Summary

Based on these ratings, it’s clear that Jonathan Budd does a good job with Powur PBC. You get a community environment that fosters engagement. Jonathan also offers you the support you’ll need during your journey. However, Jonathan’s curriculum is not sufficient to be a successful sales rep. So he needs to make some improvements in the curriculum to fully-equip the sales rep.

What I liked
It's among the few companies that offer affordable onboarding fees. This makes it easy for anyone to join, which is perfect when recruiting members.
There are no membership fees required. That means you won't have to worry about giving back the money you earn every month- It's all for keeps.
The platform is all about helping the environment. That means you're making money while making the world a better place.
What I Didn’t Like
Sales reps don't get adequate training. That's a shot in the foot for Powur PBC, as you aren't fully equipped to win.
Solar panels are quite costly. That means that you have a slim customer base.
There's no refund for the onboarding fee. So if you feel cheated, you can't you can't get a dime back. In their defense, though, you can get the amount in your first split sale.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict

Is Powur a Pyramid Scheme

Hit the nail on the head, you say? Sure!

Is the Powur PBC a scam MLM company? No, it isn’t. It is real, and some people have actually made money off of it.

Would I recommend it to you, though? No, and hear me out first before you start calling me a hater. Just like most MLM companies, you’ll be required to sell products.

It’s a walk in the park if you’re a smooth sales person, but I’m not talking about herbal teas, beauty products, or nutritional supplements. You’ll be selling solar systems. Let that sink in for a bit.

So back to selling a solar system. You can bet on it that once you’ve sold one to a client, you probably won’t get to cross paths with them again. Well, unless something like a solar panel is broken beyond repair, and they need a new one.

I’d prefer making a time investment into something that gives me more room to earn more.

But heeey, to each their own. Let me help you figure out if Powur PBC is the business model for you.

Who Benefits From Program

Who Benefits From Powur

You’d be thrilled to be a Powur PBC team member if;

  1. You’re an advocate of clean energy and would like to join one of the solar companies driving the go-green agenda
  2. You want to earn money from generating leads for a solar company that requires you to chuck absolutely nothing from your pocket
  3. Your communication, marketing, and lead generation skills are A1

On the flip side, I wouldn’t advise you to join the company if;

  1. Renewable energy sources are not things that pique your interest, and your least worry is lowering someone’s monthly utility bill.
  2. You live in an area where most homes are not eligible for solar power.
  3. You doubt your persuasion skills and feel like you’ll run out of words when holding a conversation with a homeowner about solar panels

Powur Reviews

Let’s get deeper into exploring Powur PBC’s business model and what to expect to get paid by the company if you choose to join.

Powur’s Business Model

Powur PBC is a solar platform founded in 2014 that advocates for clean renewable energy. The company connects homeowners with solar installers. The end game is to cut the homeowners’ monthly electric bill while helping speed up the adoption of solar energy.

Powur’s headquarters are in Carlsbad. The company is 100% virtual and cloud-based. This way, the company is able to scale up without having its operations rely on a physical location.

In all fairness, there’s a huge market for solar installation. Did you know that there are roughly 144 million homes in the US, and million of those have had solar installation? The great part? Only 3.2 million homes have solar installed, which means there’s so much ground to cover.

As a Powur affiliate, your job title is to be an agent connecting potential customers with local contractors.

So you won’t have to perform the duties of a project manager in the solar industry.

Powur gives you marketing materials that you can use to persuade them to switch to solar energy.

Also, you don’t have to deal with physical products, roof inspection, or install anything on your neighbor’s roofs. You just have to refer them to the platform. Then you’ll earn commissions on completed sales.

Who Is Jonathan Budd Powur’s Guru?

Who Is Jonathan Budd

Powur is Jonathan Budd’s brainchild!

Jonathan Budd is a visionary entrepreneur and a leader in the solar energy industry. He is also a philanthropist, a marketer, and a millionaire.

He is the founder of The Global Transformation Council. This is a network of leaders who support innovative solutions to the world’s problems.

With a degree in psychology, Jonathan switched to working from home. He claims to have made more than $10 million by the age of 26.

Jonathan founded Empowered Entrepreneurs, which allowed him to help around 100,000 people. He claims that he’s motivated by a humanitarian vision.

He prides his experience in leading an MLM with many sales representatives. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any specific numbers on the Powur website.

What Is The Powur Cost?

You are required to pay a one-time onboarding fee- about $99.

After that, you’ll need to pay $49 monthly for the technology fee. This is basically a subscription.

Also, for $99, you can become an “Advocate” for Powur.

Alternatively, you can become an “Advisor” for an additional $299. This gives you a license to sell SolarCity panels. You also get all the necessary training to start your business.

As an “Advisor,” you’ll earn from your own sales and the commissions of your team’s sales.

Then there’s the Advisor Pro package which requires you to pay a monthly fee of $29 on top of the $299. This extra charge covers:

  • Website
  • Landing page
  • Access to their lead generation and marketing teams
Cost/Package Description
Onboarding Fee Approximately $99 one-time payment
Monthly Technology Fee $49 for the ongoing subscription
Advocate $99 to become an “Advocate” for Powur, earning $500 per unit
Advisor Additional $299 for “Advisor” status, includes a license to sell SolarCity panels and comprehensive training
Advisor Pro Monthly fee of $29 in addition to the $299 “Advisor” cost. Covers website, landing page, access to lead generation, and marketing teams

What Is Powur Compensation Plan?

