The course is also a precursor to the Rainmaker Challenge Academy, which costs $4000. This seems like a bait-and-switch tactic to me… but it’s clever and entirely harmless.

It’s also worth noting that this course may be too basic for some people who already have some experience selling on Amazon.

Sounds awesome, right? Well, wait till you learn about the Digital Landlord experience. Especially if you’re not sure about how sustainable an Amazon-tied business will be, Digital Landlord may be a better fit.

The Journey: From Photography to E-commerce

Stephen and Chelsey used to be wedding photographers.

Now to the million-dollar question; Is there a Rainmaker Challenge scam?

Well, Stephen and Chelsey’s Rainmaker Challenge program is legit.

The program is founded on the principles of the Amazon FBA business model.

Amazon FBA is a legitimate way of making money online.

However, I wouldn’t recommend this business model. That’s because the program only takes you through the basics of how to get started with Amazon FBA. Plus, the market is also saturated with Amazon sellers.

You need a program that is more current and introduces a unique idea to run a successful online business.

Over the years, I’ve tried out lots of complete Amazon FBA courses. While some of them have been crappy, some have been very resourceful.

5. Support. You need to choose a course that offers its students ongoing support and guidance. It should also provide access to a network of fellow students and sellers. This allows you to ask questions, share feedback, and learn from other experienced sellers. Ensure you check reviews online to find out if the gurus don’t respond to queries or concerns.

The Positives

Here’s how the 7-day challenge performs well:

1. Affordable Price: I love that the Rainmaker Challenge is cost-effective. I’ve seen courses that charge you thousands of dollars to learn the basics of Amazon FBA. The Rainmaker Challenge is a smart way to test the waters of Amazon FBA without a big financial risk.
2. Great support: The Rainmaker Challenge offers you an amazing support system. You can ask Chelsey and Stephen anything through their support desk. You can also connect with other sellers on their Facebook group. Even better, the program gives you a personal “support nurse” to help you every day by text. This is a member who finished the challenge.
3. Value for money. Chelsey and Stephen have bonuses that accompany the 7-day challenge. You also get free prizes and giveaways ranging from AirPods Pro ($250) to the Rainmakers Academy course ($4000).

The Negatives

Here’s where the Rainmaker Challenge doesn’t do well:

1. They don’t honor their refund policy. Customers like this reviewer on Trustpilot have had struggles getting their refunds. The student said she lost over $4,000 to the program and wasn’t able to secure a refund.
2. Unhelpful Facebook group. There have been several complaints from past students claiming that the Facebook group is inactive. You are also unable to ask questions or raise concerns because your posts don’t get uploaded. They also delete posts and cancel members. That’s a shitty move if you ask me.
3. Crazy upsells. I’m not against upsells, especially if they are valuable for your journey using a program. However, some students have reported having upsells that totaled $15,000 with no refund. For a program that claims to help moms transition from their 9 to 5, this is something you need to be careful about.

Day 2 – How Much Time Is Required?

The second day of the Rainmaker Academy course will answer the question, “How much time does it take to make passive income happen?”.

Based on the introduction video sent to me in my email, I know they’ll claim you only need to invest 4 to 5 hours a week.

But take it from me; that’s not true with this business model. Passive income is a long-term goal. Thus, you should be ready to put in a lot of effort and dedication.

You’ll get some tips on how to save time running their business from other challenge members.

The guests will also share their strategies. So you’ll also learn about tools for automating tasks.

It’s important to note that to reach a level of true “passive income,” you will need to work with a team. They can help manage and grow your online business for you.

Now, the Amazon FBA business model requires you to oversee and monitor your business. This means you’ll not be completely passive…

Also, building your business from scratch will require you to:

• Learn new skills
• Test different products and marketing campaigns
• Overcome various challenges

So you have to be patient, consistent, and committed to your goals.

Looking at the video made it seem like a tedious experience. But it doesn’t have to be that complicated.

There are several ways to go around it;

For instance, you can go to the Alibaba website. There are many manufacturers and agents offering products at very low prices on the platform.

Some of them have high minimum order requirements, but you can ask for a sample.

There are also other companies offering sourcing services. You can also work with a personal sourcing agent who has contacts with different manufacturers.

You can learn more about sourcing products from YouTube videos and blog posts. They have lots of information on the different aspects of the sourcing process. These include how to:

• Find manufacturers
• Negotiate prices
• Place orders

Day 7 – Accelerating Your Business

Finally, on Day 7 of the Rainmaker Challenge, you’ll learn about the key to business success.

Honestly, I have a hard time believing that they have a magic formula for success. Otherwise, they wouldn’t give up their Crabby Patty formula for just $47.

You’ll learn about diversifying your business by adding more categories and product brands.

They’ll also cover advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.

Stephen and Chelsey will give you examples of successful Rainmaker students who have followed this process.

They will also show you how to accelerate the growth of your business in the next 12 months.

Based on the information I’ve gathered, The answer is NO!

Stephen and Chelsey’s Rainmaker Challenge is legit and follows the Fulfilled by Amazon business model.

The Rainmaker Facebook enjoys a following of over 26k followers. This means that there are moms who this program has helped live the dream of running an online business.

But would I recommend the program? Nope!

This is why;

If you are going to invest in a business model that requires a startup fee of over $10,000, it should have a good ROI… Even better, it should be able to give you quick returns.

However, with Amazon FBA, you have pretty slim profit margins. Furthermore, It takes approximately 6 months to start seeing significant returns.

Also, the program requires more of your time than the gurus would have you believe. To be fair, though, they offer you tools that help make your work a bit easier.

However, the fact that you’re competing most of the time with Amazon, makes the whole situation even worse.

I’d rather you go for a program that has a high return on investment and gives you more wiggle room.

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

When you’re a Digital Landlord, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

3) Big Margins: With FBA, you’re often going to have really slim margins. It’s common for experienced sellers on Amazon to get profit margins of 10%. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for growing traffic to your product.

It’s cool in the short term to make a quick buck, but in the long-term, it gets really old, really fast.
