revenue Sharing.” This refers to generating money from up to six different tiers within your marketing team.
Even if they don’t apply conventional terms, they do adhere to a standard uni-level team structure. The percentage is okay, but you need to hire many people to promote the service.
You have to face the fact that finding additional 5 consultants is tough, solar panel installations don’t sell in an instant. I bet even your circle of friends will refuse to join your team.
To make more money in any MLM, you must first recruit others and then urge them to recruit more…a never-ending cycle.
Mentorship Program
The moment you join Powur, you are, therefore, considered as a “mentee.” Mentees must collaborate with a mentor in order to sell their first 3 solar installation projects.
A mentee will then become a consultant and earn the entire commission after successfully getting additional referrals and closing three projects.
Plus, you have to attend daily live group coaching, Powur sales training & onboarding, and lead generation Training. This includes door to door, social media, digital and physical networking, referrals, and workshops.
After a year of experience as a solar sales rep, you’re tasked to mentor one project to master the Powur systems’ technologies and tools before you can market your own projects.
The company provides an example of mentor commission rate: If there’s a $4,000 net commission. Half will be given to the consultant portion, and half of it will be given to the mentor.
But, you can officially be a mentor after accomplishing those tasks. Plus, if you’ve sold 5 contracts, which should start operating within 2 months.
As a mentor, you’re expected to have at least 1 sold project every month.
Powur Review: Is It A Scam Or Legit?
So, time for the $1,000,000 question: is Powur Solar a scam?
No, not technically. They aren’t going to run off with your money and not give you what you paid for. It’s 100% possible to make money with this program.
That being said, it’s not nearly as simple as they want you to think it is.
There’s A LOT of work to be done up front, and no guarantee that you’ll be successful. The commissions are also fairly small.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for doing hard work now, so that I can reap the benefits later.
But if you’re going to work really hard for 3 months, and your reward is a $100 check… it’s not really a great opportunity.
If I’m gonna do that, I want the rewards to be HIGH and virtually guaranteed.
I’d rather put in that same 3 months of work (in my spare time) & build a handful of Digital Rental Properties that each produce $500-$2,000 checks every single month afterward (AKA recurring income).
And the cool part is that you can do it in a lot less time than 3-months (I personally did it in my first 2 weeks of being a Digital Landlord).
Unlike with MLMs, you can do it from anywhere in the world, so it’s a genuine “laptop-lifestyle” business.
All you need is an internet connection.
Some of my friends are Digital Landlords that run their 6-figure businesses from:
- Camping trips at national parks
- Beachfront in Hawaii
- On the road in a camper-van (with a pet pig!)
They focus on living an enjoyable life first, and focus on income second. All thanks to this program.
They can take weeks or months off, and money keeps rolling in.
Living happily is the top priority.
If the thought of living perpetually at your dream vacation spot interests you, being a Digital Landlord might be for you!
Who Are Powur’s Affiliates?
Powur partners with several firms to get solar electrical grid supplies and installation process. Here’s the list of the most known companies they work with:
- SolarCity – Elon Musk sells and installs solar as well as other related products and services to commercial and industrial customers.
- Baker Electric Solar – They produce heating & air conditioning in particular, plus home energy solutions.
- Solgen Power – Solgen targets homeowners from Ohio, Washington State, Arizona, and Illinois. Being an affiliate grows their platform.
- Green Power Energy – They too offer a variety of solar and energy solutions.
- Power Home Solar LLC -A company that provides not just solar panels but also backup batteries.
- Tesla Energy LLC – They develop, manufacture, sell, and install photovoltaic solar power generation systems.
How Much Does It Cost To Join Powur?
If you’re joining Powur solar ambassador, all you have to do is to sign up, receive a confirmation, and then you’re totally in!
However, understand that Powur management team will train you for weeks or months before you go out as a direct representative.
They don’t really discuss the price. These things are solely based on my research:
- Powur Enterprises – $175 (per month)
- Powur Enterprises Pro – $350 (per month)
- Onboarding cost – $99
- Utility bill – $49 (per month)
What Does Powur Solar Ambassador Do?
As a distributor, you’re not compelled to sell anything. Your clients would never want to pay for additional service. I’m pretty sure they’ll directly contact solar-providing companies when they really want the project.
So, your main task is to get people sign up for proposals with the mentioned affiliates above. Powur, and their affiliates manage the whole distribution operation.
You’re compensated for appointments and installations, but first, your qualified leads must be serious about the service and eventually get it done within a month.
