Youngevity Review (2023): Legit Health MLM Or Another Scam?

Updated On: November 23, 2023

,

Welcome to my Youngevity review. My goal is to answer common questions like: how much it costs, if it's a scam, and if you can actually make money with it. The end goal is to help you understand if it's a good fit for you personally, and if there are any better alternatives out there.
Youngevity Review

This Youngevity review has been throughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

What I liked
The business has been around for a long time.
It's a publicly-traded company, which gives it a higher level of credibility than its rivals.
Work from home opportunity.
What I Didn’t Like
High start-up costs and auto-ship requirements.
Lack of scientific research to back-up health claims.
The prices of products are very high.

Are you searching for a company to start and are considering Youngevity as a possible option?

If so, you’ve come to the correct place for this Youngevity review.

I’m going to review Youngevity to decide if it really is the best direct-selling course out there.

I’ll talk about whether direct selling is the right online business for you.

MLMs like Youngevity are a bit of a mixed bag. They CAN be a legitimate way to make money, but some have a reputation for literally ruining people’s lives – so it’s important to know what you’re getting since each one is unique.

Like most of my readers, you were probably introduced to this one via a friend or some influencer you trust online.

And it makes sense why so many people recommend them:

Making money outside of a 9-5 can be… life-changing, to say the least.

So in this article, I want to help you explore two things:

  1. If MLMs are actually a worthwhile business to pursue
  2. If Youngevity is a worthwhile MLM

Before that, I want to clear the air on something.

There are A LOT of people out there who bash all MLMs in any form. However, I’m not one of those people.

Instead, I want to genuinely educate you about them so that you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

If you’re unfamiliar with what MLMs actually do:

They’re businesses in which you pay money to a company for the ability to sell their products.

Sometimes the products are actually kind of decent (I still remember my mom throwing pampered-chef parties when I was younger).

Other times the products are really poorly made and come with a high price tag.

Typically, the only way to really make money is to get people (mostly friends & family) to sign up with you for a recurring subscription.

If the product is 100% legitimate & valuable, it’s entirely possible to get people to sign-up and continue paying you.

If the product is subpar, you’ll usually burn those bridges kinda quickly and end up with $0 coming in each month.

The biggest issue I’ve seen is that this puts significant stress on your personal relationships, as you’re reliant on selling to your “network.”

Think about it: if you KNEW that every time your friend Sally called, she’d be trying to sell you on one of her products… you’d eventually stop answering Sally’s calls.

Now, this doesn’t mean MLMs are outright bad… it means you need to know what type of MLM you’re getting yourself into before you sign up.

Again, some MLMs provide real value to people, but MOST don’t – and so in this article, I’m going to explore what the case is with Youngevity.

But before that, I want to ask you a question: what if there was a way to build actual recurring, semi-passive income?

Income that:

  • Doesn’t have inventory
  • Doesn’t make you sell to your friends & family
  • Doesn’t force you to recruit people onto your “team”

Something that you could make anywhere from $2,000 – $10,000 with consistently, month after month?

A stream of income that you can build as high (or low) as you feel like building it?

If that sounds interesting, you might want to consider using the Digital Rental Method.

If you wanna see what Youngevity looks like on the inside, keep reading.

What Is The Youngevity Company All About?

Based in San Diego (California), the multi-level marketing company Youngevity sells nutritional supplements, among other products.

Dr. Joel Wallach, one of its co-founders, is largely responsible for the organization’s basic values.

They boast an expanding range of innovative products and services that provide them with exceptional business opportunities.

Youngevity is also involved in charitable causes and community events locally and nationally.

Youngevity sells a variety of nutritional and lifestyle products.

In the 21 years since its founding in 1997, the company has expanded to cover 15 different product categories, 31 brands, and over 2,000 products.

They’ve called their star product “90 For Life,” which is said to contain 90 essential nutrients that restore health and vitality, according to the company.

More than 30,000 Youngevity distributors can be found in 65 different countries.

Youngevity is the only direct sales company with an FDA-approved health claim. More than 70 peer-reviewed and referenced scientific journals and books have published Joel Wallach’s work.

