What I Didn’t Like
The program is overpriced, which means you'll have to pay more to access the course.
The business model the Fiction Profits Academy offers is oversaturated, which means you'll probably not make money from it.
Lacks success stories, which means you'll probably not be able to know if the program has helped students make money online.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict on Fiction Profits Academy?

Is Fiction Profit Academy legit?

If you’re the type of person who appreciates clear-cut answers, here’s my take on whether you should invest in Fiction Profits Academy.

My answer is No. Now, before you jump to conclusions as to why I said no, let me explain.

First off, my negative response isn’t because I doubt the legitimacy of Fiction Profits Academy; it’s a legit program. They won’t take your money and sail off into the sunset. Also, the Kindle direct publishing tactics this program teaches are a unique way to make money online.

With that said, here’s why I don’t recommend it.

First, Kindle direct publishing is an online opportunity available to almost everyone. This is certainly clear with the number of self-published books on Amazon’s Kindle direct publishing increasing by 264%. That’s a clear indication that every year, the numbers always end up increasing.

The more people, the more competition you have. More competition means having to do more to stand out from the crowd. While Amazon Kindle does give access to millions of readers, you’ll need to incorporate ads into your marketing technique to stand out from the crowd at some point.

What this means is that you’ll have to dig deep into your pockets to make any real money. Now, let’s assume you take the bait and decide to become a self-publishing writer; the next hurdle is trying to navigate Amazon Kindle itself.

First, you’ll have to work much harder than a regular published writer. Because of all the responsibilities a traditional publishing company takes on, you’ll have to do it yourself. Some of those responsibilities include:

  1. Book Marketing
  2. Editing
  3. Book cover creation, among others.

Second, there’s the issue of cost, especially with marketing, as there are currently over 1 million authors on Amazon Kindle. The best way to stand out from the crowd is by having a marketing plan in place.

Once you publish your book, you can either wait for people to discover your book or be proactive. If you choose to be proactive, that means factoring money for ads on Amazon. You can also opt to market your book on social media, which means setting aside a budget for Facebook ads or Google ads.

The third issue you’ll have to deal with is that there’s no guarantee you’ll make money with Kindle direct publishing. Now imagine investing over $2,000 not to make any money. That’s a huge gamble to take.

Rather than pay thousands of dollars into a program you aren’t sure it’s going to give you a return on investment, why not go for a different way to help you make money online?

Try to think of the Fiction Profits Academy program as a maze. Each book this program teaches you to create is a unique path, some leading to success, others to dead ends. You’re in constant competition for attention.

It’s certainly possible to make money with off-the-wall businesses like this one. But unless you want to spend years trying to make Amazon Kindle work for you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

My number #1 recommendation for making money online has got to be the lead generation business model. While there are plenty of programs that teach you the ropes, My #1 recommendation has got to be Digital Landlord.

With Digital Landlord, you can:

  • Create a consistent income
  • Help other people in the process
  • Make enough money to invest in your passion for writing

Who Benefits From The Fiction Profits Academy Program

Who Benefits From The Fiction Profits Academy Program

It should go without saying that this Fiction Profits Academy review is based on my opinion and my own experience running an online business. I do know a thing or two about programs similar to this one, like Click Clone Cash.

So, who is this program for and not for:

If you fit in the following criteria, this program might be for:

  1. If you’re an aspiring author who wants to showcase your printed works and earn money from them.
  2. Any book writer who wants to self-publish their work but doesn’t know where to start.
  3. Anyone who’s got the time, patience, and money to wait for self-publishing to pay off as an online money-making venture.

If you fit into any of these criteria, this program might not be a good fit for:

  1. If you aren’t willing to put in the work that comes with being a self-publishing author. There’s a lot that goes into creating an actual passive income from Amazon’s Kindle direct publishing. You’ll also have to work twice as much to make ends meet in an oversaturated industry.
  2. Anyone looking for a program with an in-depth curriculum. According to this Trust Pilot user, the Fiction Profits Academy promises a pipe dream that the course doesn’t deliver. Also, much of the stuff the program offers is readily available online.
  3. If you’re looking for a program that doesn’t require you to dig deep into your pockets to make money online. From what this Trust Pilot user says, the program starts out great, but there are different upsells that require you to pay more every time.

Now that you know whether this program is for you or not for you, let’s take a deeper look into everything you need to know about Fiction Profits Academy.

1,000 FT View of This Online Business Opportunity

Congratulations for making it this far into the Fiction Profits Academy review!