Nonetheless, this removes tons of legwork associated with network marketing. There’s no product inventory to maintain, no transactions to close, no auto-ship, and no payment processing.
The only problem is: How can you make homeowners say yes to the project?
Obviously, traditional electricity is still prevalent, a huge percentage of residential homes stick with monthly electric bills than one-time payment for solar installation.
Can You Generate Income With Powur?
It’s pleasing to hear Powur’s commission rates, right?
But is it for real? I know they feature a few testimonials on their website. However, it’s wiser to flip the coin and look beyond those pre-programmed reviews.
Don’t get me wrong.
There’s no doubt that Powur got the potential to be a long-term source of income. But the thing is, people have been so used to traditional energy systems for so many years.
It ain’t easy to somewhat ’cause a paradigm shift by advocating a less electric bill, which is what the company longs to do.
And though they often quote a clean electric source, solar manufacturing isn’t good for the environment – that’s just a side comment.
The downline is another thing. Incomes are heavily dependent on the team’s performance, which is a concern for any MLM. This implies that your profits (and rank) will fluctuate based on how well others perform.
That, in my opinion, is one of the most detrimental characteristics of an MLM. It implies that you’ll never have complete control over your earnings.
Pros And Cons Of Solar Energy System
Without a doubt, the sun is a strong energy source and harnessing this power by installing panels may make a difference to the globe.
While solar companies have been widely criticized for being costly or inefficient, solar energy has recently proven to be incredibly helpful – not only for the environment but also for the private economy.
A typical house, however, would rather prefer traditional electricity to avoid any inconvenience bought by solar-powered electricity most especially during winter.
Pros Of Solar Power
- Renewable Energy Source
- Reduces Electricity Bills
- Diverse Applications
- Low Maintenance Costs
- Technology Development
Cons Of Solar Power
- Expensive
- Weather-Dependent
- Solar Energy Storage Is Expensive
- Uses a Lot of Space
- Associated with Pollution
My Final Thought?
Any MLM companies require you to sell their products and acquire new members. Both of these systems are way more difficult than how they appear on the surface.
Let me explain…
Solar panel systems are more challenging to market than other MLM items. Note that they’re not appropriate for all residences.
I mean, your target market only revolves around homeowners; renters and commercials aren’t included. Customers, therefore, are limited and drastically reduced to a few clients- we both know how quantity matters in running MLMs.
Sure, some people might be interested and consider it a timely and correct manner of providing residential energy but trust me, many wouldn’t.
The majority of people who desire solar panels probably have them installed already, and those who don’t have them yet may find the price expensive.
These things significantly limit the number of your target prospects. As a result, commission rates are greatly reduced. Think about this, how many in your socials would seriously consider converting to solar energy?
Most of them won’t.
And what about the service?
If someone grabs your proposed project, you’re somehow responsible for quality output.
I also found some online reviews that firmly opposed the company’s quality service. The client suffers from poor solar service for 5 months, and the sad part is, she has experienced terrible customer care.
According to the client, she was often redirected to other lines, the focal person promise to assist and fix the situation. However, it took her 5 months before the company responds.
On Better Business Bureau website, 40 Customers gave an average rating for Powur’s services. Eight complaints arise in the last three years, seven were closed just last year.
What Is My #1 Recommendation To Make Money Online In 2022?
I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:
- I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
- I’ve drop-shipped a toilet-bowl putting green on Shopify
- I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing
And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.
I’ve also been on the other side of old friends trying to sell me their fancy new MLM products.
That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.
Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, becoming a Digital Landlord is for you.
Why?
Time: If you’ve got a spare hour-or-two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.
And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.
That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.
But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.
Ownership & Control: With MLMs, you don’t really “own” anything – everything belongs to the MLM.
If you read the contracts, they can kick you out at any time, or change your commission at any time (it’s happened in a few high-profile MLM cases recently).
Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?
When you’re a Digital Landlord, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.
Big Margins: With MLMs, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to have a VERY large network to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for recruiting members.
Being a Digital Landlord, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.
Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.
Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on auto-pilot.
It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…
If you wanted to double your income with an MLM, you would need to sell twice as much inventory. And I can guarantee you, that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.
You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with MLMs is that you’re likely going to ruin your personal relationships.
The MLM may have convinced you that you’re actually helping people, but it’s often not really true.
But when you’re a Digital Landlord, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:
Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.
You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.
Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.
So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other MLM programs like Powur Solar which might make you money 12 months from now.
You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.
OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.
Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.
