TLDR – What’s My Verdict On Tom Gaddis and Nick Ponte Reviews

Nick and Tom are smart guys. They’re whizzes at what they do, which is why I’m left scratching my head when I see this program. 

If you’re here, I’m gonna take a wild swing and say that you want to escape your 9 to 5 job. 

But being a social media manager means you fire one boss to work for another. 

And for that reason, I don’t think you should buy Online Review System. 

If you want a high-paying 9 to 5, there are plenty of other careers that pay more like: 

• A doctor
• Software engineer 
• Lawyer 
• Account
• CIA agent 

At least with a W-2 job, you get a steady paycheck with health benefits. 

As a social media manager, there’s no job security. 

Unlike what Nick and Tom want you to think, it’s not as easy as they say. 

It’s not just a copy-paste system. 

Business owners want to see an ROI on their investments. 

They’re looking at their bottom line and crunching numbers with their bookkeepers. When they see you bring little to no value, their board of trusted advisors will surely slash you off their payroll. 

Online Review System promises to help automate the job by making life easier for you. That means: 

• Finding leads for you
• Using scheduling software 
• Outsourcing to VAs 
• Giving done-for-you content packages 

Let me say this. 

When companies pay a social media manager, they’re looking for people who can create on-brand content. 

The best social media marketers become an extension of their client’s brands. They speak in their voice. They know how to build a following and turn that audience into leads. 

Cookie-cutter content templates aren’t gonna do anything. 

In fact, it does the opposite. 

It’s gonna actually hurt your client’s reputation. 

When you hire VAs, they’re not going to produce stellar Gary-Vee-style social media content. Remember, you get what you pay for. 

You’re better off just helping businesses find more customers.

That said, I’ve put on my detective hat and want to provide my two cents on who I believe the Online Revenue System is and isn’t for.

Online Revenue System might be for you if…

1. You’ve had success with the Rank and Rent model and want to add social media management as an extra service for your clients. 
2. You don’t care about replacing your 9 to 5 job. You just want to stack a few hundred bucks here and there. 
3. You have shiny object syndrome. If you’re someone who hops from one business opportunity to the next, then you might dabble in the Online Revenue System. 

On the flip side, you probably want to stay far away from Nick and Tom if…

1. You want a business opportunity that delivers reliable results. Most business owners already know how to use tools like Buffer to automate their social media posts. It’s better to try something that adds more value, like the Digital Rental Method. 
2. You don’t trust gurus who pay for fake positive reviews on social media. Case in point: just read through their Facebook reviews.
3. You hate gurus who make you fight tooth and nail to get your money back. A few customers complained about trying to cancel subscriptions from their other programs.

Social media marketing caught steam 6 or 7 years ago, made famous by the one and only Tai Lopez. 

Nowadays, though, it’s rare to find gurus still selling this stuff. 

Just because it’s not nearly as effective as it once was. 

Guys who got in early made a fortune. 

But those who are late to the party are left with the cookie crumbs – kinda like MLM. 

Basically, here’s what you’d be getting yourself into. 

• You make a website. 
• Contact local business owners with bad social media profiles. 
• Offer them a deal to manage their social media for $300 a month. 
• Create and post social media content. You might have to film, edit, and plan content.
• Then, feed it into a social media management software to schedule the posts out in advance. 
• Rinse and repeat by finding more clients. 

These days, many businesses already have a social media marketer in-house, so you’re really targeting the mom-and-pop shops who don’t know what they’re doing. 

You’d be selling business owners on the convenience of doing all the social media work so they don’t have to. 

These tasks might be too much for the old man at the corner store who wants to create an online presence and sell beadwork jewelry.

That’s where you come in.

I think jumping into social media management in 2015 would’ve been nice, especially when businesses still don’t know how to tap into the power of Zuckerberg’s platforms. But trying to get in now is kinda like trying to get your ex back after 2 years have passed.

Time to move on.

What is The Online Revenue System?

The Online Revenue System is a course that teaches how to make money online with social media management. 

Nick and Tom promise to help you make $300 checks from businesses..

Not exactly game-changing money…

You get access to SociSpy software, which is just a lead scraper for finding businesses.

The course provides learning modules, outreach templates, and ways to outsource the work. 

Either you’ll churn out content constantly, or you’ll pay VAs to do it for you. It’s really a double-edged sword. 

• If you do it yourself, you keep all the profits. 
• If you outsource it, your team eats into the profits. And with only a $300 budget, you’re probably getting low-quality work anyway. 

If you don’t produce results (aka more followers) that lead to email signups, booked appointments, and eventually customers, chances are business owners won’t see the value in your service. 

