TikTok has completely dominated social media.
From being a kid-friendly app, it grew to be used by tens of millions of people around the world.
ByteDance was founded by 38-year-old Zhang Yiming, a Chinese software engineer.
In December 2016, he renamed it Douyin in China.
TikTok (previously musical.ly) quickly became global. TikTok now has around 689 million monthly users, making it one of the most popular social media platforms.
With a worth of over $50 billion and a $1 billion funding for Tiktok’s Creator Fund, you’d have to agree that creating content on TikTok is no longer a joke.
With TikTok, making money online is possible.
Alright, so Making Money On Tiktok doesn’t exactly fit into a nice category.
At the end of the day, social networking is a… unique way to think about making money.
It’s certainly possible to make money with off-the-wall businesses like this, but unless you’re interested in taking years out of your life to experiment with an unproven business model, I would look elsewhere.
My #1 personal recommendation if we’re talking about starting a fully-online business has got to be the Lead Generation & Ad Agency business models.
There are a handful of programs that teach you the ropes, but my #1 choice that combines both of those business models into one is the Digital Landlords program
But, if you’re hard-pressed to jump head-first into an off-the-wall business model, let’s continue to my full breakdown of How To Make Money On Tiktok.
How To Make Money On TikTok?
I’ll discuss the most effective strategies to monetize TikTok. Remember that several factors, which I’ll get into below, affect your ability to make money.
Get Paid Through TikTok Creator Fund.
TikTok Creator Fund is a way for TikTok to support and honor creative creators. The app’s most recent initiative is establishing itself as a user-generated content center.
Like other platforms, it doesn’t rely on advertising. Your fund expands as your channel and content do. It also depends on factors like viewing location and actual account views.
Because TikTok’s content engagement is dynamic, your funds will fluctuate daily.
To join the program, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be 18 or older.
- Have at least 10,000 genuine fans.
- 100K total video views in the previous 30 days.
- Based in the USA and the UK.
- Post original content that follows TikTok’s community guidelines.
A Pro account is required to apply for the Tiktok’s Creator Fund.
To apply, go to your account settings, select Pro Account, then “TikTok Creator Fund.”
Three days after your video views accumulated, a reward would appear in your Creator Fund Dashboard.
You can also send funds ($10 minimum) to PayPal or Zelle 30 days afterward.
Despite all the fuss, the program doesn’t make TikTokers a lot of money.
The average TikTok creator earns around $200 in five months.
Like money-making apps, the TikTok Creator Fund may let you make enough money to splurge on Christmas gifts but not enough to pay off your college debt.
That doesn’t mean you can’t make money using TikTok. Sure, you can. You may advertise brands, partner with sponsors, and more. The next point is this.
Receive Donations For Your Live Streams From TikTok Users.
Accepting donations from your fans is one way to earn money on Tiktok. Like Twitch, your followers can donate money to support your live stream.
The built-in Live Gifting function on TikTok allows creators to instantly receive payment via PayPal for their live streams.
There’s a twist, though.
Instead of cash, TikTok users can buy in-app coins to send to their favorite influencers.
The coins are under Settings >> Balance >> Recharge.
Exchange these coins for virtual goodies.
Each prize has a variety of options. They also have varying values and coin requirements.
To send or receive these incentives, you must be 18 (or the age of majority in your area).
Viewers can also send stickers without buying coins during the live stream.
People who like your content can now send you presents during your LIVE broadcast. The gifts will appear publicly on your screen.
It’s good to be recognized for your work, no matter how little the present may be.
Remember to thank your audience every time you receive a gift. If your followers feel valued, they may help you gain more admirers by spreading the word.
A simple, heartfelt “Thank You” suffices.
Your total number of gifts will be shown at the end of your stream. It’s easy to check your balance in the account settings tab “Balance.”
You will be rewarded with “Diamonds” (virtual credit) based on your popularity. They’ll also consider the number and sort of gifts. A diamond is usually half a coin.
Finally, as a creator, you can convert Diamonds into actual money.
It may not appear to be much at first. But more donors mean more gifts, which can add up to a lot.
Partner With Sponsors And Brands.
Because of TikTok’s popularity, celebrities and businesses spend a lot of money promoting their products.
Brands frequently contact their agencies for creators who have previously gone viral on TikTok.
However, the TikTok Creator Marketplace enables creators to receive sponsorship payments directly.
