Pampered Chef Review (Updated): Is This The Best MLM Opportunity In The Industry?

Updated On: March 20, 2024

,

Welcome to my Pampered Chef review. My goal is to answer common questions like: how much it costs, if it's a scam, and if you can actually make money with it. The end goal is to help you understand if it's a good fit for you personally, and if there are any better alternatives out there.
Pampered Chef Review

This Pampered Chef review has been throughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

There’s no doubt that Pampered Chef is probably one of the oldest MLMs on the market.

But does the fact that it was founded in the 1980s make it your golden ticket to a pampered life?

Now, odds are you stumbled on this Pampered Chef review one of a few ways:

  1. You were invited to a Pampered Chef party by an enthusiast, and they told you about the company’s money-making opportunity by cooking great food and hosting parties.
  2. You wanted some quick cash and decided to opt into the commission program Pampered Chef has.
  3. Someone mentioned them, and you decided to check them out.

However you got here, I’m glad you’re here. Over the next 10-15 minutes of this review, I’m going to take you through everything you need to know about Pampered Chef.

You’ll also get to know

  • Whether this investment opportunity can actually help make money
  • About the Pampered Chef products
  • Whether it’s a pyramid scheme or not
  • The Pampered Chef compensation plan.

I’ve written tens if not hundreds of reviews similar to this one, like Prosperity of Life and Enagic. After a while, I’m able to sniff out the BS, hype, and legitimate aspects of any program.

Best of all, I can tell you the truths, not too many people are willing to share about these programs.

I’m definitely going to step on a lot of toes and ruffle some feathers with this review, as I’m sure you know someone who swears by Pampered Chef and its money-making opportunities.

But I’d rather you make this your one-stop shop for all things Pampered Chef than spend months not even making a single dollar from this program.

So, without further ado, let’s jump straight into the pros and cons of the program.

What I liked
Pampered Chef was founded in the 1980s, which means it's a legit program, and you won't be scammed.
Pampered Chef does have actual products you can sell, meaning you can make money by selling these products.
One of Pampered Chef's marketing strategies is hosting strategies. This is a great way to get family and friends together while enjoying meals and selling kitchen products.
What I Didn’t Like
Pampered Chef is still an MLM company, which means your chances of making money aren't guaranteed.
Your success as a Pampered Chef consultant depends on how the members you recruit, meaning if you aren't good at recruitment, you might want to think of something else.
Pampered Chef will push you to sell kitchen products to your friends and family. This might end up creating tension between you and your loved ones whenever you meet.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict On The Pampered Chef MLM Program?

What’s The Verdict On The Pampered Chef MLM Program

If you prefer a straight-to-the-point take as to whether you should invest in the Pampered Chef MLM program, here’s my two cents.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Now, let’s give credit where it’s due: Pampered Chef has been around since the ’80s, making it one of the OGs in the MLM game. They’ve carved out a niche by focusing on kitchen products, setting themselves apart from the usual health-focused MLMs.

I’m talking about everything from spatulas to Tupperware—the stuff we all use in our kitchens.

With such a broad market, it’s no surprise they’ve stuck around for 44 years.

But here’s the thing—why am I advising against it?

Well, there are two main ways to make money with Pampered Chef: sell their products or recruit others.

Let’s start with selling products. From what I’ve gathered, Pampered Chef’s goods often come with a hefty price tag—sometimes double what you’d pay elsewhere.

Who’s going to shell out extra cash for a ladle when they can get one on Amazon for half the price?

And with fewer buyers, making decent commissions becomes a real challenge.

Plus, there are whispers that their product quality isn’t what it used to be, which makes justifying those high prices even trickier.

Now, onto recruitment. Convincing people to join under you and then convincing them to recruit others sounds like a headache.

You’d need to be a top-notch recruiter and hope your recruits are too. But let’s be real—finding stellar recruits isn’t a walk in the park.

But in the real world, this logic doesn’t exist, which makes it harder to even make money by recruiting others.

It doesn’t matter how long an MLM company has been in the market; it will still be difficult to make money with such a system.

If your goal is to earn online without hawking pricey products or building a recruitment empire, there’s something else you might want to consider: the Digital Rental Method.

This method offers a reliable system for generating online income, with the potential to pull in $2,000 to $10,000 a month. No constant recruiting or high-priced products are required.

You also never have to:

  • Constantly recruit to make a living
  • Sell expensive products
  • Work as someone else’s sales agent

The best part? You’re the boss, reaping all the rewards. Everything you make belongs to you.

Talk about making money online.

Who Benefits From The Pampered Chef Program?

Who Benefits From The Pampered Chef Program

I’m a huge advocate for people making money online. But just because a program can help you make money doesn’t mean that it’s the right one for you.

I can’t deny there are plenty of online programs like Cash Flow 101 and Q Sciences that claim to be your golden ticket to ultimate online riches.