Youngevity CEO Steve Wallach announced in 2013 that its founder’s study on Selenium remained at the forefront of health and prevention with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed regulation requiring the inclusion of selenium in the list of essential nutrients for infant formula products.

Is Dr. Wallach The Real Deal?

Is Dr Wallach For Real

As a pioneer in biomedical research, Dr. Joel D. Wallach, B.S., D.V.M., ND, first worked in veterinary medicine for two decades before transitioning to Naturopathic Medicine in 1982.

The advantages of certain nutrients on animal health and well-being were seen and studied by him.

His groundbreaking research on selenium’s health advantages has made Joel Wallach a household name.

For nearly 40 years, Joel Wallach was at the forefront of Selenium research.

Selenium is an essential trace mineral that plays various roles in human physiology, including thyroid and immune function and the synthesis of antioxidants (natural substances that neutralize free radical damage).

CEO and co-founder Steve Wallach claims that his father, along with Youngevity,  successfully petitioned the FDA in 2003 to establish a Qualified Health Claim for selenium, stating that it “may reduce the risk of some cancers” on the labels of dietary supplements containing Selenium.

In 2011, Dr. Joel Wallach was awarded the Klaus Schwarz Medal for his observations as a researcher at the Yerkes Primate Research Center in Atlanta, Georgia 1978.

Wallach discovered pancreatic lesions in selenium-deficient monkeys that were identical to those seen in human patients, establishing a correlation between selenium deficiency and some types of cystic fibrosis.

This allows for the prevention of some forms of cystic fibrosis in humans.

The International Association of Bioinorganic Scientists, Inc. bestows the prestigious Klaus Schwarz Medal on trace element researchers in recognition of their accomplishments.

How Many Distributors Does Youngevity Have?

Youngevity has nearly 70,000 active distributors and clients, according to a 2013 analysis by Businesswire, a Berkshire Hathaway Company.

I could not discover any more updated figures on their number of distributors on the internet.

What Is BBB Rating Of Youngevity Company?

The Better Business Bureau gives Youngevity a perfect A+ score. This company, on the other hand, is not accredited by the BBB.

BBB ratings are based on the information the BBB gathers, including public complaints, about the company.

BBB collects and analyzes data directly from companies and publicly available data sources.

The Better Business Bureau is also in the business of helping customers through the process of filing complaints against companies.

What Are The Youngevity Products?

What Are The Youngevity Products

In addition to nutritional supplements and meal replacement shakes, they also provide cosmetic goods, essential oils, and powdered juice drinks in their product line.

You could virtually fill a store with the large number of goods sold by Youngevity, which offers over 2,000 items in a range of categories.

They have makeup products, grooming supplies, food and drinks, home and family items, garden, and pet products in addition to their 90 For Life flagship products.

Their individual product inventory includes coffee, essential oils, mineral cosmetics, photo keepsakes, food storage, and prepackaged snacks.

In 2018, they introduced a proprietary line of CBD products to the hemp oil market.

They also sell various starter packages, ranging from their 90 For Life starter package to their Be the Change starter package, as well as packs tailored to help athletes lower blood sugar, support bones, improve their heart and brain, and even rebuild the digestive system.

They also have weight-loss starter packs.

Do Youngevity Products Really Work?

No matter how much study Wallach has done, there is no conclusive evidence that his selenium products truly function.

They depend on the health advantages of colloidal minerals, which is still a contentious topic in the medical community.

In reality, the FDA refuses to validate claims made by health supplement companies, making it difficult to determine the true source and safety of any liquid colloidal mineral supplement.

What Are The 90 Essential Nutrients?

What Are The 90 Essential Nutrients

The picture above shows what the 90 essential nutrients are.

Here are excerpts from Joel Wallach’s 90 For Life message in a Dead Doctors Don’t Lie Lecture concerning the 90 essential nutrients:

  • A human being requires 90 essential nutrients daily to remain healthy. There are up to 10 deficiency diseases for every absent nutrient, totaling up to 900.
  • Vitamins have no function in the human body without minerals. They are totally useless.
  • If there is no mineral content in our farm soils, they aren’t present in our food. So, no matter how good we think we’re eating, GETTING THE 90 ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS FROM OUR FOODS IS IMPOSSIBLE.
  • Minerals must be in the form of plants for our bodies to absorb enough of them.
  • The company claims that Wallach’s Mineral Mine is the only source known of all 60 essential minerals in a plant-derived form.
  • They claim that Youngevity is the ONLY COMPANY/PRODUCT with ALL 90 ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS.
  • The CEO Mega Pak is the most effective way to ensure you receive ALL 90 Essential Nutrients.

