Welcome to my Base Camp Trading review. My goal is to answer common questions like: how much it costs, if it's a scam, and if you can actually make money with it. The end goal is to help you understand if it's a good fit for you personally, and if there are any better alternatives out there.

Is Basecamp Trading a scam or not?

You’ll learn a valuable lesson from this review: not everything that looks great on paper is good for you.

I’ll take a look at Base Camp Trading to see if it’s the best trading course available today.

Let’s see if trading is the ideal online business for you.

If you’re like most of my readers, you came across Basecamp Trading for one main reason:

You want to make more money than you currently make by leveraging your existing resources.

Maybe you’re even looking for a quick turnaround on some of your cash, instead of waiting years, or even decades for it to double.

Well, you’re in good company – who wouldn’t want all of that?

There’s one thing you need to watch out for though: legitimate scammers.

The idea of making 10X on your money in a day is obviously something that would entice the masses, and so it naturally attracts a lot of bad actors into the financial products space.

But for purposes of this review, let’s assume these people had the best of intentions.

Even with the most sophisticated systems out there, most experts barely manage to get it right 10% of the time…

Obviously, there’s an argument that 1 winning bet can outshine 10 losing ones…

But if you mess up and miss a trade even one time, your month can turn sour pretty quickly.

Suffice to say, there’s a whole lot of stress & uncertainty.

Now don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to lose money. I’m just saying that you need to be aware of what you’re getting yourself into.

But what if you could build a different income stream, and start seeing profits within your first few days?

I’m talking about a system that doesn’t require:

  • Obsessively checking your phone and charts
  • The emotional turmoil of loss after loss, waiting for that win
  • Glorified gambling

Something that you could make anywhere from $2,000 – $10,000 with consistently, month after month?

A stream of income that you can build as high (or low) as you feel like building it, without spending every waking hour watching for alerts and pouring over charts?

If that sounds interesting, you might want to think about using the Digital Rental Method.

Basecamp Trading Review: The Drew Day Scam!

Base Camp Trading

I haven’t come across several Basecamp Trading reviews online. So, the majority of people reading this Base Camp Trading review will be happy to hear this news.

To start, this is a trading company run by shady and top-tier Twitter marketers. Furthermore, there are a variety of trading items for sale here.

It all costs money.

By the time you check out the workshops, the mentorships, the trading indicators, etc., you’ll have invested a minimum of $6,000.

So, definitely give it some thought.

Base Camp Trading has a lot of useless trading indicators, educational seminars, and private mentorship.

The original site (ValueCharts.com) used to be operated by three men: Mark Helweg, Dave Aquino, and Thomas Wood. They’ve re-branded Value Charts to what we know these days as Basecamp Trading.

The founder utilizes the name Drew Day. It’s not really clear if he’s using an alias or not. I do know that most naive traders hoping to make overnight riches shouldn’t spend much money on this trading institution just to get a unicorn.

I doubt whether Drew Day or the other men he’s allegedly running this company with are also competent to give investment advice to anybody.

Is the trading information provided at BaseCampTrading really legitimate?

No, not really!

You will find 20 indicators and 32 workshops at BasecampTrading.com. These trading indicators cost you anywhere between $140 and $2,000.

Just when you think you’ve bought all the trading stuff that you need from Drew Day and don’t want to buy any more trading products, Base Camp Trading throws you a curveball and reminds you of all the other information you can buy in their trading workshops.

The least expensive trading lesson will cost you $7, while the most expensive trading item goes up to $2,000.

You must draw most of these trading courses and several signs to be a specialist trader.

The Base Camp Trading Site

Base Camp Trading Site

When I looked at this landing page (basecamptrading.co), I found out that the trading educator sells access to a trading room.

They claim that this normally costs $147 per month, but they will let you in for $97 per month. And upon looking at it closely, I discovered that Drew Day and his team charge $7 for the first 30 days and then $97 every month.

In this particular trading room, traders get a chance to access the following:

  1. Futures, Options, Stocks, and Forex mentorship
  2. Four primary trading style courses (videos, audio, and articles showing trade setups)
  3. Daily trade analysis and commentary
  4. 10 minutes or less Base Camp Trading Weekly Outlook
  5. Private member-only chat
  6. New member orientation (live)

Drew Day and his team have published a lot of testimonials from people who say they gained money adopting the strategies in the live trading room to make the program look worthwhile.