But once you know whether a program is for you, it gets easier to choose the right one.

With that said, who is the Pampered Chef program for?

If you see yourself in the list below, this program is for you.

  1. Anyone who’s interested in making money from an MLM. The fact that Pampered Chef was founded in the 1980s means that it’s legit, and no one will try to scam you.
  2. Someone who’s attended the Pampered Chef party and would like to host similar parties while still making money.
  3. You simply have some years to waste experimenting with different money-making opportunities, and MLM happens to be at the top of your list.

Who is this program not for?

  1. Anyone looking to create a consistent income stream by running an online business. The fact that Pampered Chef is an MLM business means that the income will not be as consistent and great as you’d expect. Also, with most reviewers claiming that their products are expensive, like in this Reddit thread, it’s going to be a challenge selling products.
  2. Individuals who aren’t great at recruiting. If you choose to make money by recruiting other people, you’ll have to be a people person, and that’s something even this Reddit reviewer agrees isn’t easy to do.
  3. You hate the idea of becoming someone else’s sales rep while earning little to no commissions for every product you sell.

The Pampered Chef Program- The 1,000 FT View of This Online Business Opportunity

The Pampered Chef Program- The 1,000 FT View of This Online Business Opportunity

It’s finally time to dive deep into the Pampered Chef program and understand what this MLM business is all about.

So, let’s start with the basics.

The Business Model

Pampered Chef is a Multi-Level Marketing Company founded by Doris Christopher in the 1980s. It gained recognition in the 1990s because of its kitchen products and has since grown to be the company we know today.

It’s not surprising that this company has outlived thousands of other MLMs. The founder’s background in finance and e-commerce contributed to most of the company’s success.

So, how exactly do you make money with the Pampered Chef company?

There are three ways to make money with Pampered Chef.

1. Selling Products

One of the most popular ways of making money with Pampered Chef is by selling their kitchen products. These products include:

  • Kitchen tools
  • Bakeware
  • Tupperware
  • Food chopper
  • Gardening tools
  • Pampered Chef cookbooks

Pampered chef consultants are expected to sell products directly to their friends and family and earn a commission.

Aside from word of mouth, Pampered Chef consultants are encouraged to host Pampered Chef parties or even virtual parties to showcase the products they want to sell.

Affiliate Marketing

Another way you can make money selling Pampered Chef products is through affiliate marketing. For $10, they give you access to their website, where you can sell the products.

This means that you earn a commission every time anyone buys a product through your link.

MLM Recruitment

The last way to make money is through MLM recruitment. Basically, you recruit someone who ends up recruiting three more people, and the cycle continues.

Honestly, this is probably why MLMs get such a bad rap. Recruiting people isn’t easy. And if you do, you can only make money unless everyone else you’ve recruited makes a sale.

It will be difficult to make money with the three models Pampered Chef offers. It’s also worth noting that if you do choose to sell products, the average monthly returns will be razor-thin.

Unless you’re at the top of the pyramid and earning from everyone else, as this income sheet illustrates.

Pampered Chef income sheet

So, if you’re assuming that this is your ticket to a pampered life, well, $44 worth of commission is something you can’t live on.

I’d suggest going for a program that can help you create a consistent, semi-passive income. That program is the Digital Rental Method.

About the Founder-Doris Christopher

About the Founder-Doris Christopher

I can’t talk about Pampered Chef without talking about the founder, Doris Christopher.

Doris founded Pampered Chef from her basement in her Chicago home in 1980. Her main goal with this company was to enrich the lives of many with shared meal times.

Armed with a $3000 loan and her entrepreneurial spirit, Doris created a meal plan that was more enjoyable and less of a chore.

She also made it possible for plenty of people to make money selling kitchen products. From the very beginning, Pampered Chef has stuck to selling professional-quality kitchen products and hosting cooking parties that help inspire confidence.

While the tools may have been quality then, if this Trust Pilot review page is anything to go by, there are numerous complaints that the quality is poor now.

What’s The Cost of Joining Pampered Chef?

There are three Pampered Chef consultation kits. Each launch bundle has a different price, and they include:

  • A starter kit: This will cost you $49, and it comes with products worth $400 or more. This package is great for anyone who’s looking to test the water with Pampered Chef.
  • Deluxe Kit: This kit costs $159, and it includes products worth $700.
  • Ultimate Kit: The registration price is $259, and you do get $1000 worth of kitchen products.

Sound cheap, right?

But there are many hidden costs associated with that $49. For one, you’ll be expected to pay for the Pampered Chef party you’ll host. Depending on the number of people you host and the products you buy, that could cost over $500.

There’s also the marketing costs for your affiliate site. That’s thousands of dollars just for the marketing of products on your own website.

When you compute all that, it could easily cost you thousands of dollars. Trust me, for an MLM program, that’s like flushing all your cash down the toilet.