The CEO Mega Pak contains the following items:

2 Healthy Body Start Pak

2 True2Life 30-Day Detox

Does Tangy Tangerine Make You Lose Weight?

Youngevity makes no claims that their vitamin will help you lose weight.

According to its proponents, this supplement has a healthier digestive system, better cardiovascular fitness, and improved cognitive memory, cognition, and cartilage.

It comes in a citrus-peach fusion flavor, is GMO-free and gluten-free, and sells for $79.99 per jug.

Is Beyond Tangy Tangerine Good For You?

According to the National Institutes of Health, this supplement contains antioxidants, which have been seen to have certain health benefits in terms of anti-aging, cardiovascular health, inflammation reduction, and combating oxidative stress in cells.

Antioxidants are beneficial in studies published in the World Journal of Cardiology (WJC) and New Horizons.

What Is Youngevity Ultimate EFA Plus?

It’s a unique combination of essential fatty acids called Ultimate EFA Plus, and it’s meant to aid the body in several ways.

Maintaining good cardiovascular function has been demonstrated to be aided by EFAs.

Having enough essential fatty acids is more critical than ever with today’s busy lifestyles and poor eating habits.

Omega-3 fatty acid consumption can lower the risk of Coronary Heart Disease.

The FDA examined the data and concluded that, while scientific evidence exists to support the claim, the evidence is insufficient.

In the United States, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death.

Around 30 million people in the United States have heart or blood vessel disease, and another 27 million have high blood pressure.

Heart disease claimed the lives of 765,000 people in 1991, while stroke and other vascular disorders claimed the lives of 190,000.

Within three hours after the first symptom, 25% of those with a heart attack die.

The cost of cardiovascular disease in the United States is estimated to be $65 billion a year.

Premature death accounts for more than 35 billion dollars of this amount.

Is Youngevity Headquarters In The United States?

The headquarters of Youngevity International is located at 2400 Boswell Rd in Chula Vista, CA, USA.

Chula Vista is the second-largest city in the San Diego, CA metropolitan area, the seventh-largest city in Southern California, the fifteenth-largest city in CA, and the 75th-largest city in the United States.

The area is in the heart of one of the most culturally diverse zones of the United States, located approximately halfway between the two downtowns of San Diego and Tijuana in the South Bay.

Does Your Browser Show Only A Few Reviews Of Youngevity?

Are you experiencing trouble finding a verified comment or review on Youngevity’s website using your computer browser?

If your search brings no results, below are some reviews I have found on Social Media and also on the BBB webpage that might be of help:

Youngevity Facebook Reviews

“Great products that are healthy! Great beauty stuff! Non-toxic, fun nails!!”

-Mrs. Tzipka Cowen

-Joanne Hodgkiss Ingledue

“I’ve had asthma issues my whole life, so 90 for Life was awesome! I don’t use an inhaler or take steroids anymore! After years of steroids, I no longer have joint pain in my hands…or some of the other problems I was experiencing. Dr. Wallach is a wonderful person.”

-Carol Craven Salter

What Are The Usual Complaints Against Youngevity?

During the last three years, the company has received five complaints on BBB’s website.

Four complaints were to a product or service, while one complaint was related to billing/collection. In one case, the incorrect item was sent to the customer.

Youngevity Reviews: The Youngevity Compensation Plan

Youngevity offers two ways to earn commissions in their compensation plan:

Retail Commissions

These commissions are obtained by selling regular products to consumers to earn a percentage of the product’s cost.

This will also include retail product sales when a buyer orders from the company website using your affiliate id URL.

Referral Commissions

As an associate member, you can receive these commissions by referring people to the Youngevity opportunity.