The only social media platform with an integrated creator program is TikTok.
The TikTok Creator Marketplace connects companies and creators. It allows content creators to work with brands on paid campaigns.
You can promote a business or product by mentioning it or using it in your video. Then you get paid for posting sponsored content.
Brands may search for creators and discover their profiles, followers, audience demographics, and engagement data.
Sadly, there is no method for creators to seek brands to cooperate with. Only a brand-facing version is available now.
But before working with brands, you must meet certain conditions (based on age, video content, followers count, and engagement). You must first create a Creator account.
If you meet these requirements, TikTok will welcome you to join or apply.
Then go to your settings, click “Creator Tools,” then “TikTok Creator Marketplace.” You can manage your creator profile here. Modify your profile and select your rate for sponsored films to get recognized by sponsors.
Once famous, you can charge a lot for your content.
Famous creators make between $500 and $20,000 for every video.
The platform does not allow you to accept money from brands directly. You must immediately arrange payments.
After a certain point, it’s not the only way to earn. Some renowned TikTok stars are also cooperating with brands on Instagram.
As one of the trendiest new influencer platforms, TikTok is gaining a lot of attention. Also, there are a lot of influencers that are willing to advertise things.
However, becoming viral isn’t for everyone. Fear of being scrutinized as a celebrity may prevent you from pursuing a career in the spotlight. Manage influencer marketing instead of gaining money. One method to achieve this is to act as a liaison between brands and influencers. You will manage partnerships between brands and influencers like a broker or agency.
You will be responsible for all brand deals, discussions, and payouts. Besides, you’ll have to ensure everyone honors their commitments.
Your job is to perform all of these things flawlessly. Finally, you get a cut from the deals you close between creators and brands.
You may also open your own TikTok agency and assist creators in building their careers. As an agency, you will manage your performers’ public image and prevent them from making mistakes.
Plan And Build Your Website.
First and foremost, develop a business strategy and a high-quality online presence. An effective website combines the best of both worlds; influencer marketing is, after all, a high-fashion business.
Include the kind of influencers you work with and your plans for both creators and companies.
Obtain official authority to create your agency to safeguard your privacy and legal rights.
Scout Influencers In Different Niches.
After obtaining a business license, begin searching for influencers in various industries. You’ll need creators from multiple fields to appeal to many brands. Every company wants to reach out to artists.
For example, a sports brand will want to work with an influencer in the fitness or sports niche.
Luckily, TikTok’s influencer search tools let you find influencers in any niche.
In addition to country, the app allows you to search for musicians based on their follower counts and average TikTok video views.
The TikTok Creator Marketplace is another great place to find relevant creators.
Finally, create a list of influencers by niche on your website.
Maybe you can’t find superstars and A-list influencers at first. Begin by collaborating with micro-influencers to help them grow their careers and go popular on TikTok.
With experience and a successful profession, you may expand your reach by connecting with more creators.
Expand Your Team.
You don’t have to do it all yourself.
If you believe you can contact brands and artists more effectively, hire someone to help you.
There’s a lot to do, including website design, Tiktok content generation, and legal document management. So you need a manager, an accountant, marketing gurus, and a site designer.
Hire the top candidates for appropriate positions. A strong team is essential to a successful business.
Diversify Your Influencer Platforms.
It can operate across numerous platforms by establishing a successful digital marketing agency. Influencer marketing campaigns on social media, apart from TikTok, work similarly. Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube are all included here.
Influencers promote brands and products in return for brand exposure. Your position as a TikTok consultant will stay mostly the same.
You’ll also notice that most TikTok influencers are active on other social media sites.
With enough TikTok influencers, you may promote brands on several channels. Thus, increasing your revenue streams.
And the major influencer marketing agencies promote their influencer networks on TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram, and other platforms.
Sell Your Own Products On TikTok.
Create indirect TikTok ads that offer merchandise or other products on the network to monetize your TikTok channel. It’s a self-sustaining revenue model like your influencer agency.
Bringing your products on TikTok means reaching a varied audience of Gen Z and millennials. Combined, these generations have roughly $150 billion buying power in the US.
This is a huge opportunity.
Preparation is the first step to getting your products seen.
TikTok’s Hashtag Challenge Plus is one way.
Like user-generated content, the idea is to get your audience to create and share content about your product. The shoppable hashtag allows interested shoppers to purchase the product within the app.
