Let me first acknowledge that the Cash Cow Academy is doing something right.
You get to learn strategies on how to grow a seven-figure e-commerce business using TikTok and Instagram.
There’s no denying that social media does play a huge part in the growth of businesses today. Learning how to meet your target audience where they are is certainly a skill we all could use if we want to make money only.
My main issue with this is that you’re doing all this for a dropshipping business.
I know there’s money to be made from running a dropshipping business. But after trying to make money with this business, I can tell you that I was part of the 90% of e-commerce business store owners who don’t make it past the three-month mark.
Some of my biggest issues with running a dropshipping business are that:
- You don’t own the business. Whatever e-commerce store you choose to rely on will always take a cut of your profits.
- The constant search for trendy products. Unless you have the next best air fryer accessory and a supplier on hand, finding those products won’t get any easier.

You’ll not only deal with all the constraints of running a dropshipping business. You’ll also need to try and incorporate TikTok and Instagram into your strategy.

- Depend entirely on third parties for sales
- A slave to reviews that can end your e-commerce store in a second.
Trust me, that’s no way to make money online.

But I wouldn’t advocate for you to learn such a valuable skill only to trade in one full-time job for another.
It doesn’t matter how much your neighbor earns selling fidget spinners; the truth is, they’re still working for someone else.
The sad part about it is that we’ve been made to believe that the entire dropshipping process is as easy as breathing.
What most people don’t realize is that dropshipping is all about:
- Finding the right products
- Finding customers
- Finding the right supplier and hosting website.
Trust me, that’s a lot harder than learning how to ride a bike in an hour.
You’ll also have to pay thousands of dollars every month to simply fulfill each of these three elements.

Ah, the old age question. Is Cash Cow legit? Yes.
But is it worth your investment? No.

The fact that you get to learn how to leverage TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to find dropshipping products or grow your business is a huge win.
The only downside is that you’re basically using the right skills to play for the wrong team.
It’s like seeing Michael Jordan trying to play against Messi. Both are great in their field, but Michael playing soccer won’t show off his basketball skills.
All I’m saying is learning how to leverage social media marketing is great, but not when the business model already sets you up for failure before you even start.