The 30-Day Trading Challenge

What Is The 30 Day Trading Challenge

Base Camp Trading offers a 30-day trading challenge in which students can master a variety of trading strategies in only one month.

The promises they make here are unreasonable and sound like a sales gimmick. Screenshots of allegedly student profits back up this claim. A third party has not validated or audited these numbers.

Who Are Dave Aquino, Mark Helwig, Brian Strong, And Thomas Wood?

Who Are These Gurus

All these trading gurus are using fancy titles, making them sound like they are professionals in the topic of trading.

I have noticed titles such as:

  • Investment Software Developer
  • Hedge Fund Manager
  • Director of Trading Operations
  • Advisor to many traders worldwide
  • Partner of Supero Capital
  • Quantitative Engineer
  • Patent Holder

And so on…

In truth, the main point here is only the bottom line. Very few of these men can confirm that they trade and make money on a live broker bank account.

So what?

So you have to realize that these fancy titles, as well as snake oil trading indicators, can be a huge distraction.

As the person who investigates and publishes a review this way, I’ll concentrate on the points that matter.

Things like the quality of products sold there, trading rooms, evidence of effective live trading, etc., are at the top of my priority list.

Here’s How You Get Scammed

How You Get Scammed

Students don’t receive performance disclosures in the trading room. Moreover, although they claim to be full-time professional traders, none of the students has ever shown their trading history.

The first thing I did in this trading room was search for useful information or trade suggestions. Because there were a lot of discussions, I went through the captured screenshots for this info.

I was irritated because the trading moderators kept talking and not trading.

This sort of hollow conversation just won’t cut it in a trading room handled by an Investment Software Developer, Director of Trading Operations, Hedge Fund Manager, etc.

Thomas Wood of Base Camp Trading was obviously paper trading with a simulated account. A real trade station account should have things like a real-time summary, balance, and account number at the bottom part of the right hand of the screen.

These questionable marketing strategies are deceptive.

Base Camp Trading really should be an education platform for traders with classes and trading rooms, so traders can learn from professionals.

Nevertheless, it lacks some qualities of being a legitimate company.

Its owners state that they’re professionals without any proof, its products lack value, and its trading rooms lack some activity.

In my Base Camp Trading review, I show how these individuals are scamming newer traders. So, I’m hoping my review will help you in creating a better-informed choice about this company.

Wanna-Be Masterminds Of Base Camp Trading

Masterminds Of Basecamp Trading

Base Camp Trading is an excellent example of “never judge the book by its cover.”

The team behind this scam looks well on paper, which will help them trap more individuals within their sleazy schemes.

The program is the brainchild of five dudes:

  • Dave Aquino
  • John Osborn
  • Thomas Wood
  • Drew Day
  • Brian Strong

Drew is the founder and president.

He promises to have 16 years of experience as a hedge fund manager and a speaker. Also, he claims he’s managed over $6.5 billion worth of assets.

He is a CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor), and like him, the majority of the staff looks great on the paper also.

This band of “golden boys” enables Base Camp Trading to persuade people that they will get the value they need.

Unfortunately, most of these scam victims are individuals who get fooled by accolades and titles.

Base Camp Trading leaves a lot to be desired in terms of delivering performance and results.

Yep, Base Camp Trading Is Scamming You…

This company takes advantage of both experienced and inexperienced traders by selling them useless items and a shady membership. Their entire business model is based on scamming clients. Their trading room is lacking true professionals, their courses are worthless, and their information is inconsistent.

I’ve mentioned all of the questionable aspects of Base Camp Trading in information in the following points:

Useless Products

Base Camp Trading sells rubbish to its customers by repackaging it in various ways.

If you browsed through their landing sites, you’d be swamped with many pointless products.

For less than $7, they’re offering courses, futures trading, trading rooms, VIP customer support, and a whole lot more?

If they can provide a great deal at $7, you really have to consider the quality of the products.

They claim this program is a must-have for any trader, which is why they’re providing it FOR FREE for their members.

I really don’t buy it.

Otherwise, why would they always keep a $900 course at no cost when they currently sell many classes in their shop?