Is There a Pampered Chef Scam? My Personal Opinion

Is There a Pampered Chef Scam My Personal Opinion

Time to answer the million-dollar question: Is there a Pampered Chef scam?

My answer is no, there isn’t. But does that mean you should jump on the bandwagon to start investing in this MLM program?

My answer is no.

Let’s set the record straight first: Pampered Chef has been around since the ’80s, and it’s totally legit. It’s not some shady pyramid scheme, either; they have real products you can sell.

But just because people made bank with Pampered Chef back in the ’80s doesn’t guarantee you’ll hit the jackpot.

The deal with MLMs like Pampered Chef is that you mainly earn by recruiting more members. And truth be told, you have to be high up in the ranks to rake in the dough.

Try thinking of it like a triangle.

If the person at the top recruits 10 people, that includes you, and you recruit 10 people and so on, you end up making money from the 10 people plus the rest they bring.

But don’t forget that the recruiter will also make money, just like the others above you. So, all you’ll be earning is a trickle of money, and that isn’t much to cover your bills these days.

There’s also the issue of paying money to get products to sell. If you want better products, you’ll have to pay over $1000 for good products.

That reason alone might make this program a little too expensive for most people. Let’s also not forget that even after paying $1,000 you don’t have a guarantee you’ll actually make money by selling these products.

So why risk your hard-earned money on a scheme that’s more stressful than success?

How about trying something different?

I’m talking about the Digital Rental Method.

With this baby, you can build a solid income stream without:

  • Begging your loved ones to join your hustle
  • Stocking up on inventory
  • Peddling kitchen gadgets to your inner circle

I’m talking about a program that could help you make over $2,000 to $10,000 every month.

And the cherry on top? You can build it as high as you want, which is something MLMs like Pampered Chef can’t promise.

If this has sparked your interest, why not check out the Digital Rental Method?

What’s Inside The Pampered Chef?

What’s Inside The Pampered Chef

This is an MLM program, so we’ll examine its commission structure and how Pampered Chef consultants make money.

These commission rates are as follows:

  • 20% commission rate for $1 to $749 monthly sales.
  • 22% commission rate for $750 to $1249 monthly sales.
  • 23% commission rate for $1250 to $2449 monthly sales.
  • 24% commission rate for $2500 to $3999 monthly sales.
  • 25% commission rate for over $4000 monthly sales.

Compared to some of the MLM programs I’ve reviewed, like Powur, I have to say the commission is pretty fair. It also does hold its own, and you can make money from this program if you make sales.

But making sales worth over $4000 is impossible, especially with cheaper, quality kitchen tools on Amazon.

And with all the complaints about Pampered Chef products on the Internet, it will be tough to convince people to buy them.

Conclusion- Is The Pampered Chef Cost Worth It?

Is The Pampered Chef Cost Worth It

So, is the Pampered Chef cost worth it?

I’d still say no. If we were still in the 1980s, maybe making money with Pampered Chef would have been possible.

But in this day and age, buying kitchen products on Amazon is much better, and most of them are of better quality than what Pampered Chef offers.

So, instead of trying to buy into a program that won’t help you make money, why not check out my Number one way to make money online?

What’s My Number #1 Way To Make Money Online in 2024?

What's My Number #1 Way To Make Money Online

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

  • I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
  • I’ve drop-shipped a toilet bowl, putting green on Shopify
  • I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say there is no “perfect” business model.

I’ve also been on the other side of old friends trying to sell me their fancy new MLM products.

That being said, my #1 recommendation for making real money online is, hands-down, the Digital Rental Method.

Whether you’re a complete newbie or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, the Digital Rental Method is for you.

Did Pampered Chef Make The List?

Why?

Time: If you’ve got a spare hour or two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.

And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring.

That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.

But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.

With Pampered Chef, you’ll have to spend most of your hours thinking of recruitment or how to sell the products you bought.

Ownership & Control: With MLMs, you don’t really “own” anything – everything belongs to the MLM.

If you read the contracts, they can kick you out at any time or change your commission at any time (it’s happened in a few high-profile MLM cases recently).

Why pour your soul into a business that could be taken away from you at the drop of a dime?

With the Digital Rental Method, you literally own all of the assets, which means you have ultimate control.

Big Margins: With MLMs, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to have a VERY large network to make serious money. This usually entails spending A LOT of money on ads and other methods for recruiting members.

With the Digital Rental Method, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.

Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.

Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on auto-pilot.

It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…

If you wanted to double your income with an MLM, you would need to sell twice as much inventory. And I can guarantee you that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.

You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with MLMs is that you’re likely going to ruin your personal relationships.

The MLM may have convinced you that you’re actually helping people, but it’s often not really true.

With the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:

Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.

You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.

Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.

So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other MLM programs like Pampered Chef, which might make you money 12 months from now.

You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or a few years), never making a concrete decision.

OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.

Making a fortune while actually helping real people who need it.