In this section, we’ll take a birds-eye view look at what this program is all about. So, let’s start with the basics.

Business Model

Self-publishing on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing is really popular, and the numbers prove that. While it’s really easy to publish, it’s difficult for a new author to make headway on this platform.

This is the gap Fiction Profits Academy is trying to bridge, as it teaches you everything you need to know about publishing books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. Self-publishing isn’t a new concept, and it’s readily available to everyone, which makes it even more saturated.

One huge benefit of self-publishing eBooks on Amazon is that you can get your book in front of millions of readers without having a traditional publisher. But that means double the work and usually very low-profit margins.

How Does Fiction Profits Academy Help You Make Money?

Now that you know what this program teaches, let’s look at how Fiction Profits Academy helps you make money online.

This program teaches you how to leverage Kindle Direct Publishing royalty rates to your advantage. When it comes to KDP royalty rates, there are two options: 35% or 70%. For you to qualify for a 70% commission rate, you need to price your e-books between $2.99 to $9.99.

You’ll also have to pay Amazon a distribution or delivery fee for every single purchase. While that deal does seem okay, it’s important to keep in mind that you probably won’t make money.

Self-published authors on Amazon have been known to make as low as $150 dollars a month. Let’s not forget that you’ve not factored in advertising costs, which means you’ll probably be paying more than what you get.

Let’s finally meet the founder of Fiction Profits Academy, Karla Marie

Who is Karla Marie?

Karla Marie

Apart from being the founder of Fiction Profits Academy, Karla Marie is a self-proclaimed self-publishing author who, according to her, is raking in six figures worth of income.

But before she got into the world of Self-publishing books, she was a musician. But not much else is known about this guru aside from her self-publishing and music career. It’s also pretty hard to prove that Karla made her money selling eBooks on Amazon, which makes me wonder whether she actually made it all from selling her course.

She also has a YouTube channel with around 5.68 K subscribers, where she teaches writing tips they can use on Amazon Kindle. But it does look like the course hasn’t been updated for a while.

Main Promises and Claims of Fiction Profits Academy

One huge promise the Fiction Profits Academy makes is that it can help you make money online via Amazon’s Kindle Direct publishing. The Fiction Profits Academy claims that it teaches you strategies and tricks you can use to get started as a self-publishing author and make an income from it.

While publishing eBooks is a legitimate way to make money. It does come with several huge downsides that are impossible to ignore. They include:

  1. The lack of an integrated marketing strategy. You’ll have to work twice as hard to convince buyers to buy your books.
  2. Exclusivity clause. If you sign up to publish your books on Kindle direct publishing, you can’t publish them anywhere else. This means you probably won’t make as much money as you would from publishing the book on multiple sites.
  3. Algorithm change: Amazon recently changed its algorithm, which has made it difficult for readers to find new authors. As a new author, if you want to get discovered, you may have to pay for ads.

Let’s find out the Fiction Profits Academy Cost.

What’s The Cost of Fiction Profits Academy?

So, how much does Fiction Profits Academy cost? The actual cost of this program as of the time of writing this Fiction Profits Academy review is $1497. If that’s too expensive for you, no worries; there’s an installment plan in place that allows you to pay $789 for three payment periods.

You can also check out the prices of other programs like Local Marketing Vault and Home Business Academy.

Karla Marie also offers a 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee if the program doesn’t satisfy you. However, according to this BBB user, you’ll have to constantly follow up with the refund department to get it.

There are, however, certain terms and conditions you’ll have to meet to qualify for the refund. They include:

  • Watching the first eight module videos of the Fiction Profits Academy program
  • Attending four of the one-on-one coaching calls
  • Producing and publishing one eBook and lead magnet using Fiction Profits Academy standards.
  • Launch your eBook using Fiction Profits Academy strategies
  • Give it a fair try

Another thing you need to know is that the program does have several hidden expenses you may have to pay for if you sign up for the program.

With everything I’ve said about this course in this Fiction Profits Academy Review, it’s time to discuss my personal opinion

Is Fiction Profits Academy Legit? My Personal Opinion

Personal opinion on Fiction Profits Academy

It’s time to finally start rounding up this Fiction Profits Academy review by giving my honest and unbiased opinion on the program.

But when it comes to choosing the right online course with a business model where making money online is a possibility, there are several things I look at. Review platforms like BBB, Reddit, and Trust Pilot are great, but they are just a simple piece of the puzzle.