It doesn’t seem sensible.

The Deceiving Trading Room

This is where price action happens.

Basecamptrading.com has a trading room that runs from 9 AM to 12 AM. They provide you the option to test this room with their $7 monthly subscription.

However, it only lasts a month, so they will charge you $147 for the whole month. They primarily specialize in options, futures, and commodity trading, so they have two-day trading rooms.

Thomas Wood moderates the futures day trading room, while Dave Aquino manages the options day trading room.

The trading rooms all claim to assist traders in communicating and learning from other experienced traders.

However, there is no real community here.

Base Camp Trading has trading-style programs, their Weekly Outlook, daily trade review and analysis, their private member-only chat room, and a live new member orientation session.

Can You Make Money With Base Camp Trading?

Can You Make Money With Basecamp Trading

Maybe, but I really doubt it.

They don’t provide services that they claim would.

Now don’t get me wrong…

You can certainly make money with trading, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a trader (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same trading skills but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Is Base Camp Trading Legit?

is it legit

Nope, Base Camp Trading is not legit.

But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.

And even if you’re dead set on becoming a trader, you’ve got way better options than Base Camp Trading.

Keep in mind that I don’t get paid to promote any of the programs I review. I personally think trading is a great business model, but you could end up leaving way too much money on the table.

Are There Alternatives To Base Camp Trading?

Other Business Model To Choose From

Yes, there are plenty of other alternatives to choose from if you want to pursue making money online.  Here are just a few:

Is Base Camp Trading A Scam?

Is It A Scam

Alright, time for the $1,000,000 question: is Base Camp Trading a scam?

No, not technically. You can 100% make money with it, but it’s not NEARLY as simple as they want you to think it is.

With financial products, you need to understand that you are taking a very big risk.

So while it’s entirely possible that you hit the big leagues and retire to a vineyard… the path to get there is so stressful, it might just shave a decade off your life… IF you even get there.

A friend of mine actually writes advertisements for one of the largest financial program advertisers in the world… so believe me when I say that most of the “awesome” numbers they use in their ads & landing pages are borderline false.

What they conveniently leave out are the dozens of losing bets and trades that came before the big win you’re reading about.

Did Base Camp Trading Make The List?

Now, most people don’t have the emotional bandwidth to stick out 3 months of back-to-back losses before (hopefully) getting a big win.

I’d rather use that 3 months of work (in my spare time) building Digital Rental Properties, and then collect a handful of nice little $500-$2,000 checks every single month afterward (AKA passive income).

And the cool part is that you can do it in a lot less time than 3-months (I personally did it in my first 2 weeks of using the Digital Rental Method).

You can do it from anywhere in the world, so it’s a genuine “laptop-lifestyle” business.

All you need is a laptop and an internet connection.

Some of my friends are Digital Rental Method that run their 6-figure businesses from:

  • Camping trips at national parks
  • Beachfront in Hawaii
  • On the road in a camper van (with a pet pig!)

They focus on living an enjoyable life first, and focus on income second. All thanks to this program

They can take weeks or months off, and money keeps rolling in.

Living happily is the top priority.

If the thought of living perpetually at your dream vacation spot interests you, being a Digital Landlord might be for you!

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2023?

Digital Landlord Making Money Online

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

  • I’ve traded crypto & purchased a bunch of fancy “insider stock tip” newsletters
  • I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
  • I’ve dropshipped a toilet bowl putting green on Shopify
  • I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down: being a Digital Landlord.

Whether you’re a complete newbie or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, using the Digital Rental Method is for you.

Why?

1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. You can do this if you want to drop everything and go all-in. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: When it comes to the markets, nothing is in your control. You have zero influence over market-shifting macro-economic trends.

The number of people that have ACTUALLY beat the market consistently can be counted on one hand.

Why pour your soul into a business that you realistically have zero control over?

With the Digital Rental Method, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

3) It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income in the markets, you would need to make twice as many winning trades or double your profit on each trade. And I can guarantee you that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

4) Make Money Helping Real People: When you make money in the markets, you’re not really helping anyone but yourself. There is a loser on the other end of that trade.

But With the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If you can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

You’re helping a struggling mother or father put food on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other programs like Basecamp Trading, which might make you money if you luck out.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people that need it.
