No, I don’t recommend you invest your precious time into Flat Fee Mastery training.

First off, Nick Wood isn’t a scam artist. You can make some good money with his training program if the stars align.

But here’s the deal: Nick Wood’s rank and rent business model is a hindrance.

It’s like trying to cook a dish with only a kitchen stove. Sure, it can get the job done. But sometimes, depending on the dish, it might call for using the oven, a crockpot, an air fryer, or an outdoor grill…

My point is Nick Wood teaches you only ONE WAY to generate leads and landing clients: Google ads and flat fee retainers.

Don’t get me wrong. If you’re just dead set on mastering Google ads, then sure, this program might work for you. You’ll do okay, but just okay.

But personally, I’d rather invest my money and time in a program that gives me a broader skill set.

Imagine you know how to get leads from Google ads, Facebook ads, YouTube ads, SEO, etc.

You’d be unstoppable. Clients will have a hard time saying no to your offer.

You’ll even be able to charge more for your services. It’s a win-win for both sides.

The clients are happy you’re bringing in more high-quality leads and your bank account gets all fat and stuffy.

3. You don’t want to be handcuffed by only offering flat fee deals. You believe that getting local business owners to accept pay-per-lead and percentages of closed deals are potentially better options.

This section covers a bird-eye view of the business model and the guru, Nick Wood.

Let’s begin with the basics.

Business Model

Making money with the lead generation business model is simple.

Your job is to build a simple one-page website for a specific city and niche. From there, you’ll run Google ads that generate leads.

For example, you might run rank a website for the popular keyword phrase, “best plumbers in New Jersey.”

Local businesses are often terrible with digital marketing and don’t know how to rank their website, which is where you come in.

You offer free leads to a business owner as a trial.

Once they get a taste of what you can do, you’ll close them on a retainer worth $1,000+ per month.

Then rinse and repeat to find more flat fee deals.

Nick makes the mistake, like other lead generation gurus (i.e., Douglas James and Chad Kimball), of not teaching a complete digital marketing skillset. Essentially, you’re pigeonholed into learning only one way to rank and get leads.

Nick Wood is the founder of Flat Fee Mastery, an online course and community teaching students the local lead generation business model.

So is Flat Fee Mastery a scam?

Not exactly. He teaches a very respectable way to make money online.

But unfortunately, it falls shorts on several fronts:

• Nick Wood is dead set on flat fee pricing. It’s hard to break down the value of your services charging a flat-fee. But if you charge based on pay-per-leads or percentage of deals closed, you’re more likely to land more sales. So that alone, means you’re leaving A LOT of money on the table.

• The community is subpar. Just dabbling in the Discord and Facebook groups, the community seems to be disengaged. Only the moderator is responding, and there’s little back-and-forth dialogue.

• The course lacks substance. Going through the videos myself, I was left wanting more. The videos were vague overviews and didn’t provide any practical steps to get started. This doesn’t give me confidence that his paid programs will be any good.

While I like the lead generation business model, Nick Wood isn’t my #1 choice.

Conclusion – Should You Buy?

No, I wouldn’t suggest the Flat Fee Mastery.

While Nick Wood does teach a great way to achieve financial freedom, the execution and delivery of his course are lacking.

For online courses, I’d say it’s somewhere in the middle.

Sure, you have nothing to lose with Nick Wood’s free training, but personally, I’d look for better alternatives that have everything I’m looking for:

• Outstanding training & curriculum that teaches you a COMPLETE skillset

• Mentorship that holds your hands, all but nearly guaranteeing success

• Community to hold your feet to the fire and give you the motivational boost you need.

Out of all the hundreds of programs I reviewed, I literally can’t find anything better than this program.
