But it seems like Jamar and the crew are overcomplicating things..

Jamar claims to have found a new hidden loophole.

The idea here is that you become an Amazon Influencer and get paid for making product review videos. Every time shoppers watch your video and buy the same product, you’re rewarded a very tiny commission.

Wellll…there’s only one problem, Jamar.

Sometimes the money comes, and sometimes it doesn’t…

Your video resonates with all the other dog owners suffering the same issue.. and now it’s churning sales…Well, for a $30 pet bed, you’re getting a 3% commission, which comes out to 90 cents per sale.

Congratulations!

All you need is just 10,000 more of them, and that’ll put you at about 6 figures for the month…

Most people aren’t really scrolling through all of the videos, so unless you’re at the very top, I doubt your video will be seen at all. And these videos are placed BELOW the actual product video that the seller puts out.

But before you can even qualify for onsite commissions, you need to get approved..

To do that, you’re probably gonna need:

• 500+ followers on social media (as outlined in the course)
• A high engagement rate on social media (probably 10% or more, so 50 likes for 500 followers)
• An Amazon storefront

I say probably because nobody really knows what it takes to get approved.. Amazon leaves that stuff vague.

But there are other ways to make money with this as well..

Every Amazon Influencer has a dedicated storefront, where you can drive traffic to it via your YouTube channel, TikTok, or Instagram.

For example, if you’re a mom influencer, you can make lifestyle content centered around your newborn baby. You’d be the beacon of light for other mothers.. Then they click on your link in bio, and they can shop your recommended products.

Another way is with Amazon Live.

As an Amazon influencer, you’d hop on live streams and chit-chat with your fans about your recommended products.

Say you’re a fashionista, you can show people how to put together a wardrobe on a budget, or if you’re a tech wiz, you can show people how to set up a smart home with Amazon lightbulbs. When they use your link, you get credit for the sale.

To make it as an influencer, it’s gonna take a whole lotta effort. And the payout?

Well, that’s far from guaranteed.

Who Is Jamar Jones And Dom Bavaro?

Jamar Jones is the brains behind the Retail Influencer Mastery program and the Digital Marketing Misfits podcast.

He’s a SaaS entrepreneur and a Go-High Level affiliate, and he runs Digital Escape, a brand teaching others how to start affiliate marketing.

Dom Bavaro is the guy who presents in the free webinar. He’s built quite the following on social media with over 139.8k followers on TikTok, which is probably why he preaches about becoming an influencer so much.

The man also has his hands tied up in all types of businesses. Dom offers services like custom website designs, Amazon shoppable videos and sells software called Lead Vortex..

Honestly, if I were him, I’d probably focus on Lead Vortex because lead generation is simply a better business model than this Amazon Influencer stuff.

The other main characters inside Digital Marketing Misfits are Jason Minor, Regan Oaks, and Mark Scott.

With everyone being so busy with their side projects, it makes me wonder how invested they are in this program…

Digital Marketing Misfits is a podcast run by a cast of experienced marketers where they share their stories and insights of for all things marketing.

These guys discuss current trends in the marketplace and aim to make digital marketing fun for listeners.

They’re also the founders of the Retail Influencer Mastery program.

How Much Does Retail Influencer Mastery Cost?

Retail Influencer Mastery (RIM) is a free product. All you have to do is listen to their 45-minute webinar, and they give you full access to a video training series on how to get started with the Amazon Influencer program.

That said, their main offer is Retail Influencer Mastery Plus, which includes a bunch of bells and whistles. They gatekeep their best stuff to get you to buy their subscription-based program.

It’s $150 per month, which comes with extra resources, a private community, live coaching, and all the strategies that are currently working in the Amazon Influencer space.

Is There A Refund Policy?

Retail Influencer Mastery Plus has no refunds. If you’re unhappy with the program, tough beans.

At least you can cancel anytime, so you’re not charged for it again.

My Personal Opinion On Jamar Jones And Digital Marketing Misfits

A lot of times, it’s a real hassle to figure out which programs are a scams and which ones are worth recommending..

Every month, there seems to be a new loophole or secret hack you can take advantage of to make money without doing much work..

It used to be dropshipping fidget spinners or taking paid surveys. These days, it’s things like creating faceless automation YouTube channels or filming product reviews.

With all the hardship that life can bring, I understand why that can sound so appealing..