Powur Compensation Plan

The Powur compensation plan lets you earn income from sales and recruitment.

Here’s a clear explanation of how you can make money with Powur:

Sell and Earn

When you sign a contract agreement with a customer for Powur’s solar services, you will get a generous 70% commission from your retail sales.

However, there’s a catch;

You’ll need to sell an installation that produces at least $5000 in net revenue from the cost of goods. If the net revenue is less than $5000, Powur will keep $1500. You then get the remainder.

Recruit and Earn More

Besides sales, Powur also rewards you for bringing new members to your Powur team.

For each person who joins the company, you will earn a 20% commission. You also earn a percentage of the sales made by your team members.

Powur’s Compensation Plan Description Commission Rate
Sell and Earn You earn income from selling Powur’s solar services to customers. 70% of retail sales
Recruit and Earn More You earn income from recruiting new members to your Powur team. 20% of recruitment fees and a percentage of team sales

What’s With Powur Pyramid Scheme Claims?

There’s been a lot of take on the internet about Powur pyramid scheme.

It’s hard to ignore these claims because there are too many complaints. This begs the question;

Is Powur legit?

Well, yes the program is pretty much legit.

Jonathan Budd won’t take off with your money. The Powur compensation plan works for anyone who will go the extra mile.

The business model is difficult, but, it’s doable.

I mean, it’s not a get-rich-quick solution. Plus, you need to be actively involved as a recruiter and sales rep for the electric company.

There are way better alternatives, like becoming a Digital Landlord. This has slowly but surely become my favorite way of making passive income.

More on this in a bit.

Personal Opinion

I’ve written thousands of reviews on the business models used by different companies like Jonathan’s Powur.

This experience has taught me that you can’t rely on a few Reddit rants when deciding to sign up for any business model.

Here are some factors to consider if you want to get it right the first time:

  • They should have unique and competitive products or services with high market demand.
  • The company should have a fair and transparent compensation plan
  • They should have a strong industry reputation and a proven track record of success and growth. Plus, they should also follow ethical MLM standards.
  • The company should offer support and effective training. Also important is responsive customer service, a reliable MLM software platform, and an active community of distributors.

My Recommendation On This Powur Review

Does Powur abide by the factors I’ve mentioned?

Well, let’s look at the positives. They include:

  • Solar energy is quite a unique idea. It’s also competitive as the world is moving towards a green economy.
  • Powur compensation plan is elaborate and relatively fair.
  • The company has also grown over the years, partnering with Elon Musk’s SolarCity

And now to the negatives. Here’s where Powur falls behind:

The program lacks in providing effective training. The sales reps don’t get proper training. This makes closing deals very challenging. It might explain why a former employee or current employee may cry foul play.

Also, quite a few homes are eligible for solar installations which could hurt your efforts. So while the commissions are quite enticing, the $5,000 minimum requirement can be challenging to meet.

What’s Inside

Powur lets you earn income from every sale.

Your role as a Powur affiliate is to refer potential customers to the platform.

Of course, selling a product that you can’t touch can have its own difficulties.

However, you get educational content which includes powerful videos and convincing testimonials from happy customers.

Powur gives you everything you need to skillfully encourage people to go solar. This includes a script you can use. It includes the following details:

Phase 1: Spark interest

Phase 2: Introduce WHY you are asking…

Phase 3: Get into dialogue

Phase 4: Get all information needed & Set a Discovery Call

The Final Say: Buy Or Don’t Buy

It’s pretty clear that Powur PBC is legit.

They help homeowners get solar panels in their homes.

I’ve got to admit, that’s quite hot with the current green economy buzz.

But there’s a catch;

Solar panels are costly, which narrows the customer base.

Now, pair that with the poor training that Powur PBC offers its sales reps… that’s a COMPLETE DISASTER!

You’re completely set to fail. That’s why I don’t vouch for Powur PBC.

The Digital Landlord program, however, sets you up for success. You can also check out my top articles for other reviews I’ve done on different gurus and their programs.

But first, check out my #1 alternative; the Digital Landlord.

My #1 Alternative Way To Make Money In 2024

Digital Real Estate Reviews

So here’s the thing;

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

  • I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
  • I’ve drop-shipped a toilet-bowl putting green on Shopify
  • I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

I’ve also been on the other side of old friends trying to sell me their fancy new MLM products.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.

Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, becoming a Digital Landlord is for you.

Did Powur Make The List?

Why?

Time: If you’ve got a spare hour-or-two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

Ownership & Control: With MLMs, you don’t really “own” anything – everything belongs to the MLM.

For instance, if you read the Powur’s contracts, they can kick you out at any time. Your commissions may also change at any time like when you don’t meet Powur’s $5,000 requirement.

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

When you’re a Digital Landlord, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

Big Margins: Some MLM programs have really slim margins. That means you need to have a VERY large network to make serious money. You often need to spend A LOT of money on ads and other methods for recruiting members.

Being a Digital Landlord, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on auto-pilot.

It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with Jonathan’s program, you would need to sell twice as much solar panels. And I can guarantee you, that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with MLMs is that you’re likely going to ruin your personal relationships.

The MLM may have convinced you that you’re actually helping people, but it’s often not really true.

But when you’re a Digital Landlord, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other MLM programs like Powur PBC, which might make you money 12 months from now.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.
