TLDR – Is Kindle Publishing Income Legit?
If you don’t read anything else in this article, this is the part you don’t wanna skip.
So, should you buy Kindle Publishing Income?
No, please don’t.
I don’t mean to disparage your hope of being a world-renowned, best-selling author, but selling cheap books isn’t the way to go.
In fact, if you listen to Sophie, you’re probably NOT gonna be
- Leaving your 9-5 cubicle
- Sipping Mai Tais on the beach resorts of Maui
- Taking Instagram selfies while flying first-class
Where Kindle Publishing Falls Short
While I don’t doubt you could make a few buckeroonies with her teaching, Amazon Kindle Publishing isn’t as easy as Sophie makes it out to be.
For starters, you’re selling ebooks for peanuts – kind of like a flea market that sells cheap books you’ve never heard of.
I’m talking about books that sell as low as 99 cents and range up to $15, tops.
To add insult to injury, Amazon KDP takes a huge cut. You get 70% royalties for charging between $2.99 to $9.99, but if you charge more than $10, you only get 35%.
What kind of hocus pocus malarky is this?
So, on one hand, you get to leverage Amazon Kindle Direct’s big platform, but on the other hand, you’re paid cents on the dollar.
Say you profit $7 a book. How many books do you need to sell to make $10k per month?
If you’re a human calculator, you’d know the answer is 1,428.57.
Considering all the work you’re going to put into researching topic ideas, finding ghostwriters, designing the cover, and promoting the book, it’s hard to imagine it’s worth the pennies you’d make.
You’re probably better off working at Starbucks, making $15 an hour. At least you get free coffee…
But what if there is a way to make $2,000 to $10,000+ consistently without worrying about when the next book sale is coming?
I’m talking about a system that doesn’t require you to:
- Hire cheap writers
- Surrender all control to Jeff Bezos
- Take whatever margins Amazon gives you
- Beg readers to leave positive reviews on your books
- Pull your hair out wondering when you’ll make the best-seller list
This is something that still gives you the passive income you’re looking for, but without all the bad stuff that Kindle publishing brings.
If that sounds like a doozy, you might want to think about trying the Digital Rental Method.
Who Benefits From Sophie Howard’s Program, And Who Should Stay Far Away?
What Sophie doesn’t tell you is that the Kindle Publishing Income isn’t for everyone. Here’s who the program is and isn’t for.
The Kindle Publishing Income might be for you if…
- You’re already doing Amazon FBA but want to learn Kindle publishing specifically.
- You’re a girl boss making 6-figures+ and want to take a stab at selling eBooks to see if you can generate passive income.
- You’re a writing prodigy like J.K. Rowling. Publishers don’t want to put their trust in you, so you’re gonna take the self-publishing route and bet on yourself.
You probably want to turn the other way if…
- You hate Sophie’s aggressive marketing tactics. Frankly, I can’t buy from someone who appears non-stop on my social media feeds. It’s like that crazy ex who won’t stop calling.
- You despise gurus with shady refund policies. You have to wait 180 days before requesting a refund, and you must prove that you’ve listed at least 1 book on the Amazon Kindle platform.
- You want to build predictable, semi-passive income streams that pay you consistently, like lead generation.

Kindle Publishing Income At A 1,000 FT View
Here’s a bird’s eye view of the program:
Business Model
The Kindle Publishing Income teaches you how to sell eBooks on the Amazon Kindle platform.
In a nutshell, here’s how the business model works:
- Pick a niche, specifically find topics with high demand and low competition.
- Craft your Kindle book. Write it yourself or outsource it to cheap ghostwriters on Fiverr or Upwork.
- Boost your book sales with targeted Amazon ads.
The problem is most books range between sell between $4 to $15, meaning you’re selling low-ticket items.
Who Is Sophie Howard?
Sophie Howard is famous for selling things on Amazon, with over 1,000 products on the platform that have made her 7-figures.
She has your typical rags-to-riches story. Before she was the Amazon Selling Queen, Sophie worked a bland government job. Her big aha moment was when she realized she wasn’t getting to spend time with her kiddos.
This kickstarted her FBA journey. She began selling tea before moving on to other products, including eBooks. Now she’s a boss babe teaching others her ways.
Personal Opinion On Kindle Publishing Income
Here’s where the rubber meets the road. Is Kindle Publishing Income a scam?
Not exactly. Sophie’s not gonna take your money and ride off into the sunset.
But she’s not gonna turn you into a jet-flying limousine riding son-of-gun either.
You’ll probably need a huge portfolio of books and then hope that one hits big.
If that were the case, I’d take my tooshie and buy some Powerball tickets. With that, at least I wouldn’t have to work so hard to make my millies.
But in all seriousness, Kindle Publishing is just a hard business model to make any real money with.
If you’re anything like me, you probably have big aspirations to live an extravagant life. Maybe that’s going on luxury vacations, dropping racks at Gucci & Chanel, or something wholesome, like retiring your parents.
The bad news is that Kindle Publishing probably can’t afford you that life.
The good news is that the Digital Rental Method can.
Just like Kindle publishing, you’re building digital assets that pay you passively. Except instead of making a few bucks per sale, you’re getting checks between $500 to $2,000 each, every single month, practically on autopilot.
And unlike self publishing, you are your own boss. Jeff Bezos doesn’t tell you what to do.
You’re not handicapped to one platform, either. You can collect leads from Facebook, Google, YouTube, Instagram, or anywhere else.
Whereas Kindle publishing means you’re limited to Amazon Kindle Direct. That means you can’t sell hardcover or audible books.
The Digital Rental Method gives you the freedom to live life on your terms. Many of my friends run their 6-figure Digital Rental Method businesses from:
- Beautiful beachfront properties in Maui
- Their campervan while exploring the sweet sights and sounds of Mother Nature
- Six flags, while spending precious time with their children
And it’s all thanks to this program.
If you want a business that actually can afford you a boss-babe lifestyle, Digital Rental Method might be for you.
Area | Score | Description |
---|---|---|
Time Investment | 4.0 out of 5 stars | You’ll spend a lot of time trying to publish book after book before you can bank on any real passive income. |
Level Of Command | 1.0 out of 5 stars | Amazon holds all the marbles. If they shut you down, your business crumbles overnight. If they change the royalty percentages, you better count your pockets. That also doesn’t include competitors copying your book ideas to try to outrank you. |
Ease Of Implementation | 4.0 out of 5 stars | Becoming a highly paid published author is hard. You need a great book that people recommend to others and you gotta be able to promote it. |
Profit Potential | 1.0 out of 5 stars | Selling books for a few bucks with Amazon taking a huge cut means you’re making cents on the dollar. |

