Welcome to my The Smart Crowd review. My goal is to answer common questions like: how much it costs, if it's a scam, & if you can actually make money with it. The end goal is to help you understand if it's a good fit for you personally, and if there are any better alternatives out there.

This The Smart Crowd review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

What I Liked

What I Didn't Like

Before we get into it... who am i?

Always good to put a name to a face, so firstly, my name is Hope!

Like you, I was stuck working 8-10 hour days building someone else’s dream.

I worked at one of those cool tech companies that has omelet stations for breakfast & craft beer on tap for after hours.

To a lot of people that’s a dream, but to me… something was missing.

All I really wanted, was to actually enjoy life – more vacations, less stress, buy myself nice things without worrying about the cost… but that was something my 9-5 couldn’t provide me.

That was until a few years ago when I discovered a way to make money online by actually helping real people.

People in this case were local business owners across the US.

Me and My Puppy

The page above is an example of how I do it. That one-page site generates $1,500/mo and I haven’t even touched it since it was put up.

That’s an $18,000/year raise from just one page.

That’s why local lead generation is my #1 business recommendation for recurring, semi-passive income. If you want to learn about that business model, click here.

Important: I am not an affiliate

for The Smart Crowd

Why Does That Matter?

A lot of course reviewers have no experience with any of the business models or programs they review, and so they’re just making stuff up.

They do that because they want you to click through their link to buy from the person that the review is about!

They have no clue what it’s actually like to run the type of business The Smart Crowd is teaching you to do.
I have absolutely no relationship with The Smart Crowd, so you can rest easy knowing that I’m going to give you my honest opinion
This review is written based on my own experiences with this business model.

All that being said, let’s jump into things.

Smart Crowd Overview

Smart Crowd Overview

Product Name: The Smart Crowd

Founder: Lionbridge

Summary: Smart Crowd, formerly known as Virtual Bee, is the most rapidly expanding internet company today. Many freelancers and contractors from across the world use Smart Crowd’s service.

Smart Crowd can deliver a fair amount of diverse jobs to its target workforce, ranging from the easiest to the oddest and most difficult outsourced freelance jobs available.

What Is The Smart Crowd?

Best Online Employment

Job-sourcing website The Smart Crowd offers freelancers and contractors a variety of online employment.

Smart Crowd is effectively a middleman that connects businesses that need different, mostly minor tasks to be completed with freelancers who are willing to do some odd online jobs to make money.

They have some big names in their client list so there could possibly be multiple jobs available.

By big names, I mean the following:

  • HP
  • LRN
  • Microsoft
  • Motorola
  • Nokia
  • Pearson
  • Pfizer
  • Philips
  • Porsche
  • PTC
  • RIM
  • Rolls Royce
  • Samsung
  • Skillsoft
  • The US Department of Justice

There Are 3 Phases To Getting Work With The Smart Crowd.

Apply Now At Smart Crowd

#1 Request An Application.

This program is only open to those above the age of 18. A request for an application can be made by visiting their website.

#2 Filling Out An Application.

You need to be at least 18 years old to qualify. To join Smart Crowd, just request an application via their website.

I’d like to also mention that on their website, you will see a section labeled “Important Info” where they say that no marketing emails would be sent to you.

This is a relief because you won’t have to worry about any emails flooding your inbox. Giving you a heads up like this since they do have your email address is a good thing.

As in any job application, you will want to provide an extensive account of your job experience and expertise to increase your likelihood of getting hired.

But doing well on the placement tests is what really makes you stand out.

#3 Placement Evaluations

The placement evaluations are an important component of the application process.

  • Completing the evaluations to demonstrate your ability is a required step in this process. You must attend at least one of these sessions.
  • Because of the large number of individuals participating, high scores on these tests are needed.
  • The higher your ranking (up to 100), the better.
  • You may take as much as you want, but you may only do so once for each.

Below is an example:

There are 3 major areas included in the placement tests where you need to score high:

Take Their Exam Online

1. Reading Comprehension In English

At least ten questions based on an English essay will be asked of you in this exam, which measures your reading comprehension.

2. Business Address Matching

This section is designed to test your attention to detail since address matching is a component of the different job offers.

It involves the comparison of two addresses to determine whether or not they are identical.

Throughout this test, the candidate must examine each detail, particularly whether the addresses are similar or not, since this will assess their ability to sustain at least 70% of the related jobs that Smart Crowd provides.

3. Reading Comprehension In A Second Language

Because Smart Crowd works with worldwide companies that demand workers to do a wide range of unusual duties, being fluent in another language is critical.

Proficiency in this area would greatly increase your odds of landing a job.

Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish are among the languages spoken.

After you’ve completed one placement test, you will be allowed to focus only on tasks that are relevant to the skill you’ve shown according to your answers in the placement test.

Once more, the higher you score, the more work you are likely to get.

Freelancer Jobs: The Jobs At Smart Crowd

The following are the top jobs in the Smart Crowd platform:

Ads Quality Rater

Ads Quality Rater

Crowdsourcing is required for this role, which involves evaluating advertising on clients’ websites to determine whether or not it’s reaching the advertiser’s stated goal.

Internet Assessor

In this role, you will be employed to evaluate the usability of a company’s website. If there is something that should be modified, you will inform the company about your feedback on their website.

Interpreter Or Translator

Considering the Smart Crowd’s wide foreign market, the multiple documents from second-language writers which require translation and interpretation are a significant amount of work.

Search Engine Evaluator

Search Engine Evaluator

This is comparable to working as an Internet Assessor. You will make evaluations of search engine results to determine whether or not they are relevant to the words typed and searched on the internet.