And what’s stopping them from hiring Joe Schmoe off Fiverr to replace you? 

With all that said, it’s hard to get a pulse of just how effective their program is since I can’t find customer reviews on Trustpilot or BBB.

Who Are Nick Ponte & Tom Gaddis?

Nick Ponte and Tom Gaddis are the brains behind Online Review System. 

But they’re also founders of their brand Offline Sharks, which offers all kinds of courses. They primarily teach lead generation, which I personally believe is the best way to make money these days. 

Smart move.

Nick and Tom started off doing their own thing. Nick worked as an auto mechanic before building his ad agency. 

Tom Gaddis was a restaurant manager at Bubba Gumps and Logan’s Roadhouse before he started his own lead generation company. 

Sounds like both stumbled into the right business model. 

Eventually, they joined forces, understanding that two heads are better than one, and live comfortably on the island of Maui, Hawaii. 

While they focus on lead gen, it’s odd they would still keep this social media management course around.

Online Revenue System Cost

Online Revenue System costs $17, down from the original $297. 

It’s hard to argue that you could do much better with $17. 

For the cost of a Netflix subscription, the value isn’t so bad at all. 

But don’t fall for their smoke and mirrors. 

They’ll offer plenty of upsells once you make your purchase, including their higher tier programs and a paid plan to SociSpy.

Of course, provided you do the work and implement all their strategies. 

In my experience covering these gurus, getting your money back isn’t always so easy. 

Just see Exhibit A. 

This customer had trouble getting his money back from a different program that Offline Sharks sold. 

Is Online Revenue System a Scam? My Personal Opinion

It’s always a battle figuring out gurus like Nick and Tom. 

I like the fact that they do recommend lead generation as a business model, especially if you follow their YouTube channel. 

They’re preaching to the choir, and I have no issues with them there. 

But then, they sell stuff like Online Review System, which is a big bag of fluff to put it kindly. 

It’s kind of like eating chips, empty calories that don’t add any real value and might leave you worse off than before. 

So, should you fork over your hard-earned $17 for Online Review System? 

I wouldn’t. 

While the program isn’t a scam, it’s not exactly the best use of your money either.

The $17 spent on a tasty meal at Bucca Di-Beppo might leave you more satisfied. 

As I said, being a social media manager is commonplace. 

You can find them practically on every street corner. 

And you’re a commodity. 

Think of basic commodities you buy – like cleaning products, salt and pepper, batteries, etc. 

You don’t really care about the brand. You’re looking for the cheapest price because it gets the job done. 

Same with social media management. 

Business owners will nickel and dime you because they know you’re a commodity. 

They can find a replacement on Fivver, Upwork, or even Indeed. 

But if you want to separate yourself from the pack, then you need more valuable skills. 

Better yet, a diverse set of skills like PPC, social media ads, search engine optimization, reputation marketing, etc. 

As I always tell people, why swim in a red ocean filled with sharks when you can move to the blue ocean with tons of untapped waters? 

When you become irreplaceable to a business, they’ll pay you month after month.

I mean, do businesses want cookie-cutter content, or would they prefer something that’s a little more tailored to their business?

Final Verdict – Should You Buy?

So, should you buy Online Revenue System? 

No, I wouldn’t. 

Sure, the cost of the program is about as much as a ham sandwich these days. 

But that’s not the issue. 

I think it’s clear by now that there’s not really a lot of room to make big profits with social media management, regardless of who teaches it. 

And honestly.. The cat’s out of the bag. 

Business owners know how to use tools like Buffer and Sprout Social. They know how to post content on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. It’s not rocket science. 

But that doesn’t move the needle in their business. 

What moves the needle is delivering fresh-baked leads hot off the press. 

High-quality leads that are ready to buy. 

Leads that actually want what local businesses have to offer. 

Sure, you could try your luck with Nick and Tom’s other lead generation programs, but considering all the bad Facebook reviews I’ve pointed out, they don’t seem like the best people to learn from. 

If you want a solid program with credible mentors who care about you and want you to succeed, then I’d say check out the Digital Rental Method. 

You bring in customers for companies, and they pay you well. It’s basically recession-proof because it’s something that businesses always need, no matter if we live in the medieval era or Futurerama spaceship times.

My #1 Alternative For Making Money Online in 2024

I’ve personally tried all of the major online business models:

• I have an actual lead generation business
• I’ve sold fidget spinners through Amazon FBA
• I’ve drop-shipped a toilet-bowl putting green on Shopify (pic below)

And I made money with all of them, so trust me when I say: there is no “perfect” business model.