Some of the things I look at include:

  • The Guru’s Reputation: Does the guru have experience publishing books on Amazon KDP?
  • The availability of a community: Does the program have a private Facebook group that students can use to ask questions or find support while trying to build a successful program?
  • The cost: Is the cost of the program affordable? Are they honest about the program’s expenses?
  • Curriculum value: Does the curriculum the program offers have value? Does it offer an in-depth outlook on the program’s business model?
  • Last but not least, is there sufficient proof that students have made money using these strategies?

My Recommendation on This Fiction Profits Academy Review

With the factors I’ve laid out on how to choose a self-publishing course, let’s apply that to the Fiction Profits Academy.

Let’s start with the positives:

Karla Marie teaches a legitimate business model that enables you to navigate the world of self-publishing eBooks on Amazon. You get to learn how to edit and format your manuscript, design your book cover, and market the book.

Second, if you put your head down and get the work done, you can make money from this program. The only downside is you may have to do way more than you bargain for with this business model. You’ll not only publish a book but also run Facebook ads to promote it.

Now, the negatives:

  1. Let’s face it: the Fiction Profits Academy program is pretty expensive. For a course that offers something you can easily find online, for that cost, I would expect something better and of more value. This is backed up by this Trust Pilot review.
  2. While there is a 30-day money-back guarantee, it seems to be part of a marketing ploy. Not only are there plenty of conditions you’ll have to meet, but there are customers who’ve complained that they never got a refund upon requesting one.
  3. There’s also the issue of hidden expenses with this program. According to this Reddit user, Karla Marie’s course misleads people on the total amount expected to complete the course from start to finish.

With that said, is Fiction Profits Academy legit? Yes, they won’t take off with your money. You also get a website login to access the course. But is it worth your investment? My honest answer is that for most people out there, probably not.

There are plenty of programs out there that can help you build a scalable business. My preferred program is Digital Landlord. It has a proven path and the right systems in place to help you make money online.

The best part is that you can do it anywhere in the world. I’ve got friends earning six figures from their digital assets while vacationing in Hawaii or camping in national parks.

Conclusion- Is Fiction Profits Academy Cost Worth it?

To be fair, Karla Marie isn’t a scammer. She is legit and offers solid strategies on how to make money in the self-publishing industry. So, is the Fictions Profits Academy cost worth it? My answer is No.

Most of the course curriculum is something you can find for free online. Also, there’s a lot of work, stress, and money involved before you can finally publish your first book. These are a few of the reasons I don’t think the cost is worth it.

Now, here’s my number 1 way to make money online.

What Is My #1 Way To Make Money Online In 2024?

Make Money Online

Alright, it’s time for me to get real with you for a moment:

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

  • I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
  • I’ve drop-shipped a toilet bowl putting green on Shopify
  • I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say there is no “perfect” business model.

THAT BEING SAID: I would at least recommend you implement something that is tried and true because I’ve seen TOO MANY people (including friends and family) get burned by stuff like Fiction Profits Academy.

They come out of left field with some random idea, make it seem attractive, and then make themselves a quick buck by luring in unsuspecting people.

This is a big reason why I only recommend proven, tried, and true business models, like Lead Generation & Ad Agencies.

Did Fiction Profits Academy Make The List?

There are a bunch of programs out there that teach you those skills, but my top choice is the Digital Landlords program.

Why? It has proven leaders with their own 7-figure businesses implementing exactly what they teach you.

I’ve also got over a dozen personal friends in there, so I feel comfortable telling you it works.

Whether you’re a complete newbie or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, their program works.

Here’s Why:

1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring (for the most part).

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day. This is completely the opposite of the Fiction Profits Academy. You’ll not only be required to spend more time investing in the program but will also have to pay more to get a leg up in the publishing industry.

2)Big Margins: With most businesses, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money.

Being a Digital Landlord, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on “auto-pilot.”

The profit margins for Fiction Profits Academy aren’t guaranteed, as most self-published authors have been known to make $150 per month. That’s too little compared to the amount of money you invest.

3)It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with Kindle Direct Publishing, you would need to publish more eBooks and improve your marketing game.

And I can guarantee you that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

4)You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with this type of publishing is that you’re basically only helping yourself.

But when you’re a Digital Landlord, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other off-the-wall business models like Kindle publishing and maybe hit it big one day.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or a few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people who need it.

If this sounds like you, click here to see how it all works.