Social Media Evaluator

Your job here is to assess social media ads, as well as check the relevancy and quality of a client’s social media. The minimum requirements for this task are:

  • An Android or Apple device that is no more than three years old.
  • A high degree of cultural understanding in areas such as media, entertainment, business, sports, and others.

Map Quality Analyst

Map Quality Analyst

Posting maps on online profiles of websites is one job prospect.

Smart Crowd workers are required to determine if these maps are suitable enough for posting. In other words, they will check if they need to be enhanced or edited to create a high-quality image.

Test Associate

Many companies need people to test certain areas of their work as well as their general operations.

Test associates are given a very specific task of testing those areas required by the clients and provide feedback through survey forms, interviews, or reports.

Data Entry Work

Data Entry Work

Samples of data entry work are:

  • Typing
  • Transcription
  • Verification and correction of data
  • Preparation and organization of documents for data entry
  • Entry of data from documents into the required format

Voice Data Collection

The collection of voice data is done to generate new voices for various programs and services in the industry.

Crowd workers assigned to these functions would be required to read something and submit a voice recording.

Who Uses The Smart Crowd?

Good For Businesses And General Public

The Lionbridge Smart Crowd is geared at two distinct audiences: business and the general public. Companies attempt to outsource any tasks that their employees cannot finish because they are overworked. Those looking for methods to generate money online make up the second category of individuals.

The platform is an outlet for corporations and enterprises to get their incomplete work done by outsourcing it.

The Smart Crowd employs thousands of workers qualified to perform a variety of tasks such as data entry, social media evaluation, translator work, and many others.

The platform provides an incentive for people like you to earn money by doing different small tasks. The tasks that the platform receives from its customers are broken down into smaller tasks, which are then posted to their subscribers.

You get compensated for each small task that you complete, and the compensation is determined by the kind of task given to you.

How Much Can You Make From The Smart Crowd Job Platform?

Earn Based On Tasks Done

Currently, different tasks are paid at different rates.

Each Smart Crowd worker’s earning potential is largely dependent on their level of expertise.

Once you get an opportunity to prove your skills, your placement assessment score will be the deciding factor in whether or not you will be hired and what your pay will be.

You could earn as little as $1 an hour or as much as $35 an hour – but these are just rough estimates.

As per’s survey on Lionbridge wages, test operators can earn $10.44/hour (3 salaries reported) and participants can earn $44.36/hour (6 salaries reported).

There was usually insufficient evidence to indicate a minimum or maximum recorded wage.

You can certainly make money with outsourced jobs, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a home-based worker (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my own online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same work-from-home skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Pros And Cons Of Smart Crowd

Pros and Cons

  • Legally, Smart Crowd lets freelancers and independent contractors with unique talents earn money from foreign customers.
  • People searching for part-time jobs, in particular, will profit greatly from Smart Crowd’s program.
  • Each task has a specific payment that is made clear before you begin.
  • They share tools and advice to aid you in your work-from-home set-up.
  • Since the job is done remotely, you can accomplish the assigned tasks to you from just about anywhere.

The earning potential of a Smart Crowd worker is highly dependent on the individual’s ability and desire to get odd jobs and train more in order to receive higher-paying assignments.

  • Even though Smart Crowd links worldwide customers with international freelancers, there is still a severe lack of projects accessible to everyone.
  • Given the growing labor force, there is bound to be stiff competition, hence the very long waiting list. Not just that, but workers are often in short supply. If you want to make a lot of money or a certain sum of money, this might not be the work for you.
  • You will not be able to work on a daily basis.
  • You won’t really make big money here. In reality, you are not compensated by the hour, but by the job completed. The majority of the jobs are time-consuming and pay relatively little.
  • The majority of the tasks offer extremely low limits as low as one hour per day. There is also a weekly maximum limit of 20 hours which is certainly not full-time work.

Is It A Scam?

Is It A Scam

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful work-from-home business… But there are better ways to build a business other than with work from home.

Our #1 pick proves this.

Because, unlike Smart Crowd, it actually provides real proof of success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Conclusion: The Smart Crowd Review Final Thoughts!

Smart Crowd Is Legit

Having read this SmartCrowd review, it is evident that the site is safe and trustworthy.

Its legitimacy isn’t the problem here though. If you are someone who is looking for a full-time income, this isn’t the opportunity for you.

Smart Crowd is best for those who want extra income.

The Smart Crowd has undoubtedly found a niche, and they are unquestionably one of the larger businesses to work within this market.

However, as previously said, while Smart Crowd is legitimate, it does not guarantee that you can make enough money to meet all of your needs.

The issue is that there are only a few skilled jobs available which are the higher-paying ones.

To land one, you must either perform exceptionally well on your placement exam or do a large number of mediocre jobs.

But you would have to deliver excellent results in order to get high ratings and recommendations.

The bottom line is that if you want to do freelance work, it will take a long time to develop yourself and get established. And the availability of work in this organization is often unreliable.

This is also what most of the users’ comments and feedback say.

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money From Home In 2022?

Digital Real Estate Better Than Smart Crowd

My review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Real Estate!

Where Smart Crowd falls short is in scalability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to work all hours of the day from home doing cheap little surveys… you’d run out of time.

But what if you leverage it?

With this digital real estate program, you will be getting clicks from multiple sites every minute of the day and never have to pick up a phone once!

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, even email it to them!

This works for literally any service-based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

But how do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example, and go by the worst-case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at the bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it digital real estate now?

That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.

Remember Smart Crowd doesn’t really offer huge profit margins, right?

This one actually allows you to collect big sums without being on the internet all day.

Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice-over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group that is so much better than any of the groups you’ll find for other models in our opinion.

This group is much more active.

Unlike Smart Crowd, where you’re just a slave to time…these websites turn into your employees and they work 24/7. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact, it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.

Unlike Smart Crowd, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital real estate allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent WITH your family