When a user clicks on a hashtag, TikTok presents a shoppable landing page. Additionally, the hashtag will be displayed on the discovery page, increasing its visibility.
Kroger, an American retailer, initially tried the Hashtag Challenge.
They enlisted four celebrities to encourage TikTok users to post their dorm makeover films using the hashtag #TransformUrDorm.
The campaign generated over 477 million video views and thousands of UGC videos.
Kroger even established a shoppable brand page where customers could find and buy products directly from the app.
Convincing your target audience to buy your goods is easier with user-generated content (UGC).
If you own an eCommerce site, you can link it in your bio.
If you don’t have a product to sell, you can make your own and sell it to your admirers: T-shirts, mugs, sweaters, etc.
The concept can work well if you already have a large following on the platform.
Designing, manufacturing, sourcing, and shipping will be taken care of by TikTok’s impending cooperation with Teespring.
With Teespring, your fans can buy your products directly from the TikTok app.
You can use other online print-on-demand (POD) platforms to sell your own TikTok products.
Here are some POD places to sell your merch:
These systems enable you to handle drop shipping, printing, manufacturing, etc.
Grow And Sell TikTok Accounts.
Social media account flipping isn’t new.
Many already do so on other social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
You must gain many TikTok followers and maintain engagement to expand a TikTok account. Once you reach a certain number, you can contact brands and individuals who may need your services. Your content strategy, frequent follower interaction, and advice on how to further engage the buyer’s freshly purchased account are all important considerations when flipping TikTok accounts.
I’d propose focusing on one theme, as they are easier to sell. Brands hesitant to start from scratch can easily take it over. And their viewers may not even notice.
For example, if you create a fashion profile, any fashion brand may buy it. Advertising specialty profiles with regular dances and skits are also accessible.
The natural tendency of brands or individuals to seek niche profiles is to search for specific terms.
A website is another option for promoting your services and connecting with potential customers. You can also sell them on sites like Fameswap.
Based on the number of followers, you can estimate the selling price. Simply put, the more followers you have, the more money you can have.
Other than the follower count, there can be other variables.
While no official information is available, here are some possible outcomes:
- 1-13k followers = ~ $100
- 13-50k followers = ~ $100-$500
- 50-100k = ~ $500-$1000
- 100-500k = ~ $1k-5k
- 500k-1M+ = ~ $1k-30k
Launch Your Own Music Or Artist Career.
TikTok is the place to be if you want to get noticed by a professional talent agency.
The social networking platform can lead to worldwide fame and recognition.
Consider Addison Rae.
Other than TikTok, she has become a household name in the US. The influencer was recently invited to Jimmy Fallon’s talk show and had her own Netflix movie.
Not only that, but her new single reached #10 on Shopify’s New Music Friday and Pop Rising lists. According to a recent Forbes report, she earns roughly $5 million a year.
And she’s not alone.
TikTok is responsible for many teen success stories like Addison’s.
The growth potential of social media services like TikTok is astounding.
TikTok can help you start a profession. You can show off your cooking, baking, singing, acting, and more skills.
Your content may be noticed by a producer or other influential person, leading to a life-altering gig.
And getting noticed by a famous person isn’t that important. You can become famous and make money without being scouted by an agency.
Begin by being viral on TikTok, then move to YouTube and Instagram. Then you may start distributing your material to new places, increasing your audience and revenue and you can also be selling merchandise.
You now have a relevant audience, digital publication sources, and a consistent money stream.
How To Grow Your TikTok Profile And Tiktok Account?
The first step in making a lot of money on TikTok is to get viral on the platform.
Regardless of which monetization strategy you intend to use (barring establishing an influencer agency), you must first build your audience base. The more viewers you have, the more revenue you can earn.
Here’s a basic rundown of how to go viral:
- Piggyback on Trending Hashtags – If you include trending hashtags in your content, your story could reach millions of people worldwide.
- Collaborate with a Well-Known Tiktok Creator – Begin by cooperating with a well-known Tiktok creator and keep viewers interested with high-quality content. Even one of today’s most successful influencers, Dixie D’Amelio, ascended through the ranks thanks to her already viral sister Charli D’Amelio.
- Maintain Consistency — When followers perceive that your content is relevant to their interests, they will begin to follow you. However, nothing prevents them from unfollowing you if you change the theme of your material in the middle of it.