Final Thoughts on Sophie Howard Kindle Publishing Income
Here’s the bottom line.
Unless you’re the second coming of J.K. Rowling, I’d say you should take a hard pass on Kindle Publishing Income.
For you to make 6-figures, you’d have to sell THOUSANDS of books. Frankly, that’s probably a harder sell than Cutco knives. At least with those, I know what I’m getting.
If you’re interested in making money online without relying on selling cheap books, I know a better way.
This business opportunity allows me to generate $20k+ every single month consistently. Just imagine how many books you need to sell to make that much.
Probably enough people to fill an entire arena..
#1 Alternative For Making Money Online in 2024
Alright, time for me to get real with my lovely readers for a moment:
I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:
- I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
- I’ve drop-shipped a toilet-bowl putting green on Shopify
- I’ve sold women’s health supplements via Clickbank affiliate marketing
And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business
model.
THAT BEING SAID: I would at least recommend you implement something that is tried and true, because I’ve seen TOO MANY people (including friends and family) get burned by stuff like Kindle Publishing Income.
They come out of left field with some random idea, make it seem attractive, and then make themselves a quick buck by luring in unsuspecting people.
This is a big reason why I only recommend proven, tried, and true business models, like Lead Generation & Ad Agencies.
There are a bunch of programs out there that teach you those skills, but my top choice is the Digital Landlords program.
Why? It has proven leaders with their own 7-figure businesses implementing exactly what they teach you.
I’ve also got over a dozen personal friends in there, so I feel comfortable telling you it works.
Whether you’re a complete newbie, or you’ve been around the block before but have never had that “big win” to propel you forward, their program works.

Here’s Why:
1)Time: If you’ve got a spare hour-or-two each day, you can do this. If you want to drop everything and go all-in, you can do this. More time obviously means faster results, but even putting in a few hours per day is enough to see real success.
And because of that flexibility, you don’t need to trade your time for money. Once the income starts, it’s recurring (for the most part).
That means you can take a month off, travel the country, pursue a passion project, chill on the beach, or charter a boat across the world.
But you can only do that once you’ve created an income stream that doesn’t require YOU to be there all day, every day.
2)Big Margins: With most businesses, you’re often going to have really slim margins. That means you need to hit a serious scale to make serious money.
With the Digital Rental Method, your profit margin is nearly 100%. Watch here to learn how.
With Kindle Direct Publishing, you get a profit of only 35% of your list price for the eBooks sold.
Just a reminder: these Digital Rental Properties are worth (at a minimum) $500/mo in semi-passive income. And each time you create another one, your income increases, and the effort put into creating the next property decreases.
Best case scenario, you have properties bringing in over $3,000+/mo on “auto-pilot”.
3)It’s Effectively Copy-Paste: Here’s my favorite part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up, you can literally copy-paste another version of it and find another willing “renter” in a few days. DOUBLING your income doesn’t get much easier than that…
If you wanted to double your income with Kindle Direct Publishing, you would need to invest in ads to stand out.
And I can guarantee you, that’s a lot harder than a few clicks & a phone call.
4)You’re Helping REAL People: My biggest gripe with Kindle Direct Publishing is that you’re basically only helping yourself.
But with the Digital Rental Method, you’re helping solve REAL problems that people are ASKING for help with:
Small local businesses around the world need one thing: customers. Without them, their business would fall apart. If we can provide those customers, they’re going to be really happy – and they’re going to pay you for it.
You’re helping a struggling mother or father put FOOD on the table for their families, put their kids through college, or simply live life a little bit more comfortably.
Having this type of impact on the world is what will help you sleep soundly at night.
So, the rest is up to you. You could keep looking at other off-the-wall business models like Kindle Direct Publishing and maybe hit it big one day.
You could keep researching and researching for the next few months (or a few years), never making a concrete decision.
OR, you can look deep inside, think about those dreams, hopes, & desires, and make the decision to ACTUALLY make it happen, just like it has for thousands of other students before you.
Making a fortune while actually helping real people who need it.