That said, I wanna give you my criteria for how I evaluate programs so you know what to look for.

Here’s a few things to consider:

• Check for the guru’s credentials and ensure they have had success doing this business for a long time..
• Is it easy to make 6-figures or more passively with this?
• Can you realistically quit your job from something like this?

With the criteria in place, let’s see how Retail Influencer Mastery stacks up…

Okay, we’ll start with the positives.

I do like that Jamar gives you a built-in course for free. And that their paid program provides a private community of students and live coaching calls. While I’m concerned about how involved these gurus are, it’s still a positive nonetheless.

And to be fair here’s a few negatives that should make you think twice about becoming an Amazon Influencer.

• These guys have been only doing this for a year or two since the onsite commissions are a new feature released by Amazon. By the time you read this, chances are the space will become way more competitive.
• The margins are tiny, with most popular product categories set at about 3% commission rates. Making 6 figures is gonna be a real uphill battle.
• There’s no way you can quit your job without knowing what you’ll make every month. If Amazon repositions where they place your videos, you could lose your business overnight.. Or if other competitors outrank your videos, there goes a big chunk of your income.

Is There a Retail Influencer Mastery Scam Going On Here?

The program has recently changed its name from Amazon Anonymous Influencer to Retail Influencer Mastery..

While it is a little suspicious they would change the name outta the blue, I wouldn’t call them a scam.

I seriously doubt the guys and gals at Digital Marketing Misfits are orchestrating some kind of illegal Ponzi scheme.

They seem like genuine people.

That said, making money as an Amazon Influencer is a lot harder than what they make it out to be. It’s kinda like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.. Good luck!

First, getting accepted for onsite commissions is tough.

Amazon is vague about what criteria they look for to get accepted and when your videos actually show up.

Take this guy who has tried a few weeks and still can’t make it work.

Even if you are approved… it’s really random as to when your videos will appear on product pages.

And if you do rank, there’s no guarantee customers are gonna watch your videos.

Face it, out of all the people who buy a product, only a small percentage will watch 30 seconds of your video.

And if a customer watches multiple videos, it’s unclear as to who gets the credit.

Take this Redditor who has hit a slump on his Amazon Influencer journey.

This person spends time scripting videos, hoping and praying his videos show up…

If only this person knew about the Digital Rental Method…Then, they wouldn’t have to waste a bunch of time on efforts that didn’t produce any results.

That’s kinda the thing with becoming an Amazon Influencer. Because you don’t control anything, there’s no way to predictably know what will bring guaranteed results…

At this point, you might have better odds at the poker table in Las Vegas.

If you don’t want to spend your days:

• Content planning and scripting videos
• Scouring Amazon for products to review
• Rubbing shoulders with other influencers to grow your TikTok following
• Recording Amazon live streams everyday

Then, I’d probably move on from Retail Influencer Mastery.

Instead, you could put in similar time and score consistent passive income every single month.

Rather than helping Jeff Bezos buy another yacht, you could be making a difference in your local economy…

So, should you hand over your hard-earned money to Digital Marketing Misfits?

I wouldn’t.

Sure, it sounds like a good idea.

If all you needed to do was film a few 1-minute videos, why put yourself through hell trying to start an online business…

But like most side hustle “hacks”, it’s a lot harder than it looks. Amazon is vague about what it takes to actually get into their influencer program, so it’s really anyone’s guess as to what the requirements actually are.. Believe me, Jamal doesn’t even know..

Even if you do get into this secret society of Amazon influencers, you’re competing with people filming videos all day. Soon, your video is gonna be lost in the shuffle with a sea of millions…

It’s kinda like affiliate marketing. You could technically write blogs and post millions of links… But if nobody clicks and buys, it’s useless.

At this point, I’d look for Amazon Anonymous Influencer alternatives.

The Digital Rental Method is one of the few programs I know of that actually delivers. It works because it’s a tried and true business model that doesn’t require you to play the guessing game.

It’s got the passive income potential, and you get paid predictably every month, which is more than what we can say about this Amazon Influencer stuff..

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models, along with other random ways to make money, such as:

• I’ve promoted women’s health supplements

And I can guarantee you (from my days selling women’s health products as an affiliate), that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

4)Great Margins: Margins as an Amazon Influencer are between 1 to 20%, which is very low. If you focus on high-ticket stuff, you typically have a lot more competition to worry about.