- Focus on Video Quality – You only have 60 seconds to engage with your audience and captivate their attention through video – you cannot afford to scrimp on video quality. To make high-quality TikTok videos, consider using top video editing software.
- Use Viral Background Music – TikTok is responsible for many songs going viral. And some popular song videos are shown on other channels, such as a particular YouTube channel or even separate Instagram profiles. As a result, employing viral music in your films rather than in-app audios will undoubtedly reach a larger audience.
- Create Video Tutorials – While many TikTokers are gaining popularity with amusing skits and short movies with lip-sync, you may stand out by offering something more helpful with tutorial videos. For example, if you’re a tech buff, you may demonstrate how the TikTok algorithm works to your viewers. It might also be a simple hair-cut tutorial.
Try these strategies if you want to use TikTok to become a full-time creator and make real money on Tiktok.
The Importance Of Being Authentic
Even if Tiktok has several revenue options, it makes sense to be genuine and engage with your audience. You can’t generate money on TikTok without a loyal fan following.
Comment on their videos, send love, follow them back, and stay active on TikTok every day.
Authenticity is not only required for top TikTok creators. In addition, big businesses and advertisers prefer funding creators with high involvement (likes, comments) in their videos.
So, you need to develop an organic connection with your audience to increase engagement, whether it’s a training video, a lip-sync video or a dance video.
Moreover, real helping influencers build more personal relationships with their followers. Of course, marketers prefer partnering with influencers who can better relate to consumers. In the end, it’s all about engagement.
Everyone who wants to be famous is uploading to TikTok. The millennial-favorite app for uploading short videos lets you show off your talents to the world.
It seems to be known for turning ordinary people into overnight sensations based on their success stories.
You may be the next platform success story.
All you need to do is follow the steps, and you can get your hands on the cash.
Alternatives To Making Money On Tiktok?
Yes, there are plenty of other business models to choose from if you want to pursue this making money online. Here are just a few:
Is Making Money On Tiktok A Scam?
Time for the $1,000,000 question: is How To Make Money On Tiktok actually a scam?
I wouldn’t technically call it a scam, though others might.
It’s technically possible to make money with this program, so in that sense, it isn’t a scam.
No one is riding off into the sunset with your money, leaving you empty-handed… technically speaking.
But the second, more important question is: is How To Make Money On Tiktok actually worth the investment?
My honest answer is that for most people out there, probably not.
There are countless other business models that are proven & easily scalable, so why risk it for… not an incredibly huge payoff?
I’d rather have a program with thousands of successful students & plenty of room for others to join.
If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know I recommend a few different programs depending on your skills & goals.
My current top choice is becoming a Digital Landlord, because you have a proven, systematic path to 6-figures, and you can do it from anywhere you want.
I’ve got friends in there posting deals from the middle of the woods in a camper-van with their pet pig… which is cool.
My #1 Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2022?
Alright, time for me to get real with my lovely readers for a moment:
I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:
- I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
- I’ve dropshipped a toilet bowl putting green on Shopify
- I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing
And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.
THAT BEING SAID: I would at least recommend you implement something that is tried and true because I’ve seen TOO MANY people (including friends and family) get burned by stuff like How To Make Money On Tiktok.
They come out of left-field with some random idea, make it seem attractive, and then make themselves a quick buck by luring in unsuspecting people.
I’m not saying How To Make Money On Tiktok is a waste of time; I’m just saying you need to be very careful.
This is a big reason why I only recommend proven, tried, and true business models, like Lead Generation & Ad Agencies.
There are a bunch of programs out there that teach you those skills, but my top choice is the Digital Landlords program.
Why? It has proven leaders with their own 7-figure businesses implementing exactly what they teach you.
I’ve also got over a dozen personal friends in there, so I feel comfortable telling you it works.
Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, their program works.
1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.
And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring (for the most part).
That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.
But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.
2)Big Margins: With most businesses, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money.
Being a Digital Landlord, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.
Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.
Best-case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on “auto-pilot.”
3)It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…
If you wanted to double your income with social networking, you would need to exert time and effort. And I can guarantee you, that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.
4)You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with social networking is that you’re basically only helping yourself.
But when you’re a Digital Landlord, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:
Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If you can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.
You’re helping a struggling mother or father put food on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.
Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.
So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other off-the-wall business models like social networking and maybe hit it big one day.
You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.
OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.
Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.
If this sounds like you, click here to see how it all works.