When this occurs, you, your personal referrals, and your team members will be required to remain on auto-ship for a monthly product purchase to receive residual commissions from the nine levels of the MLM uni-level compensation plan structure, plus bonuses and extras as you qualify for the extra commissions.

Qualifying for a higher rank in the company is the biggest driver of how you can make more money in the compensation plan.

The higher the rank you qualify for, the more money you’ll be able to make in bonuses and residual income, as well as upfront commissions.

Can You Really Make Money With Youngevity?

There’s a lot that comes along with Network Marketing that many people struggle with.

In fact, check out my Top 5 Reason Why Most Network Marketers Fail.

Now, don’t get me wrong…

You can certainly make money with network marketing, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a successful Distributor (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same network marketing skills but shows you how to monetize them in a much more profitable way.

You see…

Multi-level marketing is in and of itself a skill.

While it will seem to offer huge benefits, especially in earnings, this business does not guarantee that it would be profitable to you.

So take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Youngevity is a system that works for people with a high level of expertise.

  • Are you able to deal with rejection?
  • Do you know how to promote a business?
  • Do you have confidence in yourself?
  • Are you a natural leader with charisma?

If you can answer yes to these questions, you could be among the 1-5 percent of all network marketers who succeed.

I’m not one of those people who believe you can’t make it in MLM because I know of people who make six and seven figures.

I’ll just say they’re few and far between.

Are There Alternatives To Youngevity?

Other MLM Companies To Choose From

Yes, there are plenty of MLM companies to choose from if you want to pursue this business model. Here are just a few:

Youngevity MLM Review – Another Supplement Scam?

Is It A Scam

So, time for the $1,000,000 question: is Youngevity a scam?

No, not technically. They aren’t going to run off with your money and not give you what you paid for. It’s 100% possible to make money with this program.

That being said, it’s not nearly as simple as they want you to think it is.

There’s A LOT of work to be done upfront, and no guarantee that you’ll be successful. The commissions are also fairly small.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for doing hard work now, so that I can reap the benefits later.

But if you’re going to work really hard for 3 months, and your reward is a $100 check… it’s not really a great opportunity.

Did Youngevity Make The List?

If I’m gonna do that, I want the rewards to be HIGH and virtually guaranteed.

I’d rather put in that same 3 months of work (in my spare time) & build a handful of Digital Rental Properties that each produce $500-$2,000 checks every single month afterward (AKA recurring income).

And the cool part is that you can do it in a lot less time than 3-months (I personally did it in my first 2 weeks of using the Digital Rental Method).

Unlike with MLMs, you can do it from anywhere in the world, so it’s a genuine “laptop-lifestyle” business.

All you need is an internet connection.

Some of my friends are Digital Rental Method that run their 6-figure businesses from:

  • Camping trips at national parks
  • Beachfront in Hawaii
  • On the road in a camper van (with a pet pig!)

They focus on living an enjoyable life first and focus on income second. All thanks to this program

They can take weeks or months off, and money keeps rolling in.

Living happily is the top priority.

If the thought of living perpetually at your dream vacation spot interests you, using the Digital Rental Method might be for you!

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2022?

Make Money Online With Digital Landlord

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

  • I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
  • I’ve dropshipped a toilet bowl putting green on Shopify
  • I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

I’ve also been on the other side of old friends trying to sell me their fancy new MLM products.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.

Whether you’re a complete newbie or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, using the Digital Rental Method is for you.

Why?

Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

Ownership & Control: With MLMs, you don’t really “own” anything – everything belongs to the MLM.

If you read the contracts, they can kick you out or change your commission at any time (it’s happened in a few high-profile MLM cases recently).

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

With the Digital Rental Method, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

Big Margins: With MLMs, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to have a VERY large network to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for recruiting members.

using the Digital Rental Method, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

Best-case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on auto-pilot.

It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with an MLM, you would need to sell twice as much inventory. And I can guarantee you that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with MLMs is that you’re likely going to ruin your personal relationships.

The MLM may have convinced you that you’re actually helping people, but it’s often not really true.

But With the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If you can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

You’re helping a struggling mother or father put food on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other MLM programs like Youngevity, which might make you money 12 months from now.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.

If this sounds like you, click here to see how it all works.
